I am enjoying War of Faith, though it's not my usual sort of drama. I'm impressed by Wang Yibo's acting in this, it's clear that he has a genuine talent for acting and he's getting better and better with every project he does. I'm glad he is getting meatier roles and transitioning into being a serious actor, I like idol dramas too but there's no denying they can be a bit superficial when it comes to acting nuance.
War of Faith is worth watching even if this isn't your usual type of show. You get so invested in the characters and the plot is exciting and there's a lot of feels.
Why is Cheng Yi being sued by an agency which he has no connection since 2015?! I just don't understand what's happening and it doesn't affect his image and work projects. He is such an excellent actor with a humble and simple personality. Thanks for the updates Marcus. Appreciation from Brazil!
That agency is just rotten. They went bankrupt a while ago. They sued all their former artists and even sued a cleaning worker. They lost all the previous lawsuits. They're just desperate. Now that Cheng yi is getting popular they're just trying to grab money from him. They alleged that they gave him his stage name Cheng yi so they have the right to take it back. It's kind of funny actually.
The problem is jujingyi fans are unwilling to accept her actress couldn’t act, she isn’t at the same level as zhao liying yang mi yangzi or liu yifei even bailu. Thanks to her popularity as former SHN48 idol who bring her till today. I like her as singer but not actress. No hate but facts.
People like to criticize JJY but their opinions are just that, "their opinion only." At her age in the industry, with the amount of money she has made, recently obtaining a top award as a singer and doing well as an actress, the only thing she needs to take seriously is herself and what she wants out of life.

War of Faith, a very interesting narrative of the corruption of the time, which gives way to a revolution, although personally I wish that people can prosper in peaceful processes and not in violent revolutions, but that is History. Wang Yibo's performance is surprising, much more expressive and different from his impassiveness in "Untamed", he is a promising young talent. Excellent Wang Yang!, Very good Zhang Tian Yang as the cruel inspector. I am glad that the director incorporated great actors like Yang Kun as the greedy housekeeper Aunt Zhou, Li Wei Long moved me as the good friend Wen, Gong Yin Guo the retired oldie banker (he is divine!)

I wish you would give War of Faith a little more credit for how outstanding it is doing, especially Wang Yibo. This is his comeback drama and it's killing it in the rating. Just a suggestion.

Despite seeing all negative comments on Ju Jing Yi on her performances in past dramas, but IN BLOSSOM seen to episode 24, she gave better performances.Her facial expressions great to express what she was experiencing. Her expression was super exaggerated and all over the place ,very uncomfortable to watch , and her make up the lip glow ,the long fake eyelashes , and the clear eyelid type on her eye was like she transmitted from a modern drama , but what to expect from actress that demand to use her own makeup artist in every drama
I don't think so she has improved even one bit. You should check her earlier dramas, she has similar expressions (totally over exaggerated ones), she always dresses to the nine even if the scene doesn't demand it. I could never complete any her dramas just because her acting is so bad. Yes she is pretty and I don't know about her singing but I guess she is good at that. Maybe she should stick to it...not all people are made for acting.
YY had surgery on his knee recently so hope he gets better soon. The whole CY thing is confusing; if his contract with that other agency expired in 2015 or 2017 and he's with a new agency, why are these ppl hounding him in 2024? That makes absolutely no sense. Hope that works itself out. I finished watching In Blossom (gave it an 8.5/10) yesterday after express was dropped; I have no qualms about JJY's acting. I've only seen her twice before and I think she's improved especially opposite LXY. Still watching Burning Flames (though I hope they drop express tomorrow) and ShenLi but may check out Blossoms in Adversity at some point later this week; you made the premise sound interesting. I am actually looking forward to this Xu Kai drama with Yang Zi after watching some of the previews. At the same time, I am a bit disappointed that Xu Kai's drama with Seven Tan isn't premiering first as it was filmed first. Hopefully we will see that one soon as well.

