Honestly people get so hung up on a perfect debut that many end up never going live, like you have to have everything perfect with the perfect audience and you only get one shot at this.... A debut is fine, but it's literally just the first few hours of your whole entire career and unless your lucky and get thousands of viewers on your first day, most people generally don't have that many viewers and that's completely fine. People also assume there's a certain procedure to content creation, the whole purpose of content creation is being creative and original. Like you can debut every month if you want to or choose to never debut. The important thing to note is forget corporate procedures, this is your channel, you can do whatever you want, and while obvious it's also very important. Your not here to be yet another vtuber doing the same things as every other vtuber, you're here to be creative and original, this means it's trial and error and you're not really ever going to know if something will workout or not. Just jump in, let yourself start off bad, focus on improving yourself on every video and/or stream, gradually you'll get better and follow the other tips in this video. But a debut was meant for a company to throw you to thousands of people or more, most peoples first video or stream will not have that, most people won't ever see your debut, your debut is only to gain initial traction from a large group of people, but the rest of your vtubing career will be gaining new followers who will never see your debut. Unless your debuting to thousands of people, your debut is probably the very least important thing in your vtubing career because it's just one stream or video, just one, out of your whole entire career. You have your whole entire life to get better, perfect yourself and your stream, and build an audience and you can have as many debuts as you want. Lots of vtubers who get big often have more than one.
I’m about to launch a VTuber channel with my friend (to teach Carnatic music mainly but also to stream games etc). This has been very helpful. Thank you! So happy to see a male VTuber making super helpful content. You guys don’t get enough love from the community!
One thing I suggest to do is grab a group of friends on discord, and stream a game via screenshare with them and talk just that way. A great way to practice and to get into the mindset. You'll have a small audience, and it's easy to test things out and ask your friends how you did, what you can improve on, and if there were any technical issues.
@@mintosnake4290 I ended up streaming on reality for a while since it was more convenient and have now stopped due to some personal reasons haha, this is my channel right here though, it currently has nothing but I'll fill em up when I'm able to with other things :D

@@VtuberSenpai You know what? I think I will. I need all the help I can get and it would also be a really good way to get advice on how to run my own server, being that I want to start one early.
Great word of advice when it comes to posting on Reddit. When posting content of any shape or form, say you made a video on a specific game and want to share your video with that community. Have the mentality of being a Redditor with a UA-cam/Twitch account. Not A UA-camr/Streamer with a Reddit account. Reddit is a very cut throat environment when it comes to self-promotion. My first few post where just throw a video up and hope for views. Most leading to massive back lash. Once I heard about this advice I took posting very differently. I interacted with the subreddits pages, commented on other posts, did researched and asked the community what elements would be good to have in videos. AND, when posting videos sperficitly. DONT LINK THE VIDEO! Actually upload the video as the reddit post (most people won't bother clicking the embedded video) and then post the first comment going over the video, how long it took, why did you make it or something along those lines. And then link the video and maybe ask like "If you would like to share the love for my creation, share it with your friends and come by my stream". This has been very helpful with the content and I rearly get back lash from posting my videos on subs now. As it doesn't look like self promotion. Plus! I feel more proud of my content as I'm not just throwing it all over the place with little to no care. Give it a try! It might take a few times to get the formula right, but once you crack it.....whoooooweee! It really helps you grow! (Quick example, once I got this down I gained like 500+ subs overnight with a video I made for Age of Empires 2, made front page on the sub for pretty much all my AOE2 videos)
Hey man some great tips here. Ever since my friend became a vtuber last year it’s been on my mind, hanging out in her streams has really encouraged me to give it a shot, my only problem is I am a very procedural, analytical person who overthinks things lmao, and it causes me unnecessary stress. If I had to sum up what draws me to the idea of vtubing (aside from wanting to be a cool anime husbando), it’s the fact that I absolutely love the idea of streaming games to people, I already do that with my friends all the time, I love commentating on what I’m doing and I’m someone who has loved watching let’s plays and people reacting to games and stuff for almost my whole life, I also love the idea of just vibing and having a good time chatting with my (hopefully) future viewers and community. The cherry on top is that everyone says I have a great voice and that it’d work wonders for streaming lmao. Right now, I have a rough concept in my head of what I want to be, and the one thing that I guess I’m hung up on is evergreen content as you mentioned, I’ve never done anything like video/image editing so I find the idea a little daunting, I was also thinking of making a Twitter and engaging with people there to build up towards an eventual debut. When it comes to the model I’m considering taking another person’s advice and starting out with pngtubing considering the low cost, and only investing in a pretty model once things kick off into a steady trot. I realize this is quite the ramble, but honestly it’s because this idea excites me but also makes me nervous, so I’m doing what I can to gather my thoughts, set a plan, and execute it. If you have thoughts on any of this I’d love to hear them. :D
I've been looking at trying it out. I'm... Still really new to, well, all of this. I fell down the rabbit hole, and now I want to try it myself. I get the being an introvert thing... I fake social pretty well, but the thought of putting myself out there live streaming.... Terrifies me. I'm not an artist, but I've bodged together an avatar of my own (sooooo not an artist) and I'm trying to get things ready to go live for the first time. Your videos have been such a help! Very nice video! 1 tip I'd like to add to is if you dont want to make another YT account you can also stream privately on YT to make sure your video looks and sounds good. I plan on making my debut within the next month and that reddit tip is a really good idea I've been trying to think of how to interact and be more of a part of the vtuber community and it sounds like a good place to go be more active in it.

