🤔you should consider making course on notion that focuses on formulas, btw Video is awesome as always.
It's 2022 and one of my urgent tasks for the week was to find a budgetting system. WOW! You put so much work into this system and it is exactly what I was looking for!! Thank you!!
Hi, I just want to say again that you're template is great, I've been using it for several months now. Unfortunately, I saw there's a question that is not answered and that a lot of people have : change the budget for specific months.
You can also see my other comment above. I wish I could continue using your template...
The only channel which shows only the full mathematical use case of notion and its features.
Impressive work and template!
Thanks red you're charmant
Wow this video was so helpful. You have offered the best budget templates that I have seen by far!!! keep up the great work
I'm out of words, this is just greatness, thanks for sharing
Red, YOU'RE FABULOUS!!! This is a fantastic Template and explanation!!! thanks for that!
Just wow! I've been using Notion quite a while, but never take it to the next level like this. Thank you for your efforts, explanation and resources
I love this verison !!! very organize and simple understanding! this is exaclty what I wanted but it takes forever
Thank you Red! Impressive work!
MOST underrated ytchannel out there on god! thank you sarah
Thank you for creating this amazing budget manager! I'm using it and absolutely loving it! ❤
WOW!!!!! This has a major learning curve, but it's totally worth it! I'll start right now!
I've just discovered your channel and this brilliant template. I love Notion, but have yet to find a way of using it to budget that I've stuck with. Looking forward to seeing how I go with this! Thanks for your hard work in preparing the template :)
Red, You are magnificient on Notionn, Thank a lot!!!
I love Notion but I hit a wall with connecting my expense tracking database with the months and item category databases! I am glad that your videos popped up as the top search result for my UA-cam query for a Notion expense tracking system. Your video helped me understand Notion, and in particular, how you explained so clearly how to separate the relations for E. Month & Year and S. Month & Year is so simple yet extremely effective. Thank you thank you thank you :)
OMG, that's soooo clever! Especially, in the Budget table, use 'monthly average' and the conception of amount of month to evaluate whether the spending by now is under budget or not , which smartly solves the problem that I encountered when tried to build a budget page on my own before. THANK YOU SO MUCH! LOVE YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS!
Thank you for the template. Great Job!
OMG amazing video as always!!! Very informative and you continue to show me the depth of notion!!!
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it! 😁
Wow, this is insane. I've done most of this in Excel, but this is way, way better. Thank you!
You really ate this up. I love this and you thank you!!
I feel like this video is so important, I have to download it
Comparing this one with Easlo's it's way easier to have control of your finances due to the monthly balance and amount available per category. Thank you so much, Red. I'm donating a good amount of ☕ so you get inspired and fueled to keep working on your notion projects
👍👍👍👍👍👍 Hey Red! Thank youuuu!!!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!! Thank youuuu!!!!!! I’m so grateful and really well explained! Looking forward to your videos! Have fun & peace! ✌️
Thanks for this Red
This is amazing. I'm trying to keep and make a budget
thank you so much! it's an amazing video!
This is amazing as usual, thanks!
Glad you like it! 🥰
This is exactly what my life needed!
Great template & tutorial! Could you show us how you set up a new year with this kind of budget manager? Thanks!
I watched a loooot of videos with differents notion templates, and this is by far the best! Only one thing, It would be great having two differents type of currency (like USD and EUR) :)
Great Red, thanks!!!!
Thanks a lot Red!!
You're just AWESOME! So perfect
Red, you are a creative genius! I’m always beyond impressed with your templates & I honestly don’t know how I lived before them. I thought your last budgeting system was great but this is on another level of greatness. I especially love how clean & simple it is, SO easy to use! I was wondering if there’s anyway to add a debt calculator to the one you have now? Also, the only thing I’m confused about is how the budget will know when it’s a new month so the total re-starts at zero?? Thank you for everything you do
I was also searching for it at 13:50 she explains how to start a new month.
In the Month template itself you can set the timeline of your month. I did it from the 20th till the 19th...
It's a bit late but maybe this response is useable ☺️
@@minahondeveld7813 I don't clearly understand what you did. Did you add a new column?
Thank you so much !! This is sooooo helpful
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this!
Amazing your video!! thank so much !!!
This budget template is awesome, if you could make a detailed video on how to make is step by step. I think that would help others to creat one of their own. At least me for sure 😍
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Many of us would like the budget database to include a way to see if we are in budget for a given month. As it's set up we can see the total spent per category over all time, and average spent monthly. however as soon as you get 2 months in, you can no longer see how much you spend in a given month for a category. There's got to be a way to add/fix this. Can you please help us Red?
Great template
Very good and useful!!!🙂
I love this, seriously. I've been looking for a new budgeting tool since YNAB is raising its price, and all other tools I've found are either insufficient or I don't understand them enough to tweak them for my preferences. This one I can actually work with. I do want to point out that you don't need both the IN/OUT column and the INCOME/SPEND column. You could even have separate columns for income and spending.
