Great doco. beautifully shot and gives the diverse opinions which illustrate the complexity of the issue. wouldn't it be great to open up the Boyne again for passenger boats as it was in the 1920's? The one off investment in infrastructure to make the locks operable would be repaid many times over time. Historic Drogheda, Battle of the Boyne site, Newgrange, Slane Hill, Navan. Surely one of the great short boat trips in the world and Ireland's history in a nutshell. Enda Murray
well done too leo boyle he is an insperation sort of susan boyle in the fishing world ,,lets all take a step back and look at ourselves ,he mentions natural resource words of wisdom ,,a natural gold there for our future ,,finger on the pulse ,,,food in our belly no cost to anybody he is the salmon of knowledge !!!!!!!!! is mise jon leonard part time plumber !!!! lol
my grandad fished it for year and years tommy tuite a legand on the river said it years and years ago about salmon stocks ...if people had of paid heed it would be ok now...tourists would of been flocking in...well i still fish the boyne...part of the family...
your missing the point earl. they were trusted to report there catch for estimation of fish numbers in the river.didnt so it was shut.. the damage is been done at sea and not just to salmon so its must that no salmon be killed in the boyne .. oh and what you doing sticking up for the same people who want to ban you for life of the river ??
Brilliant work Bobby & crew.
Great work Bobby and team. Would have liked to hear more about what happened out at sea but I loved the ending. Leo Boyle's view was the highlight!