Marcus Hi again I made my first comments of today before watching your update till the end so I really must add the following. Your celebrity news section today was an object lesson in fair & informative broadcasting. You touched on the issue of "idols" being regarded by many the second class performers of the asian entertainment industry. Why is this? Is it because they entertain the ordinary persons who need glimpses of beauty, hope, adult fairytales to boost them through their less than happy or exciting days? A case in point is Ju Jingyi who has staying power if nothing else. I doubt if this young woman wants to go down in history as the greatest actress of all time so all the snug comments are really superfluous; the comments posted in her regard say more about the commenters & their vision of life than anything of substance about their target. Also I have come across so many quotes that hint that only "trained actors" are real actors. Here in the Mediterranean or in Europe no one is bothered about the "training" pedigree of the actor, or indeed by the absence of a history of same. How the actor prepares for his work activities is his own business. What we see & feel when watching the work of the actor is what counts, nothing else.
I find okay ju jingyi in this drama, she need to improve but people too harsh with her. She get body shaming, plastic surgery slanders, some people insult her very badly. Why should she listen to them who curse her and also change script for guest star. They don’t even respect script. They didn’t understand plot so blame everything to Ju Jingyi. She need to improve but not that way as other saying. She need to take project seriously that's it. She shouldn’t take project in which she can't give her best. War of Faith is nearing its finale and is surprisingly good despite its "propaganda" element. Yibo has been a great surprise and like a wuxia practitioner, he broke through many higher levels of acting powers in this drama! 🤣 Li Qin and Wang Yang have such strong chemistry in their sibling relationship. Only frustrating part is that the common, naive folk keep dying but the gang of bad guys esp Wei Ruo Lai's enemies, 😂Lin Qiao Shen & his sidekick survive car explosions, building explosions and what not!😂😂😂 maybe their well deserved end is soon coming, ha ha ha

@@Happypony26Ju Jing Yi probably uses doubles for stunts because she’s unhealthy skinny. And we all don’t even know if eats enough or what she eats. When you’re that thin, your bone density will weaken and even a minor injury might get you into a major problem. It’s a no joke. I’m saying this because when my weight dropped down to her level, my joints started to ache and quality of bones deteriorated significantly, so I had to gain weight back as doctors told me to. She, on the other hand, has been sustaining her low weight for many years now, and god knows what’s her condition actually is.
Isn't how the character is suppose to be perceived up to the director or am I missing something? Genuine question because when I hear the terms "acting ugly" or "acting pretty" I am assuming that the actor is just doing what they have been told to do.

Hi Marcus! I’ve watched Ju Jing Yi drama “In Blossom” till episode 20 then quit. What I’m hooked watching right now is The Legend Of Shen Li , Zhao Liying and Kenny Lin are truly exceptional actors, the chemistry between them is beyond compare just as like before in Princess Agents. While some criticism is justified, but to say JJY is a bad actress, period, is a blanket statement that stems from a personal bias, especially from those who are fixated on her hair and makeup. She has moved me to tears and laughter in a number of dramas. Also, directors need to bear some responsibility in what they want the actor to convey. I'm still engrossed in In Blossom; laughed with her when she was high on a drink at the gambling house, cried with her in episode 16 and, and although I have yet to reach episodes 27/28, the BTS filming of the prison scene when Pan Yue came to see her after she was falsely jailed brought me to tears, as well. Overall, JJY has done a credible job here; especially in her portrayal of the original Shangguan Zhi that I want to see her in a drama as the protagonist embodying both a kickass “don’t mess with me” character hiding a sensitive side or vice versa. BTW, you should check out her skit in Phantacity 2018; she brought most of the audience to tears. Anyway, I have faith that as she ages out of "idol", she will "blossom" into more mature roles. At the end of the day, there will always be haters and crazy fans, and thousands of us who enjoy her performances, whether as a singer, musician, or actress; because, looks aside, she is one multi-talented young lady.

Blossom in adversity is good so far. I'm excited for it, thank goodness Hu yitian has got a role I'm excited about. And.. Sword and fairy 1, is worth a watch, that guy is in the Legend of Shen Li, he looked so familiar, took me awhile to figure out, he's Shen Li, supposed to be fiancé 🤣, I say, he's a good actor. It is OK to say your opinion but when someone is gaining popularity by spitting on someone, and at the same time praising someone who is on the same level with that bad actress? I just don't like it. I didn't like watching JJY before but her acting improved in this drama, I don't care about her appearance, nobody doesn't complain when longhair man is flying around and his hairstyle is perfection 😂. My hair is long and it's unreal and impossible trust me. I don't have prejudice to any person so I will not criticise an actor because of the same reasons I don't mind on another actor.

