Just wanna pause for a second and say that you are doing absolutely amazing job explaining this game to boob like me. Thank you for that. I am almost 40yr old guy who picked up this game from a steam sale and now I'm hooked 😂

Hey everyone, i just found out that the two air wings are not going to Spain because there not assigned as volunteers. So you have to sign them in first and get permission from Spain.
Thanks for this amazing walkthrough, loving the game...

His war went on so long because it doesn't look like he successfully sent the support aircraft that he meant to attatch to the general

Can I add one tip for everyone? Don't keep your fuel at ">5years" when you see that you have a wasted surplus that could be used for training.

Just a question, do we have to watch every episode? I love your work, you explain it so eaisily to me, but some episodes are an hour and a half long. Just wondering.

Hello! Is there something to be said about using the Japan/China comflict to raise some of our own units skill level like we are in Spain?

I've never tried, but I don't see why not, with Japan.

    I have three questions:
    1. Is going for land war increases Army experience? As of the info when hovering the green star, it seems that war doesn't contribute to it. So being involved in war early on is 'just for' Generals/Marshals field xp right?
    2. In military production chains, what does the production cost represents exactly (the little yellow wrench in a green disc)? Let's say it is 24 for a Bf 109 and 22 for a He 51, so that would be 24 (or 22) what? I understand the differential being only that it will be slightly quicker to construct an He 51 than a Bf 109, do I miss something?
    3. Regarding CAS and bombers wings attached to Rommel in Spain, they do appear attached to Rommel (pressing F3 when in Spanish theater, they appear over Rommel portrait), but they are not contributing at all to the civil war as they stay grounded in their German home base. My guess is that they can't contribute to the fight as the closest Spanish airport is to too far from their German one. Am I right?

      Good questions..
1 - The war in and of itself does not increase military XP. It is the actual fighting that the divisions do, that builds the experience, and the leaders of those division(s) or the General(s) and any associated Field Marshal, which those divisions fall under by extension also gain experience. The more divisions you have fighting (active, front line) the quicker this builds up (same goes for air and navy).
2 - Great idea for a topic I can cover in the next episode I record (no 13). Production of most things in HOI use both resources, as well as IC or Industrial Capacity. IC is a way to measure TIME IT TAKES x HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE WORKING. A quick example: "It takes 100 hours to build this widget, so IC = 100.... However if we have 5 people working that widget, it will take 20 hours to complete. (5 x 20 = 100)... I will also look at the couple other bits on that page - I think if you're ready, others will be too.
3 - Man I hate you for bringing this issue up! Short answer: I don't know. Long answer is - playing the SAME way, with the various DLC enabled, the aircraft assisting Rommel (or controlled by player manually) absolutely assist in the civil war, and absolutely can and do make use of the local airfields. Why they do not assist here, I'm not sure if it's a bug (many bugs exist in HOI4, due to the insane amount of combinations of DLC available) - or if its a deliberate desicion by paradox to not allow air to assist in the spanish civil war, unless the player has the DLC (no idea why DLC would change it up).... To me this whole issue is kinda iffy, so I've decieded not to expand on it further in my tutorial series, as it would over-complicate things... Now could I have long-range bombers assisting Rommel with CAS - Yes, operating out of Southern Germany. The problem here is taking losses would be very expensive, as we couldn't supply air cover. Could we set the aggression to be LOW, and only operate at NIGHT??? Great idea for episode 13 - stay tuned!
Thanks so much for these questions, they will help me shape the upcoming tutorials

My experience as I also own most of the DLC'S is this is the best way to learn the games mechanics without the DLC.
It will be much easier to understand what you are attempting to do if you already know and have a decent grasp of the base game first.
I spent quite a few hours trying to learn with the DLC's on and am finding it is much easier learning taking the little bites with just the base game first.

I'm happy that our war instructor in here might very well tackle this task of introducing DLCs in a near future. Meanwhile I'm more than happy to have him taking care fluently of the basics in the already complex world of the vanilla game, no other channel was able to deliver me that til now, Big Brain.

I will be looking to do a review on my favourite DLCs, and possibly devote a full episode towards each separate DLC as a tutorial in the future.
In order to not waste time, it's really important we get all the basics down - and also for me, because playing with DLC all the time, it's easy to forget what parts of the game are VANILLA vs. DLC
The problem with combining multiple DLC (unless we just turn them ALL on) is there are literally hundreds of combinations possible, and everyone's game would look and behave differently depending on their preferences.
Because I'm not affiliated with Paradox, it doesn't make any difference to me if people don't buy any, only pick 1-2, or get the lot - and because of this, I think it's more than "fair" to make an honest unbiased review of them at some point.