So honestly it's not too late... For example bunny ayumi (fairly big twitch streamer) just did a debut stream for her avatar last week (even tho she's been using since October) so it's never too late to do it... You can do it like a birthday celebration or something like that

I'm torn because I got Twitch affiliate in about 7 Streams in one month, so I feel like I'm good, like I have the right kind of growth. However I'd like to have a nice big debut. I set myself a goal of 100 twitch followers on Twitch to debut and I know I shouldn't worry about the debut that much cause it's generally a flash in the pan, people just curious about your model, but I can't help feel that pressure either like I'll fail without a good one. Eh, I just gotta get out of my head

Streams take time to grow. Be patient they will come... Technical issues happens! Not ones first stream is the best... Just fix as much as you can :) you got this!
This is good, I've noticed a lot of these and have been practicing before hand and learning what I need and dont need. Like a stream deck was pretty crucial for my rigging and it helps a ton! one struggle I have is schedule. I'm a new mom and artist full time. My schedule is pretty dependent on the little one. so i've been wondering if its worth being up front about being a bit irregular or if I should push myself tho it causes a lot of stress from pressure. : (
So that's a fantastic question... So I would stream when ever you can (don't pressure or force yourself to stream you will burn out or just hate streaming).. I would put that in your bio on twitch or youtube that you'll be all over time wise but most people are understanding... Like for myself, I get my little one every second weekend so some Fridays I cut my streams short on those days so I spend time with the little one... But another thing you can/should consider is maybe focusing more on evergreen searchable videos on UA-cam... With youtube videos you can do them on your own time without any pressure... And when you build up a big enough following you can get a good percentage to go see your streams on twitch when you have more free time to do so... If you want anymore info or tips feel free to join my discord or stream... Links are in the description :)
@@VtuberSenpai thank you 💖 I do plan on little one being part of my “character” so sometimes I’ll need to take a break to go make her food or have her sit on my lap during stream and babble a little. So far that’s gone very good with my audience so hopefully the “irregularities” in my schedule can be part of my quirky character :,) joined the discord as well! I’d love to get more ideas on evergreen videos. I have quite a few streams up on my main UA-cam now but I would like to do some videos with my model.
Yes absolutely you could incorporate her into your vids... Hell you could just have a small avatar that does random things sitting on your avatars lap... So when your daughter randomly talks it looks like the baby avatar is too... I know that would be super unique as I know for a fact no one has ever done that
I'm trying to figure out if I should start a channel first and debut after I've got a decent following or just go ahead and debut when I start recording
Do you have any tips on how to get involved with online communities? In person I'm quite shy but once I start talking to people I tend to make a connection pretty quickly. However, when online I have a very difficult time showing my good points or making that connection. Also, thank you for the video Senpai!
Well honestly just like me it just takes practice... What I would suggest is join a discord.. you dont have to say anything but do the 1st part of joining.. then try replying to some messages here or there... then or even before show up to a stream of a streamer... talk in chat or lurk.. get a feel for the streamer or community... Then maybe start out slow with a hi or replying to a convo :) you are more than welcome to join my discord and stream.. Ill help where I can :)
@@VtuberSenpai Thank you very much, I would really appreciate that, Senpai! Do you have your discord chat posted somewhere? I don't recall hearing it in this video.
I didn't even know debuting was a thing until a couple days ago. I spent so much time just getting OBS, my model, a few other things that I just wanted to start streaming. I figured I could iron everything out later. Could I still technically debut or anything else I could do that is kind of the same?....
Umm i didn't see this in your channel do you take commission by any chance? I'm looking yo make my VTube debut as well as my music debut on my different channel and would love to have some animations for them!