Wishing Cheng Yi all the best through this💪 I sincerely don't understand why her beauty is such a big fuss... If we want her in an ugly role, we can still be civil about the request instead of ambushing her. Every actor has a start and can be welcoming to criticism, but how is she supposed to grow artistically with all this stigma. People should keep in mind that being an idol doesn't make her any less of human and that she has emotions too to which attention should be accorded. Let us just hold out hope that she will take all this advise in stride and continue to grow in her career.
Marcus Hi I have to admit that I occasionally also view the updates of another blogger (a Chinese lady who now like yourself resides in Canada). By watching her content, I have learned that the last thing one leaves behind is his prejudices; if one believes those who have been graced by "natural beauty" are just empty good looking puppets do not "deserve" their good life or luck, then nothing on heaven & earth will change that idea. I find that "envy" features heavily in the Asian mindset. Moreover, it is not identified as a toxic, negative emotion. For anyone with a Christian background, the very opposite is true. For the earliest memory of consciousness, we are taught envy will destroy any chance of even hoping for a "serene" existence. It takes everyone to make up this world. Even those whose pretty faces are their main merit. Ugliness for its own sake really carries little weight!
I believe that is your own opinion. But I too watch this other blogger you are speaking of and I don’t get any envy from her about other women’s beauty. I do share in her frustration of finding solid actors to play roles to make a drama watchable. It’s pretty archaic to think just because someone is giving a review that they are envious of others look. In all the dramas I’ve see this particular actress in she has acted the same way. She’s not the only actor out there, there’s lots of them. But that’s kind of the drama world now, what makes money is slap a cheap storyline together with good looking people and bam, money making machine. Chinese dramas are losing quality and has created a culture of brainwashing people to only watch dramas with good looking people. I’ve heard people make comments like he’s not good looking or she’s not good looking so I’m not going to watch it. Now that’s an issue our society has created and that feeds in the obsession with plastic surgery, but that’s a whole other conversation.
@@uaher6841 I am not an Asian & no longer a young person (almost 65 years old). For me the Chinese culture is one of "many", not dominant nor superior. The Chinese of today, largely do not, I think, acknowledge that today's China perfectly showcases an Asian version of rampant Capitalism whatever else the political elites of China tell the people of China. Capitalism breeds envy, inequality & a lack of empathy between individuals. The intrinsic value of each human being is often ignored or even denied. We Europeans are conscious of having been blinded by Capitalism & the lure of monetary gain at all costs. On my side of the world, we are paying the cost of the choices made over the last 50+ years. The Italians say: tutto il mondo e paese (the whole world is the same). Everyone will do well to remember this.
There's nothing wrong with having a beautiful face. But it's honestly a problem when one cannot face criticism to improve in a profession that relies on not only talent, but hard work. Capitalist society or not, religious or not, criticism is not the same as envy. Without criticism, there is no reflection.

If constructive in spirit, rather than principally meant to belittle and hurt the ego of the other, it might indeed lead to self reflection. This fact too must be accepted. You can lead a horse to water but not make it drink!
I liked Ju Jingyi in In Blossom, but her decision to say that she is willing to act ugly, speaks volumes about her. I don't think that adding grime to her face is what she needs to show off her acting skills.

I think Ju Jingyi needs to take other roles to improve on her acting skills. This is a very competitive industry and just acting cute and pretty all the time won’t cut it. And it’s very unfair to other actresses because they could have taken up that role and become a star and shine.
She has already taken another role playing the evil Miss Shangguan in “In Blossom”, episodes 2-3. She did a great job with that character. She should pursue similar roles in the future.
Asking JJY to act ugly for a role? you're asking for her life LOL. If she's JJY and not someone else trapped in her body, there's no way she's gonna act ugly. Her definition of ugly probably still full face of makeup, standard red lipstick, neatly styled hair without exposing a tiny bit of her scalp and hairline, and fluttery eyelashes.
I'm really liking "The Farewell Song". "Legend of Shen Li" has not had me have to FF one time. It's constantly intriguing and emotional. Also, still enjoying "In Blossom". As for Ju Jingyi, (loving her in IB), maybe she hasn't gotten the right role yet. Check out the beautiful Charlize Theron in "Monster". the "ugly" can be done my friends.
I have dropped out several Chinese drama lately due to either cliche storyline, bad scripts or bad acting. It is pretty boring indeed. Mostly, Chinese drama these days would started ok for the first 3-4 eps then went down hill with inconsistent storyline or many plot holes. The idol series, particularly the costume ones, in which the actors and actress putting on heavy make-up all the time are also unbearable. Why don’t they produced good drama/series with a perfect cast like Nirvana in fire these days?
I believe censorship is killing creativity in China. So pathetic. They keep churning out the same drama theme all the time. Drama like Empresses in the palace etc are no longer made. Forcing we C drama addict to watch K Dramas.

