This car has 291000Km on the dash and it has a lot of problems. In this video I go trough and present you all of them.

291000km is definitely not bad for these cars. mine is on 401000km and still drives like a dream.
Sounds great! 👏
I will improve mine also, I promise! 😁
A4 b8 2.0 tdi it is said that they often have problems with the EGR valve, high pressure pump, injectors, is this true?
High pressure pump yes. I have no issues now, but a lot of people had. Injectors and EGR I don’t know. No issues for now 🤷♂️👍
This is German car you maintain it good it can last to 500k mileage
Such a nice guy. Humble.
Thank you! 🙏
If you bought an 11 year old 300k km car and your issues are worn leathers and some rust you bought a tank of a car.
😂 I think you are right 👍👍
Nothing really big there. Cool “project” car! Looking forward to see the the evolution of it 😊
Thank you! 🙏 I have big plans, but not so much time...
@@istillplaywithcars patience is a virtue bro ...good show ,big ups to u
Thank you very much! 😁
Great video!
Thank you! 🙏
I'm excited to watch content on this car.
Thank you! I have a lot of plans. Just been busy with other topics in the last days. But I will post soon. 😁
Audi is notorious for lots of issue. For me, any Audi car can go more than 150k km without any fix is magical. I bought a 220k km A4/B8 and it has overcome lots of repair but I’m happy it still works well now
Yes, you’re right. But I think this is common for most cars these days, especially the newer ones. 😁 I still like the B8, but in the future I might try a BMW also ‘cause I’ve never owned one.
i did buy one 2012 162000km and it is a chiped one 220 hp and its a very clean car really no rust super great exoust sound and drives like new and it looks like a rs4 monsoon gray
Sounds good! 👍 any issues at this mileage?
I owned the same car for 3 years and then exchanged it for A6 C7. They all have the same problems, dor locks, bad paint, easy chip, lights crack. Engines are great but there is too much other things to bother with so I sold that one aswell and exchanged it for a 2014 Volvo V40. It might not win the style, looks or engine fight in terms of power but it wins everything else in superior quality both outside and inside.
You are right! Audis are nice cars, but not the most reliable. At the moment I still have the energy to keep working on them, so I plan to have another Audi after this one. 😁 A Q5 is what I like now. 👍
@@istillplaywithcars 09 Q5 is basically A4 B8 on high wheels, i test drove 2 of those myself :D. I think if i ever go back to Audi it will be A7 Sportback 2012 but i doubt i will go back to them from Volvo
Actually I like the 2017 Q5. But curently I don’t have the money for it 😂🤦♂️ so maybe meanwhile I will get a 2012-2015 q5…
@@istillplaywithcars wouldnt recommend anything newer than 015 on audis, costs way too much for what you get.. i dug myself with a few year loan on that A6 C7.. you roll and feel like a king but you cant sleep at night thinking about payments, potential scratches etc.. just a freaking headlight module cost me 3k euros for that car because you cant change just "that part" on it..
So when the price of my A6 went down to 15k e, i swapped it for that Volvo.
Hmm… is it that bad? Sounds really expensive. 🤭🤔
Useful video. My A6 2008 has similar issues (310.000 km). 👍
Thank you! 🙏
But you have good maintenance, am i right?
1:06 I need that plastic cover but i dont know how is it called im missing it on my car, where i can get one please thanx
Useful vid 👍 thx !
Thank you! 👍🏻 don’t buy old cars 😂
@@istillplaywithcars I totally agree with you, but I am a bit scared also about the quality level of new cars. 😂
😂 I can’t argue with that...
Easy fixes. Take care of them and it will be alright. Great car.
Thank you! I’m on my way 😁🙏
ahh i love my 2010 audi a4 2.0tdi where the transmission cooler lines cracked open at 199K kms requiring the entire CVT to be removed just to change over some metal pipe
😂🤦♂️ yeah, if it’s not a maintenance topic, it’s most of the times complicated…
@@istillplaywithcars we ended up removing the DPF, way easier :D
My A6 c6 2009 also 200.000 km and have same problem , but easy to turn it back to perfect condition with 4000$ and now it drives like a 50k km car
Sounds good! But 4000$ is too much to invest in my a4. 😁👍 I have plans to build a garage at my home 😁
I am facing the exact same problem with the stiff steering, and it is also shacking at low rpms. Squeaky noises comes out of the engine bay in the morning. Changing the belt and the tensioner could fix the problem ?
