I grew up on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. There are no venomous snakes or spiders. They are all harmless. In fact, I have never even seen any type of snake in the USVI myself.

We looked for these dangerous bugs all over. We picked up small one, big ones, grey ones, and red one, but none of them caused pain. The VA and medical infrastructure is not adequate- we don’t even have a cancer center or cardiologist. We fly to Puerto Rico for a lot of medical assistance and pray we don’t have an emergency in between.
Not recommended unless you have a nest egg to purchase a home. You should also be comfortable not having air conditioning to live on SSI. Electricity is expensive and drives up the cost of everything. The local people thrive on lower income based on not requiring a lot of luxuries that most Americans take for granted. Health care also requires travel stateside for anything other than basic services. America's Paradise is only that for the wealthy or healthy. Young minimalists love the carefree lifestyle and aren't concerned about when their cardiologist is coming to visit their island.

My family and i visited there about 3 years ago. Seems to me this person has never visited or lived there. They have over 1 gig internet there ,person is correct on power outages .Our greatest experience was near a beach where Rastafarians were cooking.We watched them prepared the food all natural, no salt or seasoning added.Best meal our family ever had.Now we learning to cook like that..This food called Ital was not for sale,they told us it was a gathering but anyone welcome for a dish.This was st.thomas we going back in 2025

I'm considering moving to the Virgin Islands. I originate from Buffalo, NY's East Side where crime and death are common. No place is "Paradise," but I look like most of the people there.