Yes, Liu Zueyi deserved SO MUCH MORE than this particular drama partner . I don't watch any drama with JJY in it. I tried once and couldn't stomach it.
I see you give the drama rundown every week as web or tv, but I've been wondering for a while, doesn't that give lower totals for dramas, like War of Faith that is available on TV and on streaming? Surely there has been some drama that screened on both at the same time that would have rated top 10 on both platforms.

As a non-chinese person with no knowledge of who JJY was, I started watching In Blossom. The first actress had such effortless chemistry with the ml that I googled her to find her other dramas. In episode 3, the awful face swap happened and JJY took over. She is not a good actress. Over exaggerated expressions, dangling hair strands, so much black powder on her head that even her hair parting was black. There was no chemistry between them. Getting plastic surgery is one thing but becoming plastic is another. JJY looks like anime and it just became unbearable to watch the drama that started out so strong. Imagine a non-idol actress acting this bad. Will she ever get more dramas after such bad performance?

She's indeed an actress who can't act LOL. It's like she's just playing herself in every drama. Have you seen that scene where she's supposed to be hanging? It's so ridiculous, like she's not even trying to make it look a little bit realistic - the rope isn't even touching her neck. If she ever appeared on an acting class variety show, she'd gonna get ridiculed by all the senior actors there.

What exactly does act ugly mean? You can be ugly, but how do you act ugly. Ugly is an adjective that is usually used to describe a noun. Example the woman was ugly. Woman being the noun. Acting or act is a verb or an action. You can't act ugly. You either are or you're not ugly. You can't act it. Ju Jingyi is a good singer, hee voice is amazing! but being actress it’s different , her emotions are not on point a lot of times.. to say the least she is not that much of a good actress unfortunately! From all the dramas she is in -I was only able to watch one from the start to the end (the one drama with Song Weilong and that’s because I wanted to watch Song Weilong’s drama 😂) in Blossoms I have to drop it half way, I thought she was good as a villain but that didn’t last long. She doesn’t have chemistry with Liu Xueyi 😢 I don’t know! … Why is Xu Kai’s drama with Yang Zi premier first rather than with Seven Tan ?! Btw the story of Hua Zhi started good with Zhang Jingyi with Hu Tian 😊 I can’t wait to see their chemistry together.
I didn't know any of the actresses in In Blossom. I gave up on the show after the 8th episode. As much as the first LF impressed me (authenticity, charisma), the 2nd actress disappointed me. She was incapable of making us believe she was the character. As a result, after the 3rd episode, I didn't get attached to the characters or the story. I've just realized that this actress is well known, but for me, she should erase In Blossom from her cinematic CV because she's so bad.

I am enjoying War of Faith, though it's not my usual sort of drama. I'm impressed by Wang Yibo's acting in this, it's clear that he has a genuine talent for acting and he's getting better and better with every project he does. I'm glad he is getting meatier roles and transitioning into being a serious actor, I like idol dramas too but there's no denying they can be a bit superficial when it comes to acting nuance.

War of Faith is worth watching even if this isn't your usual type of show. You get so invested in the characters and the plot is exciting and there's a lot of feels.
This trio of war of faith is really excellent. Bo did his thing playing Rulai. So naturally dedicated. Proud of him 💚
Why is Cheng Yi being sued by an agency which he has no connection since 2015?! I just don't understand what's happening and it doesn't affect his image and work projects. He is such an excellent actor with a humble and simple personality. Thanks for the updates Marcus. Appreciation from Brazil!
That agency is just rotten. They went bankrupt a while ago. They sued all their former artists and even sued a cleaning worker. They lost all the previous lawsuits. They're just desperate. Now that Cheng yi is getting popular they're just trying to grab money from him. They alleged that they gave him his stage name Cheng yi so they have the right to take it back. It's kind of funny actually.
The problem is jujingyi fans are unwilling to accept her actress couldn’t act, she isn’t at the same level as zhao liying yang mi yangzi or liu yifei even bailu. Thanks to her popularity as former SHN48 idol who bring her till today. I like her as singer but not actress. No hate but facts.
For JJY, they are not just criticisms, but the truth. She should take them seriously and improve herself if she respects acting
People like to criticize JJY but their opinions are just that, "their opinion only." At her age in the industry, with the amount of money she has made, recently obtaining a top award as a singer and doing well as an actress, the only thing she needs to take seriously is herself and what she wants out of life.

