What Does It Mean to Store up Treasure in Heaven?

In October of 2012 Randy spent a weekend at The Cove, The Billy Graham Association's conference center in Asheville, NC. Over the weekend Randy was interviewed by Dr. John Akers on the theme "Four Central Truths of A Biblical Worldview."
John asks Randy to explain what Jesus meant when he said, "Store up for yourselves treasure in Heaven?" Does it have any connection to our actual money. Randy asserts that the phrase "treasure in Heaven" in parallel passages refers to the giving of money as investments in Eternity. He looks at a passage in Philippians that describes the accounts being kept in heaven for the giving by the believers in Philippi.
