Yes noticed that the fleet started off with Europheinix branding ,and now they are all branded ROG ,but what the hell ? Last year I ordered from JM Models of Settle North Yorkshire a resprayed Euro 37608 with centre toplight ,so an alternative version to the new Bachmann release ,had it DCC fitted to top and tail with it and they are amazing together, it is a good respray considering the complexity of the livery ,and it is a fab name -Andromida etched nameplates ! Loved your review and will start the tea and watch you all over again !Many many thanks for your superb review been so very helpful ,cheers Nick Redshed .

Beautiful model. I found the sound to be very good but once again I hear the purchaser of a model that cost £200! or more talking about changing a speaker in order for it to sound "right." I just don't understand it. Why not send it back to Bachmann and tell them that for £200 you want the right speaker in it? Honestly Richard it is a very beautiful model and I like the coast feature and the F5 feature. I am strictly DC on my layout but if anything can tempt me to go DCC it would be a sound fitted Class 37. Cheers, David.
Smashing model. I did see the real ones earlier this year passing through Basingstoke whilst sat in traffic! Didn't know the livery exsisted until i saw them but definitely stood out.

Great looking loco , function 5 can be used to realistically control the speed by activating it first before setting off . With a full rake of wagons behind turn speed up full and then operate F5 on and off to slowly increase speed Cheers......Peter
I love 37's and this is very nice but, I would have liked a split headcode version. Bachmann has done this model proud. The sound is great and features. Still expensive from Bachmammand a bit out of my price bracket.

Hi New Junction, We have recently purchased this model and find th sound to be quite quiet compared to TTS and Legoman Biffo sets, In the manual it says to change the CV from 1-128 or use function F15 but when we have tried both nothing seems to increase the sound. Any idea's? we are using a NCE Pro Cab

Well function 15 did not make much difference for me, i changed the master volume cv and that made the loco quite a bit louder, i found out what to do on Bachmann's web site for this loco, took me awhile to find it and understand it, i changed CV 63 from 128 to 192 i think, you better check with Bachmann in case i remembered this wrong haha, cheers...Mal

Oh I urge I insist I demand that you go for the Hornby Colas 027 Charlotte, it's awesome every sense of the word, just begging to be tts ed! Please do a review on it if you purchase it. Yet again I bought 023 Stella as a full respray from Jm Models last year, and again a good job done on it. Getting a straight line up on the side was not easy with the loco sides being corrugated but I suppose that applied to the real thing! The orange is more intense on 027 than mine, not sure which is correct! Please consider it, you won't be disappointed, cheers again Nick.
Maybe this has already crossed your mind - Why don't you get a cheap modern image random EMU/DMU for the Europhoenix tractors to haul, as if they are going off for a refurb or re-spray or something! A Hornby Networker with a couple of MK1 adaptor coaches for example. That would look very prototypical :)

I was totally ripped off one of the locos alone was worth that plus I had an original HST in British rail livery! now I'm nearly 40 I want another one but just can't afford it plus I don't have the space for one! anyway keep up the good work chap!
My colas rail class 37 in N gauge was £245, but it does have cablights and ZIMO Digitrains DCC Sound, Hornby TTS sound chips are bloody awful in comparison with the zimo

What a loco!! only one issue seeing these loco's at least weekly I noticed there's no Rail Operations Group branding on the sides....did Bachmann fail getting the licenceing? that's the only major let down for me...but the sound is spot on!
@@NewJunction I've got one myself last week. I was really surprised to find it had an active brake on Function 6. It's not as good as some of the others from the likes of digitrains but I'm sure adjusting the CVs will sort that. I tested it on a loop at full speed and it reduces the braking distance by about half so quite difficult to judge. I've seen several reviews and none of them have mentioned it so don't think people realise it has it and assume it's just a brake sound. I'm guessing this is another new feature from Bachmann as I havn't seen it on any other locos, out of the box.
Are we still having to put up with the tail lights being illuminated whilst pulling a train? All those features and we can't get toggle-able tail lights? Come on, Bachmann! I love the flange squeal, though. I still think that's one of the best features ever added to DCC sound. She is a stunning model and definitely suits your layout well but I have to say a bit too pricey for my liking. A few more features like the toggle-able tail lights and a motorized roof fan would have been nice. Mike.

I have fitted TTS chips to my 37s and the lights still work ok, did you use a 8 pin to 21 pin adaptor?

What's the max cv setting for volume? I find the default setting a little low.
According to the manual its 128 but i changed mine from 1 to 128 and noticed no difference in the sound volume
How could I do cold start with the locomotive?
No mention of the brake function on F6 Richard?

there is a switch on the bottom so you can turn off tail lights
Pitty they haven't come up with a built in uncoupling system for loco' s by now or have they?
You can do it with wel.placed magnets in the track.