War of Faith, a very interesting narrative of the corruption of the time, which gives way to a revolution, although personally I wish that people can prosper in peaceful processes and not in violent revolutions, but that is History. Wang Yibo's performance is surprising, much more expressive and different from his impassiveness in "Untamed", he is a promising young talent. Excellent Wang Yang!, Very good Zhang Tian Yang as the cruel inspector. I am glad that the director incorporated great actors like Yang Kun as the greedy housekeeper Aunt Zhou, Li Wei Long moved me as the good friend Wen, Gong Yin Guo the retired oldie banker (he is divine!)

I don't think so she has improved even one bit. You should check her earlier dramas, she has similar expressions (totally over exaggerated ones), she always dresses to the nine even if the scene doesn't demand it. I could never complete any her dramas just because her acting is so bad. Yes she is pretty and I don't know about her singing but I guess she is good at that. Maybe she should stick to it...not all people are made for acting.

YY had surgery on his knee recently so hope he gets better soon. The whole CY thing is confusing; if his contract with that other agency expired in 2015 or 2017 and he's with a new agency, why are these ppl hounding him in 2024? That makes absolutely no sense. Hope that works itself out. I finished watching In Blossom (gave it an 8.5/10) yesterday after express was dropped; I have no qualms about JJY's acting. I've only seen her twice before and I think she's improved especially opposite LXY. Still watching Burning Flames (though I hope they drop express tomorrow) and ShenLi but may check out Blossoms in Adversity at some point later this week; you made the premise sound interesting. I made my first comments of today before watching your update till the end so I really must add the following. Your celebrity news section today was an object lesson in fair & informative broadcasting. You touched on the issue of "idols" being regarded by many the second class performers of the asian entertainment industry. Why is this? Is it because they entertain the ordinary persons who need glimpses of beauty, hope, adult fairytales to boost them through their less than happy or exciting days? A case in point is Ju Jingyi who has staying power if nothing else. I doubt if this young woman wants to go down in history as the greatest actress of all time so all the snug comments are really superfluous; the comments posted in her regard say more about the commenters & their vision of life than anything of substance about their target. Also I have come across so many quotes that hint that only "trained actors" are real actors. Here in the Mediterranean or in Europe no one is bothered about the "training" pedigree of the actor, or indeed by the absence of a history of same. How the actor prepares for his work activities is his own business. What we see & feel when watching the work of the actor is what counts, nothing else.

I find okay ju jingyi in this drama, she need to improve but people too harsh with her. She get body shaming, plastic surgery slanders, some people insult her very badly. Why should she listen to them who curse her and also change script for guest star. They don’t even respect script. They didn’t understand plot so blame everything to Ju Jingyi.

War of Faith is nearing its finale and is surprisingly good despite its "propaganda" element. Yibo has been a great surprise and like a wuxia practitioner, he broke through many higher levels of acting powers in this drama! 🤣 Li Qin and Wang Yang have such strong chemistry in their sibling relationship. Only frustrating part is that the common, naive folk keep dying but the gang of bad guys esp Wei Ruo Lai's enemies, 😂Lin Qiao Shen & his sidekick survive car explosions, building explosions and what not!😂😂😂 maybe their well deserved end is soon coming, ha ha ha

I’m saying this because when my weight dropped down to her level, my joints started to ache and quality of bones deteriorated significantly, so I had to gain weight back as doctors told me to. She, on the other hand, has been sustaining her low weight for many years now, and god knows what’s her condition actually is.

