- I think every woodworker wants to develop their own unique style of furniture. Some guys are true artists and come up with beautiful and original designs.
I'm not that unique, and I like the classic lines of shaker-inspired furniture. So I've simply formalized my own take on it, with a few years of design input from my customers.

The Milton Collection of Modern-Shaker furniture features:
1. Hardwood Construction - We use Oak, Walnut, Pecan, Cherry, or Mesquite. We selectively use 3/4" or 1/2" premium plywood where needed. We NEVER use particle board, mdf, or 1/4" material.
2. Amazing Drawers - Our Drawers are built from solid wood with exposed domino tenon jointery for strength and beauty. The bottoms of our drawers are 1/2" thick for superior strength. Finally, we use undermount, full extension, and soft-close drawer slides for a clean look and smooth function.
3. Premium Finishes - We use only use durable professional grade finishes. Oak can be stained a variety of colors, and woods like Walnut, Pecan, and Mesquite shine with our durable clearcoat process.
4. Built to Last. We use a combination of domino-tenon jointery and pocket hole jointery to build furniture you'll love and your grandchildren will fight over.

I took up inspiration from your dresser build and I am in the process of building one in the same style. With a few alterations, integrated power, drawer lighting, and I changed the side panels to have a third style down the center. When I saw your video on this I loved the simplicity. A lot of the older dressers are way to ornate. My best girl loves the way it looks and wants a complete bedroom set built to match haha. Thank you for sharing your work!
That is some very classy looking furniture, I love the color combination
Nice Dresser, great job
Very cool video and great build
This is a Beautiful piece!! Very Nice Craftsmanship!!
Thank you! I'm very proud of it
Beautiful piece. Nice job!
Thank you very much!
Nice job!
Top notch build 👍
Great commentary! I like your practical advice
Good job, looks great
Wonderful
Great job, but you didn't mention any top coat for the black stained portion nor the drawer fronts. is it urathane ?
Well done, and wow someone that doesn’t use a gallon of glue pouring all over the place when building!
Can we buy the finished product or do you only sell plans?
@@Manyk. I’m a full time custom furniture maker. I can build this for you exactly ask shown or customize it to exactly what you want/need. I ship anywhere in the continental US.

Simple but elegant! ( not meant easy to do it, it takes skills to do that)
Thank you very much!
In vid you say you're using 1/2 ply, but the materials list says 3/4. Error?
That was a design change I made after building the project. I figured moving to 3/4 would make the project simpler to build as doing a 5piece side panel is really unnecessary
What's the minimum table saw you would recommend for a project like this. I have a dewalt contractor table saw and I'm wondering if it will be good enough...
Yes a contractor saw can do this project
Ok, I'm confused. Why the dominos ar 5.07 instead of just a tenon on the end ?
Primarily because I didn’t have the tongue and groove bit and this was faster than dialing in either a table saw set up or a router set up.
Where did you get the base for your assembly table?
The adjustable height one? It’s a felder FAT 300. It’s pricey but a back saver that makes working solo a lot easier. Here is the video ua-cam.com/video/A2DRfvU9aBs/v-deo.html
Everything else is shop built
@@DaileyWoodworks I appreciate th reply!! I found this video shortly after asking the question. Thanks

Looks like 1990s Walmart. But whatever it is, it is not Shaker.
You gotta stop running your fingers by the router bit! Matter of time man. I like the videos, but good lord, be safe.
I was going to make the same remark. One hitch up and no more fingers
Efficient
There is nothing about this piece that is remotely "Shaker", whether traditional or modern.
Not the design, materials or workmanship. Ersatz Japanese maybe.
