I am 45 years of age and I started fishing at the age of 5 ,I started fly fiahing age 12. I get just as excited now as I did when I was a child. I was lucky enough to catch my first Salmon at my first attempt on the River Moy in Mayo . This year I aim to catch my first spring Salmon. Great video thanks.
Hi Dave, my father David & my mother Sally produced these films. I would be appreciative if you could credit David & Sally Shaw-Smith as the filmmakers. Thank-you. Yours, Daniel Shaw-Smith.
I used an old account (note the different name) to upload these files and I'm not sure how to go back in and add credits. I would love to be able to do that as they produced a phenomenal series of fishing films. A credit to them
boy i rember watching this as a kid it was a great salmon video for the time used say how lucky there are to get on there fishing wonder what the spring like now on that river i doubt it will be as good but thanks for the up load got be 25 years go anyway sure jack charlton in it rember them get springers on the yellow belly still good to this day
Swelly Dave, thank you for uploading these old salmon videos I really enjoyed them. I live within 10 miles of the river Slaney and it was great to see old footage of salmon been caught. No where along the Slaney allows spin fishing now which is unfair to non fly fishers or beginers, I fly fish but its nice to run a spinner through a pool if you had no luck with the fly. I fish the river Nore and this is how I fish the pools down and more often than not if your not lucky with the fly alot of the time, the salmon hammer the spinner, and some people have a view that true salmon fishing is fly only which I find to be not true because spin fishing is as old as the hills when chasing salmon, which these videos show and prove thanks very much for sharing and if you have any more old videos please upload them because it is very hard to find them thanks again Keith in Carlow
+keith lawlor Thanks - appreciate the comments. Found the videos lying in the attic & thought theyre too good to waste - I was never able to find them for sale so thought.....lets let everyone see them.
+Castlebeat1 My pleasure. Loved them when I saw them on TV & was glad I had the video recorder running & then found the video in the attic last year. Too good to waste. Never saw them for sale anywhere strangely.