What I’m hooked watching right now is The Legend Of Shen Li , Zhao Liying and Kenny Lin are truly exceptional actors, the chemistry between them is beyond compare just as like before in Princess Agents. While some criticism is justified, but to say JJY is a bad actress, period, is a blanket statement that stems from a personal bias, especially from those who are fixated on her hair and makeup. She has moved me to tears and laughter in a number of dramas. Also, directors need to bear some responsibility in what they want the actor to convey. I'm still engrossed in In Blossom; laughed with her when she was high on a drink at the gambling house, cried with her in episode 16 and, and although I have yet to reach episodes 27/28, the BTS filming of the prison scene when Pan Yue came to see her after she was falsely jailed brought me to tears, as well. Overall, JJY has done a credible job here; especially in her portrayal of the original Shangguan Zhi that I want to see her in a drama as the protagonist embodying both a kickass “don’t mess with me” character hiding a sensitive side or vice versa. BTW, you should check out her skit in Phantacity 2018; she brought most of the audience to tears. Anyway, I have faith that as she ages out of "idol", she will "blossom" into more mature roles. At the end of the day, there will always be haters and crazy fans, and thousands of us who enjoy her performances, whether as a singer, musician, or actress; because, looks aside, she is one multi-talented young lady.

Sword and fairy 1, is worth a watch, that guy is in the Legend of Shen Li, he looked so familiar, took me awhile to figure out, he's Shen Li, supposed to be fiancé 🤣, I say, he's a good actor.

It is OK to say your opinion but when someone is gaining popularity by spitting on someone, and at the same time praising someone who is on the same level with that bad actress? I just don't like it. I didn't like watching JJY before but her acting improved in this drama, I don't care about her appearance, nobody doesn't complain when longhair man is flying around and his hairstyle is perfection 😂. My hair is long and it's unreal and impossible trust me. I don't have prejudice to any person so I will not criticise an actor because of the same reasons I don't mind on another actor.

I sincerely don't understand why her beauty is such a big fuss... If we want her in an ugly role, we can still be civil about the request instead of ambushing her. Every actor has a start and can be welcoming to criticism, but how is she supposed to grow artistically with all this stigma. People should keep in mind that being an idol doesn't make her any less of human and that she has emotions too to which attention should be accorded.
Let us just hold out hope that she will take all this advise in stride and continue to grow in her career.

I have to admit that I occasionally also view the updates of another blogger (a Chinese lady who now like yourself resides in Canada). By watching her content, I have learned that the last thing one leaves behind is his prejudices; if one believes those who have been graced by "natural beauty" are just empty good looking puppets do not "deserve" their good life or luck, then nothing on heaven & earth will change that idea. I find that "envy" features heavily in the Asian mindset. Moreover, it is not identified as a toxic, negative emotion. For anyone with a Christian background, the very opposite is true. For the earliest memory of consciousness, we are taught envy will destroy any chance of even hoping for a "serene" existence. It takes everyone to make up this world. Even those whose pretty faces are their main merit. Ugliness for its own sake really carries little weight!
I believe that is your own opinion. But I too watch this other blogger you are speaking of and I don’t get any envy from her about other women’s beauty. I do share in her frustration of finding solid actors to play roles to make a drama watchable. It’s pretty archaic to think just because someone is giving a review that they are envious of others look. In all the dramas I’ve see this particular actress in she has acted the same way. She’s not the only actor out there, there’s lots of them. But that’s kind of the drama world now, what makes money is slap a cheap storyline together with good looking people and bam, money making machine. Chinese dramas are losing quality and has created a culture of brainwashing people to only watch dramas with good looking people. I’ve heard people make comments like he’s not good looking or she’s not good looking so I’m not going to watch it. Now that’s an issue our society has created and that feeds in the obsession with plastic surgery, but that’s a whole other conversation.

The Chinese of today, largely do not, I think, acknowledge that today's China perfectly showcases an Asian version of rampant Capitalism whatever else the political elites of China tell the people of China. Capitalism breeds envy, inequality & a lack of empathy between individuals. The intrinsic value of each human being is often ignored or even denied. We Europeans are conscious of having been blinded by Capitalism & the lure of monetary gain at all costs. On my side of the world, we are paying the cost of the choices made over the last 50+ years. The Italians say: tutto il mondo e paese (the whole world is the same). Everyone will do well to remember this.
There's nothing wrong with having a beautiful face. But it's honestly a problem when one cannot face criticism to improve in a profession that relies on not only talent, but hard work. Capitalist society or not, religious or not, criticism is not the same as envy. Without criticism, there is no reflection.