That actually helped, because instead of INCOME I prefer to put specify exactly there which kind of income it is instead of in the notes, but i was worried that it might be connected to a template which won't work anymore due to me deleting this filter :)
Great job thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
you are amazing , thanks.
Nice video. Do u have similar video on daily calender planner, where we can plan and track activities
hello. I just learned about notion last week and as a student, I can see that it has some really cool features that would be really helpful to me. at first, I was very overwhelmed with all the new things you can do using notion but watching your videos have really helped me get the hang of it.
the one thing that I have been looking for on the internet but I can't seem to find is an attendance tracker for students. as a uni student, we have the criteria to hit 70% attendance to attend the exams. and I really want to track which classes I attend and which classes do I skip. and which classes are currently low on attendance.
I am looking to build a database where I enter the subject name, date, and a check box if the class is attended or not. and based on the no of classes missed/attended it could calculate in which classes I have low attendance.
I thought this I a pretty common thing and I would find at least one person who has made something like this but unfortunately, I haven't.
can you please make something like this?
THis is great, Thank you
Well done ,Genius!!!!!
You are AMAZING!
This is so awesome!
Also, is there a way to make 2 balance amounts for 2 different accounts? I've made a database for the different accounts I'm using but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to total separately.
You are superb!
Thank, you so much! I'm using your savings template. Can I connect the saving payments of that template to the total balance & savings database of this template.
Hey! Love your notion videos, great job. I like this layout but I'm a bit confused on how to go about doing this if I have a checking account where my money gets direct deposit for income and thats where most of my expenses come from. However I also have a savings account that I transfer to when any income comes in.. I take a set amount of my paycheck and transfer it directly to savings. How do you think I should treat multiple accounts?
Hi Red! I absolutely love this template! It definitely beats the Numbers Sheet I've been using for years.. and it's all in Notion! TY!! > In the Month view (and also in the Month template)
1. Duplicate the CASHFLOW table under INCOME
2. Change Filters: I/O Is Out | Name Contains Spend | E. Month & Year contains [August 2021 OR New Month for template]
***This will create a table with your TOTAL Spending for a given MONTH; Notice that the Total Amount Spent for the Month can be calculated at the bottom of the table (SUM)***
3. In this new table, duplicate the table view
4. Add Grouping by Budget Item
5. In Grouping, Sort Manually if desired
6. Make sure the Groups display the calculation (SUM)
>> You should now be able to see the total amount spent on all your expenses, for a given budget item, in the given Month.
I keep the budget table Red included, next to this new table, so I can easily see.. I spent X on Food this month and my budget was Y.
I hope this helps someone! Truly a powerful tool Red created here! Thank you again 😍
Is there a video on how to build this? I'd love to learn from it!:)
Hi Red, thank you for the video. I've been watching it many times and each time I still can learn something new. Just wondering one thing - what happened if the box of CURRENTLY is UNCHECKED for the current month (in Months Section). Did I miss something? Thank you for your time in advance.
Hello there! Thank you so much for this budget template. I was wondering if you could go a little more into the debt section...I am trying to figure out how I can add the total debt (from Student Loans and CC) so I can see the grand debt total getting lower and lower each month. Is that possible? Thanks again!
How do I take money out of my savings? Thank you for an amazing template and video.
Your video is wonderful, and I would like to give it a try. I am wondering if most fields can be edited, such as the budget items. I have some that are not in your template, and you have some that I do not need. I also utilize PDF attachments in my current budget and registers, can this be added. I have not yet tried building anything with Notion, but what you show in your video is very intriguing.
This is so cool! Thanks🔥🔥🔥 and you're gorgeous🙃
Amaizing!
Thanks!
This is insame and thank you so much for putting your time and effort into it. Question, is there a way to account for multiple bank accounts and transfer funds between them? Well in terms of Transfer and can just treat it as a spend from one bank account and income to the other. But is there a way we would be able to have say 3 bank accounts then, be able to see the balance in each as well as the overall roll up like what you already have here. I pretty much use 2 bank accounts and cash envelopes and it would be super to track each of their spending individually. Of course you have done this wonderful template and I'm super grateful for that, I'm not complaining AT ALL, just inquiring.
I need help. I downloaded your template and it looks nice. One question I have is how do I input my data into the template? I have the last 18 months exported from my checking account into a csv file. Do I just select all the data an paste into the cash flow database or do I need to format my csv file to look like cashflow first then paste. Am I follow the flow correctly? Your help/comments would be appreciated.
brazil here with u!
Last month I use this template and is powerfull!! Thanks. The problem is when I start a new month, the start page does not show the data of that new month, it shows the old one. how can I solve that?
I am trying to use your template but i need to set each month from the 26. of the month before to the 25. of the current month. That does not seem to be a big problem untill i try to have the Box „currently“ checked as my format does not look like MMMM YYYY. But like 26.Nov- 25.Dez 2022 or November - December 2022. Could you help me change the formula so it will still work. I would really love to use your template as it is amazing and covers all my other needs!!
