You are, without doubt, one of the best guitar teachers I have come across. Every lesson is full of insightful ideas that can be put immediately to use.
The Arabic melody that you hear when you played the Spanish has an explanation. There is a connection. Way back in the day Spain was almost entirely ruled by the Moors for over 700 years. Hence the Arabic influence is present in Spanish architecture, music, cuisine, as well with other cultural similarities.
And, interestingly, the word "guitar" < Spanish guitarra < Arabic kītārah ≪ Greek kithára (dictionary.com)
During the spread of Islam the muslims invaded southern ibera and eventually conquered the entire iberian peninsula. This is also true for all of North Africa, southern italy and southern france. Multible raids and conquests darkened the general skintone of the population trough years of population replacement. Spaniards are therefore a little darker than what they used to be.
Lord Timmy i thought we r here for somw good music not for our ancestors history class -_-
Ba A but before all of that there where the Romans who influenced the Spanish language and Arabic people influenced there music
OMG! As of Portuguese decent, I heard this growing up!
him: "you all know this"
me: pauses video and looks up chords x)

I've been playing some Spanish riffs and chords for quite awhile and never really understood why it connected (through trial and error). This lesson really helped bring it to a higher level of understanding. Thanks and keep up the great lessons.
Fantastic.......just learnt how easy it is to get the sounds I am after. You just told me in different way that connected with my mind. Brilliant!!

I was searching throughout UA-cam for something like this. At last I got a way ! Thanks
You make it seem so simple and understandable!!
Took a complex subject and simplified it nicely. Great for the intermediate player to start applying flamenco style techniques without being overwhelmed.
Wow wow wow.
Opens a thrilling new door in front of my young happy playing.
What a pity it's the middle of the night and my neighbours probably would'nt be as happy as I would, with me experiencing your lesson right now.
Thank you so much "sir" !
6'18 will remain as kind of a magical moment for me.
Gotta say, this is awesome. Perfectly lined up with what I needed at this very time to!
Great video. You really seem to know your stuff. I don't know how to play yet, but I love Spanish guitar sound for many years. At last it's time to learn and get my hands connected with my heart, mind and soul.

this is one of the most awesome guitar lessons ive ever seen! seems so fun thank you so much
I love these lessons, very concise and clear...thank you!
what a great channel, very rich and informative, information that I rarely find so easily and compact and deep and useful, looks like you're an amazing guy.
Nice work! I love the sounds of spanish style. Thanks for sharing.
From a beginner: Started fiddling with wife’s guitar a year ago. Felt like I got further in the last few days with you and this song than the whole prior year. And unlike all the guitar book songs, everyone likes to hear it.
You are a Great, patient teacher. Only because I am a real novice and for others like me, if you could please spell the chord fingering, especially the unusual fingered ones, out one time, a little slower and one finger at a time so that we see and it sinks in. Then can play it back a million times til we get it.
Knowledge truly is power.
Every video, I learn a lot. Respect to you man. Thank you very much
Wow! THis is amazing! Thanks a lot for the lesson and theory. This looks like a magic when you play!
You Sir are my favourite guitar educator! Well done, and fun.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are a true blessing!
This is one of the strongest lessons on the net. Hope others find it soon
You are a pool of great and simple inspirations - thank you for these teaching ! :)
Thank you so much, I have learned more from you in this video than I have in years tyring to watch other flamenco videos. Please make more flamenco style videos in the future.
Yeah we have to recognize that this amazing person knows how to teach properly! I'm a Big critic myself and i Say Bravo and good job ! Every single video that he does is worth to watch! Always i learn something new! Keep the good job brother! Saludos desde Medellín
Thanks for this. One of the first 'tunes' I learned on guitar was Malaguena, and I still use it today by segueing from it into Stairway . I wish I had studied this style more over the years and I've just had a very satisfying few hours 'doodling' with the essence of your tutorial. I didn't look at the tab, rather went by ear and mistakenly started with top e 5-4-1-0. This worked as well, so wondered how that fits in with the 'theory' (which after 40 odd years I'm now starting to study). Thanks again.
Amazing and great for a beginner like myself to follow :) Thankyou so much for this amazing education!
The lesson wich i was looking for, thanks a lot, your awesome
Thanks for a great lesson I've been obsessed with harmonic minor scales lately I always love the E minor harmonic and A minor harmonic and never really realized it's a phrygian

Great teacher and player. Thank you very much for your great lessons.
Hey, I just wanted to say great video, I love that you are consistent with your videos :). Also, it would be awesome if you covered an arrangement of 'Lying Eyes' by The Eagles because I'd love to learn that song on acoustic but there aren't many fingerstyle tutorials out there.
This is not a beginners lesson. I love it.
maybe the best guitar instructor out there on youtube
Just...... Awesome Great - No words to describe your lessons. Mucho Gracious Amigo !!!
Thanks i just got my nylon back! Inspired now!!

I,ve been waiting a long time for this lesson. Awesome guitar "Professor"!!!! Within an hour after watching this, I was playing the way I,ve been wanting to play for a long time. I,ve always wanted to play like Peter White of Al Stewarts band when he played "On the Border".. Ottmar and Govi are similar. Thanks