@@MrMajesticMajesty As of right now I don't do commission , I did my rig althou it's abit broken but I may start "debut" and start stream soon . Althou I am thinking of animating on stream too . Working on some layouts , bgm and stuff for the streams .
Might as well make one! Honestly doesnt hurt anything and you could use clips from your stream to make it more appealing! There are so many big streamers who do it and I feel many people would like it... also think of it this way... How many people actually make a good one? You have a chance to really stand out!
help!!!! My friend Alliora Moon is struggling on her channel!!! She is very shy and her vtubing model she made is not working anymore and she wants to be a 2D vtuber... but her issue is that she is having to wait to buy a laptop from walmart because her current laptopis not a windows compatable computer. And whileshe has a new design for her model..she has no clue how to rig it. What i am trying to say is... can you do a video on how to rig a 2D character?
Heya! I'm not very knowledgeable with rigging but syafire is brilliant at it! This is her video covering that topic! ua-cam.com/video/kU7csuuEozA/v-deo.html
Does the reddit thing really work? i see a lot of people on their talking about vtubing or trying to promote but they get maybe like 2 comments and one upvote tops. Idk if the reddit environment is different but Ive noticed at least with starting out on Twitter, no one really tries to help or interact with anyone, cuz theyre too busy trying to get themselves to stand out, or maybe even see everyone else as competition lmao idk maybe im just starting off with a bad experience so far, but its not gonna stop me from working on my vtuber and debuting
For me I can say it worked... But if you do reddit... Stand out .. make your post stand out! Look at the people who get 2up votes compared to the ones with 50-100 up votes... But yes I'd highly suggest it
Question, I have lost the love for my username that I’m known for and it shows. I want to redebut with a whole new brand and everything. Should I just remove my current content and change the username to the new name account?
so that's a really good question and kinda hard to answer... So I actually rebranded myself 3 times until, well what you see right now... All I did for my UA-cam and Twitch was change the user name. If you make new accounts and such, it will make it hard for your current viewers and followers to find you or even get them onto the new pages. That being said VTubers redebut all the time with new avatars or even username changes. I wouldnt remove your current content as its something you can look back from and see the progress you made.. its also a fun thing that your audience can look back on and see your progression as well... BUT if you really want nothing to do with your old stuff then yes get rid of it all and do a full re-brand... and since you are doing it all again it will be faster to grow where you are now the second time around! You have made me really think on this one and I will continue to think about this... If you want, you can join my discord (link in description) and we can discuss this more!
Sure! The more testing you can do before a debut or even after a debut the better. Having a test model to make sure your software and hardware work as well as you want them to makes sense is a smart move!
When using the inspector.twitch, you mention it asks for credential. Do you mean your main Twitch account credential, correct? I just want to point that out in case if you weren't clear enough. I am definitely going to test with Streamlabs, but this guide video is very helpful.
Hey i watch almost all of your videos about vtuber and software those was amazing,, helped me a lot, well can u make a video about how did you made your model and set on vrm that you can use on any software,, not in details but if you can say the process little bit it will help a lot... Thank you😇
@@aaron329 thank you so much for help,, and what i wanted to know that actually i want to use 2D avatar for stream,, so first have to make it on vroid and then give expression on unity then i can launch it to any software? Like if i made 2D avatar i can use it to any vtube software?
I'm actually getting a 2d model made and going to make a video for which 2d software to use... 3tene works for 2d and some people say they got vseeface to work for it but it's mixed results... I will check to see what most use for 2d and give you a better answer
Hey that works too! Debuts aren't always needed 😁 btw drop your twitch link or youtube link in the comments for people to check you out! Also feel free to stop by my stream and I can shout you out when most of my viewers are there :)
Honestly if you can only do 1500 then def try doing at 1500... There are many games that will look decent at that bitrare.. But also limiting your resolution will make it look just as good

Honesly please do what you feel is right... if you want to do it now then do so... if not then dont... either way you got this!
Thank you for the vary helpful advice!
You are so welcome!
This is great tips! Hope when I go legit it turns out well. Will continue to watch your tips.
I'm glad you liked them! Please also feel free to join the discord or stream if you have any questions or want to hang out! Link in description of video!
I'm having a debut stream today so I watched this again! I'm unprepared though lol.
Hey you got this! Do your best and do it with a smile! I believe in you!
@@VtuberSenpai I only have one viewer lol, I can't let people miss my stream. And there are so much technical issues...
I know that would be super unique as I know for a fact no one has ever done that
i just realized this video came out on my birthday
i love it
Happy late birthday!