Hi, thank you to share this with us, I have question about the month, so how set up another month? because when I add a month I need to change the price for spreading and when I change the price for the new month it will change for the previous month also :(
the month section is bugged for me, i think... the earnings is linking to the spending and its acummulating both spending and earnings. i didn't change anything, idk what happened
I love this template, only thing is (which may sound dumb but i’m new to this kind of thing), how do you reset your total property at the beginning of a new month?
I wonder what enhancements can be made to this with the new and improved formulas 2.0
Great template, great video, thank you for your work. I just got one question, I don't understand why you name "Spend" ou "Income" in the cashflow database ? Is it only because you can't erase "name" column but you don't want to write the name of every line every month ?
In the budget section, I want to add a column where I can see how much I've spent in the current month, can you please tell me how to do that?🥺
Is there any way to change the budget view inside of each month to that months spending?
thanks!
13:50 thank you!
Aw man, I really need help on this part: 3:30 I'm trying to figure out how you connected those dots for "SPEND"
is it possible for this budget planner to have the calendar start from 10th of each month till 10th of next month?
Hi! I need your help. For some reasons, I can't work my saving round with percentages, but with fixed amounts. For example, I need to save exactly, savings 1: $200, Saving 2: $150 and Savings 3: $100. How could I edit the savings formula to a fixed amount without messing up with the rest of formulas?
I need help with this, I really want to be able to use it properly!
Is this template no longer available? Couldn't get the link to work.
First of all, thank you for sharing such an amazing template and taking the time to explain it in detail!
I was able to completely adopt it except for one hitch. Since the monthly average's formula divides by the # of Months an expense is associated to, it seems the Over/Under formula by extension would only work with recurring expenses. Any suggestions on how to adapt it to work with one time annual expenses?
Should I just change the estimate from monthly to annual in that case? I feel that would get confusing really fast though!
Yes, this is only for recurring bills and expenses every month that are budgeted by broader categories. I can look into creating something more detailed in the future.
@@RedGregory Thank you! That would be amazing. For now, I'm just gonna change the Monthly Average formula to divide by 12 instead of the # of Months value. Cheers!
Thank you for such a great tutorial, it really helps me to be more productive.
I wished there is an option to have different accounts as for example I have multiple bank accounts and I would like to have summary and cashflow details for each one of them, for example in the cashflow I can change the type from "SPEND" to " TRANSFER" then in the dashboard, I have a database named "Payment Accounts" and it's linked with relation to the Cashflow, also whenever I have the income I can choose to which account I would like to add it,
I have tried to make a relation then roll up to count the sum but I don't know how to subtract the amount from this payment account that I have created when I make spend or transfer to another account.
I hope you understand me and you can suggest the solution to that.
Thanks.
what is starting amount index for ? I can't get it....I'm new at personal finance and I wanna know when should I use it?
Are you doing a guide on how to create a per month total? I have followed your previous tutorial for budget but it just adds on and not a per month total like you have in this tutorial..... Please help
Hi! great tool. I have a question: How do I copy recurring expenses from one month to the next? Thanks!
I would like to know this too. I thought the cashflow view would allow me to put in expenses that recurr every month so I don't have to fill those in each month. But that is not the case...
¡Gracias!
how do i start a new month? I tried to create one for jan but idk how to separate it from last month.
is it possible to copy it without having to going throu all those steps and getting the finale result in the video? please tell me how?
Is it better to have expenses and income in one table or split them?
Great video- how do you get it so that your budget only shows the values for one of your months?
I was struggling with the same thing
I found a sneaky work around which is duplicating the template 12 times 😁
Hi Red!
Thank you for such a phenomenal tutorial. However, I have a question, how to create a monthly budget for each month on the month's page. For instance, I am editing page November and want to edit a specific budget that does not depend on every month's data. Hoping you could reply to me. One more time, thank you so much ~~~~~~
Did you ever figure this part out? Everything works so well except the "Budget" table becomes useless after one month due to it not resetting. I guess maybe just looking at it under the "Month" table makes the "most" sense...but then what's the point outside of looking at the monthly averages.
Hi Red! I have a question, is it possible to change the budgets for a specific month while editing in the months page? Every time I try to add another budget or change it only for a specific month it changes the monthly base and every other month I have planned...
also looking for an answer to this!! :D
Wondering the same here!
Yes wondering about this myself. If you could make a follow up on this, I'm stuck after budgeting for the first month. @Red Gregory. Great tool!
Has anyone found a solution for this? Still looking for one
Up this comment again!
friend, how to separate expenses between personal and professional so that we can filter the totals according to filters added for this?
I think that this would be just perfect, as we would be integrating the professional with the personal, all in the same control, since many times we may suddenly need to "direct" capital from one to the other, apart from the very fact that we have exactly everything in the same control.
This being possible... it would be interesting to have a transfer function, so that we can easily direct capital from one department to another (personal/professional)
wow
how to set monthly to be period like 25nov-24dec and all data connect to that date
Hi there. I love this but my balance doesn't seem to work. The gross balance is the same as total earnings and doesn't seem to tally up with the spend and income columns. could you help with this please? I really don't know how to fix it
Nice
