Awesome review Mitch , how good are those pick ups aye, I got to get them in my next axe , great looking guitar mate , awesome playing to. Great job mate 🤘🤘🤘
@@mikemitchell7529 Thanks! That was the only thing keeping me from considering these things. I'm not a big fan of when you can feel the strips in a 5 piece neck, I like everything to be flush
Have you checked your frets with a fret rocker? I tried out this model yesterday. Looks great, neck is perfect, Fishman Fluence are superb. Frets ends done very nicely. But, I put a fret rocker over the frets and 3rd and 9th were way high. At the higher register they were all over the place. Seems Ibanez (Fujigen who make this for Ibanez) spent all their time dressing the ends and no time levelling them. A Prestige model costing this much should have level frets. CTS pots would be nice, this has Alpha pots. Again on a Prestige model you want the very best. Otherwise an excellent guitar.
That's a good point. I have not checked with a fret rocker. Put it this way, I've never noticed frets not being level but I would expect it to be for the price point. Cheers!
@@mikemitchell7529 I contacted another retailer who had one, asked the tech to check the frets and sure enough there were some not perfectly level on that one either. Thankfully he said he would do a level, crown and polish before mailing out the guitar. Hopefully get it Friday.
@@mikemitchell7529 First impressions already made when I played one at Andertons. Loved to look, weight, balance, playability and tones. Binding looks great, side dots are very clear, bridge is comfortable, neck feels great. Pickups are not sterile IMO like some people have labeled them. The neck is clear, but rounded and warm in position 2. It's a very good guitar and highly adaptable to any music genre. This goes way beyond just being a shredder's guitar for metal. Only complaint is finding one with properly levelled frets. Thankfully I found a retailer who is doing a fret level, crown and polish pre-delivery at no additional cost.
Sorry, I might have more clear. When I look at 3:40, there`s a glowing on 5th-6th frets. But then I realized it could be due to angle of light as it`s not present for rest of the video :)@@mikemitchell7529
Hey, Is the finish of the guitar worn or would it look new again if you wiped off the oils? Im considering buying this guitar but I would want it to look as good as it does for several years at least.
I'm afraid it's there permanently there for me. I get the same patch with any Satin type finishes on guitar. If you're not a greasy caveman like me, you should be fine lol

Hey I agree with you there, in hindsight I wish I had all the talking points up louder to be more consistent. Thanks for the feedback and the compliment on the playing, thanks for watching!
Just picked up this exact guitar. It’s a chug machine. I’ve had a few RG’s, none have chugged like this thing. It’s like…. Perfect.
Awesome glad you're enjoying it! Same here I'd never sell this
Chugasaurus Rex :)
You know your stuff! Another great video!

That bridge pickup sounds so good to me.
Agreed, to me, the bridge pick up is tight but clear at the same time.
Man good review. Awesome job thanks
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Great video and review Mike.
Thanks Ben! Yeah just put on a fresh set of strings so figured it was the perfect time to do it.
Awesome review Mitch , how good are those pick ups aye, I got to get them in my next axe , great looking guitar mate , awesome playing to. Great job mate 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks Evan! Oh absolutely, I fricken love these pick ups haha. They have the horsepower but keep the clarity. thanks very much!

nice review mitch, thanks for showing this lovely guitar it's just so beautiful. how is the battery life, did you change it once in 18 month?
Thanks for watching, appreciate it. Battery life is good. Just changed my first Battery out now. Lasted just shy of 2 years
Killer guitar man I own the burgundy one. Tenx for the awesome demo🤟😎
Thanks for watching! Nice one, they're bloody good guitars ae. I'd never sell mine
Lookin good m8
😆 hahaha, Thanks Alf, just trying to work on my health more lately. Swimming in Summer Bay Helps
Nice review! Can you feel the divets in the wenge or is the neck completely smooth?
Thank you! Neck feels completely smooth to me due to the oil/finish they put on the back of the neck

Does the passive voice change the feel also or just the sound
@VIB1ON I'd say it changes the feel, you can dig in w your picking hand and it makes more difference to the output in my opinion

It's an excellent guitar. Love it in fact!
I have the same guitar, however, the pickups are both ceramic.
Yes! You're absolutely right, my bad on that one
Would love to have this guitar with an Evertune bridge
That'd be cool, never played an evertune guitar but seems like awesome technology
They have one. RG5121ET
Great guitar, between what happened to 5th-6th frets? they shine like a crazy diamond :/
Sorry, I'm unsure what you mean? Never had any issues w the frets on this guitar

@purulence666 OH haha, I see what you mean. Yes, I have foward facing lights off camera and the Fretboard must of caught it there!
How much does this one cost new?
I paid $2500 NZ Dollars for it about 3 years ago. Works out to be around $1600 US Dollars

Is it worth to clear my pockets and buy this beauty? i have rg631. But this is different level 😁
This guitar is phenomenal, would never sell it. If you're keen on getting one, try one in a shop first, have a look at the neck joint too.
@@mikemitchell7529 thx. And what about neck? Is super wizard different than nitro wizard which i played? Or its just slimmer? Thank you

How often do you have to change the battery on this one?
Not very often. I've had my current battery in for 1.5 years and still goes great 👍
Weird I have had 37 bolt on guitars and never had the cracks in neck. Just lucky I guess
That's a lot of guitars! Yeah I own 2 others and this one and all seemed to have it. Just superficial though so should be all good
