Did you just use a short chain for the tie for it, then lace it through your single crochet row, or did you attach two smaller chains on either side? Just made this. Loved it! Although I've never done so many chain stitches...OmG. After the first couple of rows I did my single crochets into the top stitch of the chain 5, instead of the space. It looked better. I goofed up on the first row or two, so that I ended up decreasing when I didn't mean to. But this pattern is very forgiving, so it still looks great. Also I did a few extra edging rows on the bottom. Again, love this!

    Ok, now my questions: You mentioned to add 4 additional chain blocks for each inch the person is bigger (I'm a size 16). However you didn't mention if that mains I have to reduce more rows (see time 7:48 in your video.) Also, you didn't mentioned how to do the closing chain in the front of the vest to hold it together. Hey Gail, I'm glad you like the stitch. Sorry for the bad angle. I have been studying other videos recently. I'm looking for ways to improve my tutorial "structure" for easier following. Thank u for your suggestion. If you have any others please let me know. I want to make my patterns the EASIEST to follow on UA-cam😉

    I am just starting the arm holes and I understand the first row, but what happens when you start the second row? Do you count that last hole or do you do at the other end you sc three, and you don’t count it in? This is my first time crocheting an item.

    • @LittlejohnsYarn

      I'm sorry I don't know the pattern off by heart. But it is created using multiples of 4. Each chain 4 will add an inch to the vest. Wrap the starting chain around the widest part of you to get a good estimate of size.

    Hi I was wondering how could I do this same pattern but with sleeves. What would I do for the sleeves

    • @LittlejohnsYarn
      @LittlejohnsYarn  5 років тому +1

      You can create a smaller arm opening then just crochet around the arm opening to create the sleeves

    Ok... So I'm a little confused as far as far as my chain foundation count... If you're doing 122 chains for a size 12... What would be the count on the foundation chain for a size 16?? And if I want a larger size... Does that mean it would change the whole tutorial on how to do it.... ?? Augh .. I really want to do this ... I have the perfect yarn... Weight... Size... Feel... It's just perfect for this sweater... I just can't get the count right...
