The 1st time I took a 747 across the Atlantic. When I entered the craft I thought-"there's no way this thing is getting off the ground!" I couldn't even see the front of the plane ! When we took off I was pushed right back into the cushioning of my seat and when we lifted off I felt like an astronaut because of the steep angle of climb and the ongoing acceleration. I felt like it was more of a blast off than a take off. I was impressed and overall it was a great flight. Later on I flew in military cargo transport versions. We literally climbed up ladders to get to our seats up in the hump. It was like flying in a cave- no windows. I cannot recall regular seats either, though I may be mistaken on that as it was long ago. I seem to recall sitting in net seats with the old canvas strap with the male/female hookups. Anyway, flying in a 747 with no windows is freaky. My first blast off was the best.
I used to live literally between the runways at Everett(KPAE) in the old Naval housing complex. When they were using the 34's, I would watch 74's and Trip7's launch. I swear I couldn't count to 10 before they were rotating out to head over to Moses Lake...totally empty. They'd virtually do a tail stand and make the right turn before overflying the factory at the north end. Impressive!
Nice to see an oldie still doing what it does best! Not a lot of JT9D's still making noise these days and they are declining. Sadly JT8D's too and worse the JT3D is very limited in use, mostly the B-52. I love older engines, some smoke, some noise, and a lot of soul!
That was empty. I flew 747's at that exact airline 10 years ago in 2006. I can remember going to the END of the runway in Hong Kong and pulling the airplane off the ground short of the "rotate" call, and literally pulling it off the end of the pavement and watching to make sure that we were climbing. Above the water, since we were only doing 200 feet per minute...We were OBVIOUSLY overloaded!
I take it the 747-200 was one of the first built as compared to the 747-400 and the 747-800. Correct??? Always amazing to me how they can get something that heavy and get it in the air.
This ha to be taken by someone with access to be that close to the runway. Most places it is impossible for the public to get anywhere near or be that close! Great shot!
The good old Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines! That's what made the 747 special. But I forgot to mention that the 777x is gonna ruin everything. So, probably gonna start my own aircraft company, and Ima try to rebuild the JT9D. Just add a few efficiency upgrades to it, and it could go in service again. And yes, Ima also build the 747 again, using the classic design you see in the vid, with composite material, glass cockpit, fuel efficient................ I'M NOT GONNA LET THE 777X WIN!!
It is quite fast for this heavy beast with it's weight almost 300 tons and with a 70s engine. You will be shocked from the rate of climb and speed of the SP variant. ( SP- special performance )
do you have any footage of these powerful Boeing Aircraft moving at 140+ at takeoff and eventually climbing at 10,000fpm, say even military aircraft or at Boeing Airfield in Washington Moses Lake doing both performance takeoffs? Thank-you 😎
Agree...the A380 looks like it has hydrocephalus! upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ea/Hydrocephalus-baby.jpg/200px-Hydrocephalus-baby.jpg

Every single time any aircraft takes off is a symbol of humanity's success
more like every time one lands

Who gave humans the intellect and raw materials to make things like this, though?

B747-200 in 2015. Legendary.
Airforceproud95 I got one too, in Belgrade. TransAvia Export 747-200F
+Airforceproud95 totally not expecting you here trollmeister :))
+Andrei Padure ?
+AirlinersHD I follow Airforceproud on youtube and I like his troll videos on fsx
Andrei Padure Thanks!
magnificent aircraft, never tire of watching these clips.
Most beautiful subsonic airplane ever made. Perfect lines, angles, curves, and proportions.
Hard to believe those planes can carry over 160 tons of fuel and yet they take off like a Seagull in the wind. Awesome!
Even as a grown woman, I can’t help to be amazed.

Lovely to see that Kalitia are still operating the "classic" 747's. It is super super noisy compared to the newer 747's too.
Great Video! Love this classic aircraft :-)
It's always nice to see a vintage plane take off today :)
747-200 a true classic, and a superb shot

Nice to see the B742 still flying, great job filming this beauty!
CYUL Plane Spotter how do you differentiate the 747 classics from the 400?
A super shot its a like from me
Ernest Johnson Thank you !
god
+Cargospotter nice vid how you get it
how can I join you
how can I join you
May God be all the way, with those Gentlemen that are flying those superb aircrafts.
Fantastic video mate! Liked!
With the title, all I can think about is that kids show Little Einsteins. SUPER FAST. Oh the joys of having children.
Very nice! Liked
Awesome video!
Phenomenal!! Hope they keep her flying a while longer, she's still the legendary Queen!
Wow what a nice takeoff.....
Amazing catch mate, the old girl sounded AMAZING!!
Always a pleasure seeing the Queen of the Skies. Sadly, they are fast disappearing in Singapore as well as everywhere. Great video!

