Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Matthew Isaias Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I just realized how the choice of playable characters let me walk into the trap of believing it would be the final (or at least close to final) mission. Storytellingwise that felt like a good payoff, although I would have loved to play all five again some time later.
Wonderful speech and an amazing game :) I played through Commandos and Desperados (and Robin Hood) games and I'm very glad the genre returned in a good style :) I'd love to see Commandos type game set in Ancient Rome... (maybe Asterix based :D)
Poor Driver, they tried to balance him in Commandos by giving him a machine gun, but I believe he only has it in like 3 missions or something in all others he just carries a pistol and medkit. In Commandos 2 all commandos can drive vehicles, except for the tank you get in the last mission, and use machine guns. Poor driver
True, but worth mentioning also that in Commandos 2 they tried to change the Driver into a handy trapper guy with different nades and wires. It was an interesting idea and made him useful and fun to play in a few missions (in my opinion). But I guess Commandos 2 (in all its glory) suffered a bit from too many common skills - almost every character became a one-man-army, able to stun, tie, drag, shoot, drive. It was well visible in Castle Colditz where you could start with any of Green Beret, Sniper or Driver and clear most of the map. I lost the need to switch characters, especially when I had the Diver, who was most versatile (throwing knife).
@@giampaolomannucci8281 Missions 15/16/17 were planned DLC mission that never released, and mission 11 has a 4th character that joins mid-mission. So yeah, the graph is not entirely correct.
May main gripe with the game, was its lack of awareness with the end mission log vs the core theme. A stealth game that tells you to speed run the level and avoid the reload mechanic as it wont refund you the time required for 1 of the 3 side objectives. Basically is asking you to stop playing the game and start playing a walkthrough of the most efficient predefined moves.
Achievements are suggestions of different additional challenges you can do, to have fun replaying this mission. They are not mandatory in any way, and the fact, that they can go sometimes against intended gameplay/theme, is exactly the reason, why they don't show you list of achievements at the first playthrough, only after you finish mission once.
I'm not even talking about the achievements. I'm talking straight up the mission badges at the end. It quite literally was on your face at the end of every mission telling you. "You didn't do any of this". That is not a good way to present optional challenges. That is telling the player how they failed at the mission they just did. You want to present them as optional. First of all, dont put them at the end screen of each mission as a big checklist of things you did and didn't do.
More importantly, its not fun to replay a mission because they gave you a list chores you missed. If you have a checklist of things to do the developer wants you to do, it forces playes to see it aas an specific replay path. Most that take multiple runs of the same level to accomplish. Moritz knows the levels get repetitive, he explained why they made them all have different visuals and use different characters. Because they get really repetitive if they dont. Replaying the missions has a magnified effect of repetitiveness. And its even more of a chore, if you aren't even playing it to try another way of your choice, but instead to complete a check list.
While it was a cool idea, they fell short big time. When you end up giving all characters a pistol, what's even the point of having ninjas? Also samurais without sword fights. I give it a rating of 3 Meh
@@bracket4 they're not actually "a cheat" because there is a balance to it (pistols being very loud and having only a few shots, what @erdelf said). Also the samurai - you cannot kill him alone, having pistol or not...
Did you even play the game or are you just making an opinion of it from watching the talk? The pistol is just for when everything goes wrong or for specific enemies with thicker armor.
Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines is one of the games that kickstarted my interest in gaming, was super happy to see the return of the genre

The demo is the reason I bought this great game. Wish more games do this.
yeah, same.
What a great speaker and communicator; I would watch Moritz Wagner speak on anything. Love this game, as well.
Episode with Moritz coming up on the Road Maps podcast very very soon!
This game is awesome.
+1 for "Eierlegendewollmilchsau" !

Very nice talk, great drawing skills, amazing game.
+1 to "Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty" being the best game in the genre.
Great game

if I buy the base game on epic, will DLC's bought from steam "integrate"?

34:03 mission 9-15, 7-16 and 6-11 also gives you the same characters
you did it 5 times yet ended up lying :/
I knew that someone will go OCD over this :P I was also looking for similarities yet I did not found any immediately and just trust the guy.
@@VanHugaDong I'm sure there's more that I'm missing, these 3 combos just stood up to me and I couldn't ignore them

Yeah and its terrible. How many mission did you replay to do them all? 40?

You only have a few shots and the pistols are very loud.. basically only useful for edge cases and samurai
Never used the guns. It's nice to be given the option in game-play, but you can feel they're basically a cheat.
