- Raw-and very short-in studio clips of PJ Harvey during the recording sessions of her second studio album, Rid of Me, at Pachyderm Recording Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota during December 1992. From mic setups to flange vocal effects, and Steve Albini in flames, this was filmed by bassist Steve Vaughan and featured in the 1994 VHS-only documentary Reeling with PJ Harvey.

Rip Steve
One of the greatest recording engineers of all time. Will always appreciate his work on this amazing album.
Steve Albini on fucking fire
I wish I knew what mics were used on this record and how and where they were placed, and what effects, if any (delay?) were used in the mixing. Fantastic sound on this record... it's quite creative with its use of "space".
Brad Field Hello, I don't know in this sessions, but the same year and studio, Albini used an RE20, MD421 and a LOMO 19A9 on Cobain vocals. Anyway, the website of the Steve studio (electrical Audio) have a forum and you can post your question there. Pardon my english, greetings from Argentina.
1:00 apparently the flames were produced by a very flammable tape cleaning liquid that would quickly burn off. Steve is a brilliant engineer and clearly full of surprises!
FLAMING FEET??!!
I believe it was tapes from these sessions nirvana were given to hear how the studio equipment sounded before they went to record in utero in Minnesota a couple of months later. To be present during the making of both albums would be so rad!
Polly simply radiates beauty at this point in her life. little or no make up, she is the example of true beauty, an angel. What I would have given to be a fly on the wall during these sessions.
She's one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.
Polly is the best. Full doc here: ua-cam.com/video/VtYDx_2L1mo/v-deo.html
