Dean Forest Railway Gala, May 20 2023

The Spring Steam Gala was held in wonderful weather. Three engines were in steam. GW 2-6-2 small Prairie No 5541, GW 0-6-0 pannier tank 9681 newly back in service, and GW 0-6-0 small dock tank No 1369 visiting from the South Devon Railway. A timetable full of variety and trains that ran to time throughout the day made Saturday’s visit a great success.

Glad you spotted yourself on the platform!. I thought the gala was one of the best I had been to in quite a while, helped of course by the perfect weather. All three locos performed faultlessly and the timetable was kept to throughout the day - something that doesn't happen in most steam galas!