Dude that was epic liked
very nice flight
I love the way airplanes sound!
Beautiful plane and awesome capture!
For such an old girl she's in pristine condition! Great!
Nice Catch Bud :-)
Wow!!! That was crazy fast! Beautiful old 742! Excellent video! :D
LOVE that. Great catch!!!
Awesome airplane :D
Probably a little bit empty for this take-off!
The 747 is like Bob Marley, true legend!
Thank for sharing
ABMNS PRODUCTION Don't worry,be happy. :)
Wow stunning catch, well done!!
Nice job
This sort-off sounds like my friends mic on skype.
Wow, what a professional video and beautiful
Super wie immer ;)

There is no 747-800. It is called 747-8
i love 747.
To this day, these behemoths in the sky amaze me.
You have a beautiful view there!
Very nice! Sad that 737CL and 747/100/200/300/SP are going out so soon :(
Yeah bro, the CL series. It was truely a classic
LatvianAviationGuy Its really sad for us avgeeks :(
The noise of the engine going higher 😲
That exact plane and registration was the first B747 I ever saw!
This ha to be taken by someone with access to be that close to the runway. Most places it is impossible for the public to get anywhere near or be that close! Great shot!

Also, first comment :D
I love blue green 747s and I also love the super fast ones don’t they go 500 miles an hour
I sometimes see a Kalita 747-200 over my house(in England) but rare to see now :(
fly high my plane friend...fly high.....
I still cannot believe that I may be flying one of those in the near future if I get my pilots licence next year. Think the RAAF has some 74's
I'm very new to this, was that a cargo due to the lack of windows, and was it super light too?
Again one of the slowest take offs I have seen

Even with derated thrust the 747 still looks like a rocket when flying light.
Warm smell of Kalitta, rising up through the air.
You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave....
It is a funny name for a US based cargo carrier.
With DoD contracts, they won't be going bankrupt anytime soon!
I don't know,call me greedy but I want every 747 I see.
Do you know what the takeoff velocity was?
I've seen this taking off early morning from Sharjah airport
That was dangerous fast
It looks really slow amazing how they get up in the air the size of them ha
When you're a pilot but your girl says she's home alone.
Awesome machines, when you think about it. I mean, just look at it!
Ridicolous air bus

nice !!!!! :)
such a big head!
747-200 combi, passengers in upper deck, cargo in lower deck
Looked pretty normal to me.
i would like the permission to use this video for HS senior video.
Nicht schlecht der Sound
Dennis Movieplanespotting Nicht schlecht?!? Fucking GREAT!
Same day delivery option box was checked.
35 seconds of take off from ground
like it
I work on the custodial crew at the city airport, we clean these big boys for a living.
It's not super fast the take-off, it only be that it rotated in 165 knots if it was fast, it's gonna be 290 knots to rotate...
Jumbo is a super plane.
Cargo boys want to go home fast =]
0-0 wow
RÉAL AMERICA
I have been on it to go to Florida ha
sounds kinda like a c5
Do not...under any circumstances interfere with a jumbo jet take off...you will probably regret it
28K views and not even a single comment?
its very dengerus to do that yes he have 4 engines but this is too dengerus
Not really, pilots know how to fly it so they know the limits of it
how that super fast
You call that fast, pfft. The 747 can go A LOT faster than THAT.
Sounds like my PS4
Salle A2 revisited
They do that when they are empty.
That's normal take off speed at 170 knots!
how is that fast?
25.09.2015 Dear Video Webers, In precisely 10 (ten) seconds from now. tyre technology will be put to it's ultimate test ... < DUNLOP> Always ahead !!
I flew in a PanAm Jumbo.
Of hij was leeg.Of die piloot had er zin aan.
A 747 is ugly? I think not. An A380 is considered by most to be the ugliest turd in the sky.
Agree! A380 are so ugly..
You mean sexy
+Henk de Baksteen oh yes, it looks like a big piece of metal with wings... #BoeingFTW
PacificPlays Agree! I think the wings look terrible, even as the whole plane. #BoeingFTW
Agree...the A380 looks like it has hydrocephalus! upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ea/Hydrocephalus-baby.jpg/200px-Hydrocephalus-baby.jpg
BOEING 7447
Crap is that a -200! That’s old!
Must be very empty!
absolutely empty