@@VtuberSenpai thank you lots!
Question.. how do find moderators BEFORE your debut stream?
Honestly friends are great mods to have at first... Once your established you could easily grab community members
I'm trying to figure out if I should start a channel first and debut after I've got a decent following or just go ahead and debut when I start recording
you should actually do the first one
Ooh what's this!? 😀👋
Yes in the description and pinned comment in the video :)
Thanks a so match I'm planning to become a youtuber
Nice! I hope you do become one :)
I didn't even know debuting was a thing until a couple days ago. I spent so much time just getting OBS, my model, a few other things that I just wanted to start streaming. I figured I could iron everything out later. Could I still technically debut or anything else I could do that is kind of the same?....
you can still debut down the road or whenever you want
Hihi , I am a animator ... But looking at the prospect of Vtubing and doing some research on how to . Looking forward to more content 🥰
Well this channel is definitely for you! I cover everything regarding how to vTube!
I like this video this tips help me
I'm glad they did!
I never had a debut video lol, vtubesenpai you think I should make one even tho I... well... already debut lol🥴
Might as well make one! Honestly doesnt hurt anything and you could use clips from your stream to make it more appealing! There are so many big streamers who do it and I feel many people would like it... also think of it this way... How many people actually make a good one? You have a chance to really stand out!
@@VtuberSenpai Is it okay to post the clips on YT?
@Miruku Midnight same i think ill close it soon.
@@LowkeyKyunie Yup! Some people even take the whole stream and edit it into a video. It all depends on what you wanna do
I’m out of comment ideas but expect a weird one next time hehehehehe
I believe in you lol
Liked, subbed, making a Reddit account, hoping to meet good people and have a fun future debut.
You'll do great
Im learning about it, must be bad to debut.and trying to do uwu voice
nah do the uwu voice!
If you want, you can join my discord (link in description) and we can discuss this more!
is it normal practise to have a "testing" model/chars?
Sure! The more testing you can do before a debut or even after a debut the better. Having a test model to make sure your software and hardware work as well as you want them to makes sense is a smart move!
@@VtuberSenpai thanks for the support and the fast reply :D
Anytime! Also feel free to join the discord... Lots of new vtubers in there bounced ideas and such off each other
When using the inspector.twitch, you mention it asks for credential. Do you mean your main Twitch account credential, correct? I just want to point that out in case if you weren't clear enough. I am definitely going to test with Streamlabs, but this guide video is very helpful.
That is correct! Its for your main twitch account :D
Do you need two monitor to stream?
No not at all!
Nervousness is a pain the damn ass, man
It is! But you got this! Nervousness will pass in time
Hey i watch almost all of your videos about vtuber and software those was amazing,, helped me a lot, well can u make a video about how did you made your model and set on vrm that you can use on any software,, not in details but if you can say the process little bit it will help a lot... Thank you😇
@@aaron329 thank you so much for help,, and what i wanted to know that actually i want to use 2D avatar for stream,, so first have to make it on vroid and then give expression on unity then i can launch it to any software? Like if i made 2D avatar i can use it to any vtube software?
I'm actually getting a 2d model made and going to make a video for which 2d software to use... 3tene works for 2d and some people say they got vseeface to work for it but it's mixed results... I will check to see what most use for 2d and give you a better answer
@@VtuberSenpai thank you so much😊 i will wait for your next video
I already debuted without a Debut lmao
Hey that works too! Debuts aren't always needed 😁 btw drop your twitch link or youtube link in the comments for people to check you out! Also feel free to stop by my stream and I can shout you out when most of my viewers are there :)
i really love hearing people be like "you might have to drop your bitrate to maybe 5 or 4 thousand' ...i cant stream above 1500....
Honestly if you can only do 1500 then def try doing at 1500... There are many games that will look decent at that bitrare.. But also limiting your resolution will make it look just as good
I think I made a mistake. Greetings.
What mistake do you feel you made?
@@VtuberSenpai I did not do any of the steps you suggested. You see, I lost my memory and I just remember Zero. I was in a state of panic and tried to upload a video as soon as I came to consciousness. With my limited time, I only managed to speak about my name. I just have started seeking for answers on social media hence I stumbled across your interesting channel. I believe it may not be too late.
Well everyones journey is different... There is no right or wrong way to do anything... All I provide is my opinion.. but you can honestly do any of these steps at any time
@@VtuberSenpai I shall do so, many thanks to you and your generosity!
My first step for my debut is buying a new pc haha...
LoL well try with the one you have now and try PNGtubing!
