For the drawers I cut a rabbit on the fronts and backs and a dado on the sides. The dado is quarter inch inset if using half inch stock. Then the rabbit will fit the dado.
I like mistakes at the begining of a project, rather than the end, especially because my projects usually have 3-4 iterations before I stop making mistakes...
I'm a beginning woodworker, and I've done this a few times, the upside is that you didn't pop a brad nail into your finger. Don't ask... lol A simple solution would be to glue a thin strip of veneer on both sides to give a nice accent or contrast if you want to keep the chest in natural wood. Otherwise a bit of paint will cover the mistakes with the wood filler. Looking good though.
Very nice. I think I would have opted for 2 knobs per drawer instead of one center one but that's just my preference. Well done and enjoyable video. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the detailed video brutha. I’m looking to build own, 1st dresser. Many how to videos don’t explain much. You did a great job w/ details. 🤜 🤛
Love the fact that you have not hidden your mistakes. You ended up with a good set of drawers. A project that I am in need of doing, so you have given me some ideas and tips. Thanks very much :)
I watched your video and turned on the CC because I could not understand what type of nails that you were using. You say that you are using breath nails. What are breath nails?
Great build Alex! Curious where you buy your prefinished plywood for the drawer bottoms? I’ve made that same mistake with the length of Brad nails. Frustrating!
@@arayawoodworks great thank you!! Subscribed to your channel and downloaded your pricing worksheet and the pst file that goes with the dresser! Have a great day! Happy new year!
Great Design.. But why On earth is everything after the 1980's So shallow in the drawer.. Add a couple inch's so people can get more then 2 pairs of jeans in.
I watched several videos from “established” UA-camrs, yours is clear, tutorial, and honest (I thought I was the only one who made mistakes).
Thank you for watching!
Very basic joinery should be easy for any beginner! Love the alder trim you added. Great accent!

To fix the side frame one option would be cut a 1/4” plywood panel to fit inside of the frames then trim it out with cove moulding
Yes! Great suggestion. I like the addition of trim!
Great job 👍🏿
Thank you!!

Looked awesome. You could have glued quarter inch of ply over it.

No. Esta bien nivelado

Where did you get your apron?
I got it from John Katz-Moses. It’s a great apron
you're not related to tom araya, are you?
You can just add 1/4" plywood panel to hide the nails
Great idea!
pura vida mae
PURA VIDA!

Haha actually the drawers fit lots of clothes! But you can certainly make them bigger
I would counter sink the nails back and if the aren't sunk on the inside who cars...mistakes are made. It happens.
Indeed! They happened but never enjoy them 😂
You can use 1/4 " luan to cover the pops.
Great idea!
