Just what I was looking for, I'm creating a sewer scene and wanted to use big stonework for the arch, I really didn't fancy manually doing the whole length of that thing, thanks man!
There is no need to deal with groups when attaching multiple objects. Select all you want to be attached, isolate, select one object, attach list, select all, and attach.
They're both valid. The reason grouping is a good workflow is you're removing the need to isolate, and keep it organized in the outliner. For example, the more objects you have, the more cluttered the outliner will be, and having it grouped just helps with that. You could also parent etc.

+1 Indeed very useful
Data channel modifier is one of Max's most powerful but underused tools - nice tutorial BTW.
So true, and glad you liked it!
procedural modeling in max is king skill, more please!
Great video! for the Attach at minute 2, its faster if you select them, hide everything else, and attach with the list and select everything
Thank you! And definitely that's also a really solid technique! 💪

Thanx! A bit more info about the data channel setup would have been great. And a link to the delete face modifier you are using.
Absolutely! And that's a great point, i'm looking to do a video more focused on that specifically. Until then i'll pin a comment with that info
@bron lebron Yeah I hear you, it's a pretty illusive modifier with not many clear tutorials. I plan on shining some light on it here soon

why group the bricks before attaching them? I dont get what is the benfit of group and ungrouping.. instead of just attaching to one object.
This was because I knew I would want to edit that group once the array was in place, and in theory could do this with multiple groups.