I think Ju Jingyi needs to take other roles to improve on her acting skills. This is a very competitive industry and just acting cute and pretty all the time won’t cut it. And it’s very unfair to other actresses because they could have taken up that role and become a star and shine.

Mostly, Chinese drama these days would started ok for the first 3-4 eps then went down hill with inconsistent storyline or many plot holes. The idol series, particularly the costume ones, in which the actors and actress putting on heavy make-up all the time are also unbearable. Why don’t they produced good drama/series with a perfect cast like Nirvana in fire these days?
I believe censorship is killing creativity in China. So pathetic. They keep churning out the same drama theme all the time. Drama like Empresses in the palace etc are no longer made. Forcing we C drama addict to watch K Dramas.
I preferred the other actress in In blossom compared to Ju Jingyi, her looks, facial expression are same in all her dramas, her acting really ruined In Blossom for me as I was really looking forward to this, Liu Xueyi deserved better
Yes, Liu Zueyi deserved SO MUCH MORE than this particular drama partner . I don't watch any drama with JJY in it. I tried once and couldn't stomach it.

I see you give the drama rundown every week as web or tv, but I've been wondering for a while, doesn't that give lower totals for dramas, like War of Faith that is available on TV and on streaming? Surely there has been some drama that screened on both at the same time that would have rated top 10 on both platforms.
Vlinkage puts a drama in one category but takes into account all data if it airs on both

As a non-chinese person with no knowledge of who JJY was, I started watching In Blossom. The first actress had such effortless chemistry with the ml that I googled her to find her other dramas. In episode 3, the awful face swap happened and JJY took over. She is not a good actress. Over exaggerated expressions, dangling hair strands, so much black powder on her head that even her hair parting was black. There was no chemistry between them. Getting plastic surgery is one thing but becoming plastic is another. JJY looks like anime and it just became unbearable to watch the drama that started out so strong. Imagine a non-idol actress acting this bad. Will she ever get more dramas after such bad performance?

Ju JingYi’s acting is bad but better than a lot of other idols. Yang ChaoYue is terrible.
AvenueX also always hate every ChengYi’ series, even Mysterious Lotus Casebook. instead of praising the actors (male leads), she had to find their weakness to ridicule them.
In JJY case there is a difference between blatant hate directed at her which should be ignored or tackled with the law...but the criticism thrown at her now is warranted and should be take into consideration...so she can improve on her acting....by ignoring them, how can she figure out where she went wrong and how to do better??? That idol image has gotten her head I see...I love her, but I won't condone her stupidity...hopefully she take things seriously and improve on her acting...and for heavens sake who is gonna tell her she looks the same in all her dramas??😅... I mean she still so pretty even when being hanged😅😂😂...

LOL, I can't stand that hanging scene either. Seriously, her face isn't even touching the ropes - she's just holding onto them like it's no big deal. And yet, her die-hard fans still insist she's getting better. Well, she's definitely improving - she's just finding more ways to make herself look pretty in every situation.

She's indeed an actress who can't act LOL. It's like she's just playing herself in every drama. Have you seen that scene where she's supposed to be hanging? It's so ridiculous, like she's not even trying to make it look a little bit realistic - the rope isn't even touching her neck.
If she ever appeared on an acting class variety show, she'd gonna get ridiculed by all the senior actors there.

What exactly does act ugly mean? You can be ugly, but how do you act ugly. Ugly is an adjective that is usually used to describe a noun. Example the woman was ugly. Woman being the noun. Acting or act is a verb or an action. You can't act ugly. You either are or you're not ugly. You can't act it. Ju Jingyi is a good singer, hee voice is amazing! but being actress it’s different , her emotions are not on point a lot of times.. to say the least she is not that much of a good actress unfortunately! From all the dramas she is in -I was only able to watch one from the start to the end (the one drama with Song Weilong and that’s because I wanted to watch Song Weilong’s drama 😂) in Blossoms I have to drop it half way, I thought she was good as a villain but that didn’t last long. She doesn’t have chemistry with Liu Xueyi 😢

I didn't know any of the actresses in In Blossom. I gave up on the show after the 8th episode. As much as the first LF impressed me (authenticity, charisma), the 2nd actress disappointed me. She was incapable of making us believe she was the character. As a result, after the 3rd episode, I didn't get attached to the characters or the story. I've just realized that this actress is well known, but for me, she should erase In Blossom from her cinematic CV because she's so bad.
