    This is a very enjoyable video. It's nice to see you guys so happy having realized your dream as a result of hard work and tremendous skill. The first shots of you in the kitchen looked like you were in a beautiful home, not a camper. Congratulations! Your channel is very inspirational. It's becoming one of my favorite channels. I'm looking forward to following your adventures for a long time. BTW, the production level of your videos is absolutely fantastic. Keep up the good work.

    Its so awesome you can go skiing and leave your dogs in a protected, temperature controlled mini home while you enjoy the slopes or whatever (skiing, biking, out to restos) so nice.

    Season 1 episode 1. I guess the build series is basically complete. The camper looks amazing. Looking forward to a build/cost sheet. My over/under guesstimate on parts + vehicle is $50k. If you value your time (labor + design + research), I think the over under is closer to $90k. So a relative bargain compared to what’s out there.

    You could glass bead the shower door. ..........even do a taped off design in it!..........I was out your way 2 yr. ago. We went to Yosemite Valley then down to the big trees, after that we headed over to Lake Havasu City. I wanted to take 120 to 395 but didn't see a way to the trees. That was a 10,000 mile road trip, a little over 30 days. Maybe we will get back that way someday. It looks like your truck is working out for you! Do you think that the 1"foam is enough insulation or do you think you should have more?

    • @AmbitionStrikes
      @AmbitionStrikes  3 роки тому +2

      That is a really good idea! Funny enough that may be one of the only tools we don't currently own... 😂 We are honestly too warm in the camper with the diesel heater so right now we are very happy with the 1" foam. Come summertime we plan to install a mini split a/c unit and will report back on how we feel about the r-value!

      Hi Caleb! To control moisture inside we had our rooftop vent above the bed blowing hot air out constantly. This caused the snow on the roof to melt and form icicles!

    I just love this truck camper build series. Why is it the truck camper manufacturers can't come up with such a smart design? How about pitching your design to one of them? Scoutcampers offers some lightweight campers using a similar construction technique but yours is so much better.

    Hi, you should use a broom instead of a shovel to remove the snow, that way it won't scratch the paint. Trust me where I live, that is what we use. If we wouldn't, our car paint wouldn't last a year. Have fun and be safe. 🤙

    Was that the first time your dogs saw that deep of snow? I remember when I was a kid we had a beagle mix. We had road construction going on our street. We got a big storm and the hole out in front of our house for the sewers was full of water. My brother and I were on one side our dog was on the other. Our dog decided that she was going jump and run over to us. I think it was a big surprise that that puddle was a lot deeper than she thought. Once she came to the surface and got out of the water she really never like the water again. Plus for a few days she would not leave my side.

    I noticed in your build video you guys used R5 foam board, I'm just wondering if you were plenty warm during the blizzard? • @AmbitionStrikes
      @AmbitionStrikes  3 роки тому +1

      Yes even at temps as low as -12F we were plenty warm. In fact we always leave our roof vent open, fan on low and a window slightly cracked to get good air flow and keep humidity down. The diesel heater is still on its lowest setting. While it's only R5 having it be continuous with no thermal bridging is the key.
