Man I feel your pain. Building a pump track currently and your dirt is even better than what I'm working with. My tiller won't even break it up so I'm working with chunks of almost pure clay. Nice work!
Great video dude! I too was making those mistakes which you were discussing in the video and it made me think that I was doing something wrong! So now that I've seen this I will try these for myself!! Also saw some of your other videos and they are cool so I am going to subscribe!!
Got super sticky clay at our bikepark here in California. Your tip to do the final shaping with really wet mud is spot on! That’s how I get them super smooth. Then fill in cracks with fine powder like dirt and wet before riding!
I had dry clay that was clumpy so I packed it but it was clumpy so I watered it to soften it up but then the dirt sticked to my shovel and made it worse
Mate I’ve been digging and building trails for years but one hot tip I just learned from talking to the old man when working with clay is to soak your shovel in sump oil overnight. It stops the clay sticking to the shovel for about half an hour of work. If you have several shovels or tools you can soak them all. Great work and keep diggin!
When your Ramp is wet any glossy just like you like her. Ad I. Som sand and dehydrated lime into the mix. Incorporate it every time you have to rebuild and reshape.
