This is honestly one of yhe most concise and detailed video I have seen on this. Wonderful job covering fst more things than I have seen alot of people cover. I didnt even think of water bottles thats an excellent idea! I live in the pacific northerwest so we font have alot of issues apart from bad wind storms but we do have that ever hanging threat of earthquakes so alot of this is super helpful as fsr as future evacuation plans! If I can add one more thing. If you do not have someone with a car and have to walk to leace your home have a rolly csrt like one of those laundry ones people use for groceries. Or some totes have wheels with a handle. Somethin you can pack you babies in with some basic supplies. Not having a car doeant mean you and your pets cant get out or away!
they also make heating packets for shipping reptiles that don't overheat. I found them at my local pet store. I have so many stocked up for cold winter outages I also have a plan for house fires, and a detailed plan if the fire is caused by a heating element. I make sure to only use quality heat panels, but it's still a big fear of mine
My daughter woke me up this morning. Mom we lost problem we need to check the reptiles. That is the problem I don't have anyone to take my reptiles collect! Also don't forget to prepare for your family members!
I really love your videos!! I've learned quite a bit, and enjoyed the time very much. The chemistry between you and your husband is fun to watch, and I find myself in a better mood every time I watch your videos. Thank you!
I have a usb powered heat mat I have stored away just in case I need to travel with my beardie (though so far he hasn't needed it). It can plug into anything including the external battery packs I use for my iphone and uses very little power. If anyone has access to that sort of thing it might be useful. Even if it is a long term power-outage, I feel I could feed Kevin and leave him to have a nap on his mat for an hour to digest safely without wasting too much battery. I also have plans to find a power strip with an internal battery to save a little extra juice just in case.
@@ellesreptiles I got it from aliexpress. Very cheap purchase and has three temps. I never needed to go above the lowest setting as it heats up and retains it for a surprisingly long time.
It’s pricey but worth the security, I found that RockPals electric/solar generators are quite long lasting and in case of long term you can use solar panels to recharge. Definitely gives me peace of mind when the power goes out
You are so good at this. The advice is great and I think I will look into getting some of the things needed. My main thing would be heating packs or cooling for crested gecko and tarantulas. I had not thought of the cooling down part of the little critters thank you for that.😃 GOD BLESS 🐢🦎🐍💖
I just went to petsmart for hornworms and saw baby bearded dragons that looked like twigs😭😭😡I really hate those chain reptile stores that neglect their reptiles😔

I buy a 10 pack of reptile heating pads, the one's they use for shipping from pangea reptiles
Great idea! I didn't know they sold them 😊
Amazon also sells them too in a 10 pack as well

Thank you for this! I am from Oklahoma, and we now have 2 reptiles and I have had so much anxiety about what to do when tornados come, so helpful
Tornados are definitely anxiety inducing. I'm glad I could help! 😊
Thank you Elle. Water bottles in the freezer will provide cooling for the animals along with drinking water once melted.

So glad you made this video! I haven’t seen many on this topic. You did a great job, as always! :)
Thank you so much! 🥰

Oh, that's awesome! Did it come from Amazon? I should get one of those too 🤔

That's brilliant!!!
Snake Discovery has good ideas about emergency situations too. They talk more about having a large collection in an emergency.
Such a great video for new reptile owners and current
