My name is Wesley Aring and I am a 20 year old woodworker. I have been woodworking for just over 3 years now.
I enjoy sharing what I’m up to in the shop. I especially enjoy making furniture and learning about different joinery. I do lots of shop projects too!
Have a project you would like to see me make?? Let me know in the comments below!!

Wesley bud, this is HUGELY impressed. Some of the best damn woodworking I’ve seen in a while. Really proud of you man, the project turned out absolutely beautiful!
Your parents must be proud, you are reaching the level of craftmen. What a quality piece of furniture
WOW! That was amazing. It’s so inspiring to have watched your progression over the last few years. It really shows how dedicated and committed you are to your craft. Great job man!
Thank you Rod!
Beautiful piece of furniture and beautiful video. Well done, Wesley.
it's cool to see a lot of classic woodworking technics in one project
I stumbled upon this while preparing for a dresser build. Very clean very deliberate work. I love seeing other young woodworkers in the space. Subbed!
Was looking for inspiration for a dresser and stumbled upon your video. A couple minutes in and I was sayin “please be a Californian, because I could totally be friends with this guy.” I came into this hobby swinging and haven’t stopped yet! This build was a knockout! Your shop is looking amazing, and your video skills are legit too! Great work!!
Thanks for checking out the videos! Glad you are enjoying them… And yes, I’m a Californian lol. This dresser was one of my favorite builds!
Love this build and the video is so entertaining. Thank you Wesley Aring. 👍
Lovely dog~~ I love the simple and nice design, and the color of mahogany which gives classic mood.
Wow. Well done you must be so pleased with you work
Thanks for sharing that, well done!
Wooo now I understand why wood furniture is expensive… you’re rock star… wonderful job!!
Gracias por volver!
What an amazing job. Wow beautiful.
Beautiful job! Good seeing you again
So glad to have you back! Was worried you’d burned out but you came back blazing! 🔥
This is like seeing myself in the future. You are doing exactly what I'm working towards. I think you may be younger than me though haha. But still. I'm obsessed with the craft and ive been pushing so hard to learn and grow within it. I recently got a camera and a bigger space and I'm gonna jump in to the UA-cam world. Youre so good man! An inspiration to me. BEAUTIFUL work.
I just started woodworking & watching your videos is a huge motivation for me to try new techniques & keep at it. My favorite part was watching you assemble the drawers. Those joints are goals! The dresser turned out beautiful
Excellent build Wesley, keep it moving.
Thanks Bruce!
It’s a nice piece of woodwork. Love of the art! Keep up the videos. I really enjoyed watching it.
This is such an incredible build, loved every second of it (sweet editing too!)
Its a very nice kitchen cabinet!
Glad to see you’re back!
Outstanding build 💪. Dude, you really did a great job and the video was enjoyable to watch. Nice work!!!
Long time no see Wesley. Welcome back. This desk is really professionally made. Very nice work. Hope we will see much more of your woodworking.

Another beautiful piece, you got the money skills!
Exquisite! Kudos to you!

Nice job buddy
Wow. Absolutely stunning craftsmanship, Wesley. You are definitely going places! I am 10 years your senior and have been woodworking a lot longer and have nowhere near your skill. I hope one day I can get to your level! Great video, man. Looking forward to many more. - Joe
Thank you for the kind comment Joe
A really good job, and nice music!
badass!

Welcome back!
Great job young man.
Wow,,, Awesome
missed you dude, good job
Absolutely Amazing! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you!!
I love videos with more action and less words🎉🎉🎉🎉congrats
Do you have a video on your router jig????😮
Nice job, man. I think you need to make yourself a router table. Maybe as an extension to your table saw? Again, good stuff!
It’s on my list of shop projects!
Awesome build i’m building a chest for my daughter right now gave me some ideas
I’m glad you found it inspiring!
Absolutely beautiful work and end result.
Why not buy the Leigh dovetail jig to add to your arsenal of tools. Four days worth of dovetails could be better spent on another project.
I’ll think further about that. Would really speed things up
Nice. I would have liked several more videos with detail.
Very impressive. The esthetics are teally
Wesley that was a great project showing your skills as a furniture maker. Well done. As it happens I want to build a router table soon. Any chance you could put it on the priority list? If you could talk us through your design first that would be useful. Regards Col.
It is an upcoming shop project 👍
Very good jig mortise router , hug from brazil
Nice vid. Beautiful piece as well. Can I offer one minor piece of advice? When pushing wide boards through the tablesaw you should be pushing in the center or if anything slightly closer to the blade side of the width, not on the fence side. It can cause kickbacks to push on the fence side. I see you have a riving knife on your saw, which should prevent this issue anyhow, but it's still not a good habit. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just some friendly advice.
Edit: I should have waited to comment until I finished the video. That isn't just a beautiful piece, it's an heirloom quality, hand crafted work of art... There, I feel better.
Man tht is very nice wes
Awesome wood work. Where does your music come from? I like it
Wow, man. As someone who someday aspires to be able to come close to this (not even a novice/beginner) this piece is truly amazing. Job well done, brilliant. How did you get started?
Kudos, Wesley. That is some nice kinda shop you have there, should last you into your dotage.
Tell us, how did your Japanese saw hold up after all those joints in that maple. Any missing/bent teeth?
Very Nice!! You may have answered a question like this but what did you use as a finish? Urethane or something else? Looks great!!
Could you elaborate on the finishing process that you used?
Impressive! I would hate to see how many hours you put into the build but the end result I am sure makes it worth it. Curious as to what or how you got your parents to give up the full garage for you? Did you bribe them with college grades ? Only kidding... I bet they are proud and impressed with the dedication you have given to your woodworking. If you are putting this kind of effort into your college classes then I am sure you will be top of your class. Stay safe, stay jolly!
That is a beautiful! How long to it take from start to finish?
Thanks,
Gary
Just under two months
@@WesleyAring Thanks for replying.
Beautify job! What is the finish?
How do you know how much of the bevel to shave off with the planer after cutting the bevel with the table saw?
Most old furniture never used slides. Curious why you used slides
The build is awesome and done to professional standards but here is the criticism. Didn't care much for the music but opinions are like a**holes everybody's got one. I still subbed. I see more awesome builds in your future. Btw beautiful dog. Is it a king charles spaniel?
Hey thanks for the feedback. And yes he’s a King Charles spaniel :)
@@WesleyAring loyal breed I miss mine.
Fantastic work, my friend...but please take the time to build a jig for cutting those tapers in the ends of the legs. Holding that piece vertically as you push it through the blade is just too dangerous.
I hear where your coming from. I’m experienced with the saw, and it felt safe to me. I wouldn’t recommend, but it does work.
Dang your faster than norm abram. Lol
One minute into this vid. I’d rather have the sound of the machinery than the music. I doubt I’ll make it through this video with the music.
Where do you get your wood?
I have a local hardwood dealer
I am in Sac and have only been to Miller's in Dixon. There was a great hardware store with good wood in Davis, but it closed.
I go to Aura Hardwoods or Hughes Hardwoods in Rancho. Both are good
Very nice enjoyed the video, but please trashcan the nauseating music, and yes I used the mute but there's times you miss some of what he has to say.
The music makes it unwatchable.
