    I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well.With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings.For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance.For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.

    Bought the Raptor version for a bolt action build. Honestly most of us are never gonna shoot past 300 yards, let alone 500. This magnification range is perfect for most people. 2.5 is fine for close work and 10x is adequate out to a 1000. Sure, a higher magnification range is good for punching paper, but for maximum versatility and functionality I love this magnification range. I went into their store and tried out the reticle before buying one. The reticle at 2.5 VERY visible, that reticle takes up whole scope at 10x.

    I had one from the first production run. Got it on sale for $450 after they sued by Leupold for some of the turret design features and some cosmetic issues. I loved the steel on steel construction, glass quality and tracking. I had an Athlon Ares BTR 2.5-15 FFP and had to decide which to keep. The Ares was a touch clearer, but it had noticeable chromatic aberration with darker colors. It was noticebly heavier, too. I kept the GLx.
    I did end up selling it. I had to help fund the purchase of a Benelli M4 barrel. It was on the shelf. I had replaced it with a Vortex Razor 1-10. I do miss it though.

My opinion is that while I very much like first focal plane on precision scopes that I primarily dial, I prefer sfp and simple reticles on a fighting gun. I realize that this is a late comment, but I got the GLX 2.5-10x for my "field" rifle. I actually sold my 1-6x Razor. I guess I got tired of the compromises. Anyway, that little issue that you mentioned with the hash marks lining up was driving me crazy. Yeah, a touch of OCD. Instead of trying to force the cap, try this. When you set the zero stop, take note on the red collar that engages the click button on the cap. It is anchored at a single point and allows for a little play. What I did was, when tightening the (red) zero stop collar, put a bit of counter clockwise pressure on it as you hold it up. Then start tightening at the set screw opposite the anchor point. This lined up the hash marks for me. Enjoyed your review. Your and Hop's comments lead me to try it out and went with it instead of the PST. I also had a bit of trouble with the Chevron. I just zeroed using the 2 mil hash mark and dial up 2 mils when I want to use the Chevron. I'm gonna use it like that for a while and see how it works out.

    I have the SLX 1-8 FFP Raptor with the ACSS and it's pretty cool, functionality is great as well. I'll admit you obviously aren't going to get the same glass quality you will as opposed to shelling out thousands for an optic. That being said it's great for both unknown and even marked distances. At the 500 yarder I go to It was very easy to transition between the targets without having to dial at all. The reticle does all of the work, and it's brightness was pretty damn good I'll add. Not to mention it comes with 2 Night Vision settings, and my PVS-14 can pickup one of them rather well without washout being an issue.

  • @cl9260
    @cl9260 2 роки тому +4

    The sum up of the scope and the sorry state of the market leaves this item with a "didn't hit it out of the park but no one else tried" vibe as a primary thought.
    The second part of the scope is the catering to price point and the performance leaves the value for dollar higher than scopes double the money. This is both because of the sorry state of the oversaturated LPVO market and the distinct forcing of a DMR rifle to move away from this precise power range.
    I researched for about 5 weeks watching reviews on lpvos and nearly fell down the Vortex rabbit hole and have the new primary arms PLX LPVO on order (I owned the old one and they let me warranty exchange for the new one after illumination failure) and I can say I've had bad overall experience with their illumination but their reticle design feels the most thought out. I kept waffling with trying to wait out the pre-order versus the fact it's a sin to consider running a 308 with no parallax adjustment. The LPVO has an intended home on a 5.56mm but will be my "nicest" scope and the 308 is my "nicest" rifle. So I juggled this for weeks and you basically summed up over a month of research into 20 minutes of video.
    Takeaways is scope is worth it, compromises are reasonable compared to purpose and reticle holds and turret tracking are well on point for price and able to withstand abuse.
    Literally gonna dig through your channel and see what else you know and what other big ass L you can save me from. Cuz if I had settled on an LPVO I'd kick myself.

    Great video and thanks for the honest review. I wanted to ask with the expanding introduction of LPVO with 1-10 FFP capabilities for a general scope used with 5.56 or 308 for run and gun and shooting out to 1000 yards would those be a better option than the 2 or 2.5 to 10? Their tubes are more narrow, so, maybe they are more limiting in terms of image brightness and maybe that is sufficient to justify the move up to the 2.5 to 10.