Changing the belt and tensioner will solve the squeaking noises. In order to chech this you can spray some water on the belt when the engine is running, you will notice the noise will disapear.
Regarding the steering, I plan to change the power steering pump. If this doesn’t solve it I will change the steering rack and upgrade to servotronic (1N3).
@@istillplaywithcars did you manage to fix it? If yes, what was it? Mine has the exact Same Problem :/
After I’ve changed the belt, tensioner and alternator pulley, the steering is much much softer. Alt low rpms I still feel some vibrations, but I can live with that. So for me, this made e big difference, I don’t feel the need to change the steering rack anymore. 😁👍
4:12 That's a worn idler pulley bearing, not a worn accessories belt in my opinion. (Power steering) did you even check the power steering fluid level? Low PS fluid will cause pump whine, and a hard to turn pulsating steering wheel.
Hi! You are right, my wording was not the best 😂 the pulley is creating the squeaking noise. Still haven’t changed it.
Regarding the PS I’ve checked the fluid level and it’s just right… that’s why I think the pump needs replacement.
@@istillplaywithcars Yes in that case your pump might be gone. I'm looking into buying an a4 2009 2.0t quattro(Canada) The market is quite nice for those many of them around 200,000km go for 2500$CAD. I currently own an '05 Acura RSX(Honda integra in EU) now have 3 kids and the rsx is only 4 seats, the family doesn't all fit so I've been looking around for a new car(sedan) and always liked how Audi's looked. I have been looking around youtube and google to see how reliable those Audi's really are, they have a bad reputation in North America for being unreliable, hard to work on cars, with very expensive parts. After some research it's def more labor intensive then Honda's and parts are definitively a bit more expensive, but anyone with good mechanic background can do most of the labor easily with the right tools. Yours is diesel and wagon, so def different to the model I'm looking to buy, but so far how do you like the car?
I really like the car. I used to have a b8.5 before this one, you can se it in my older videos. It was a great car, quattro, s-tronic, loved everything about it. I’ve bought this one knowing it needed some love because I wanted to make these youtube videos, but slowly it’s getting where it should be, a nice audi.
The diesels are quite reliable engines, they can last up to 600k with only minimum fixes. The petrol engines have the well known oil consumption issue. If you manage to find one with oil issue fix (new pistons) you will be loving it.
Right now the interior of my car was removed (front and back seats) because I am cleaning it.
I hope you make the best decision for you and your familly. 👍
@@istillplaywithcars Thnx man, I hope youtube algorithm gets you to the top! keep the hard work. I gave you a sub.
Thank you!! 🙏
280.000km!Not bad at all This is not serious problems from a car 2009 model and 280.000km
Hi! You are absolutely right! I have 311000 km roght now, still drives very good, like a tank 😂👍
Is your Steering stiff all the way, or only in some Points?
My Steering was only stiff in some points
It’s stiff all around. What eas the fix for yours?
@@istillplaywithcars it was the universal joint of the Steering Shaft, you can find some Videos about it. But I think if the universal joint of the Steering Shaft is stiff your Steering is only in some Points stiff. But on that Point I'm not really sure.
I changed the Steering Shaft and my Problem was solved.
Thank you!! 👍👍👍
280k isn't high mileage, definitely shows it's age though.. probably hasn't been loved the most
the steering wheel could be cleaned with an APC and gentle magic eraser wipe over to get rid of the gloss
Thanks Martin! It’s true, I’ve had a pssat with 600k km in the past, I was a the 3rd engine swap 😂🤦♂️… for the steering wheel i will probably clean it soon, but I have in plan to replace the leather. It’s not expensive to do this and the result is like a brand new steering wheel. 😁
What age? I have an A4 sline from 2010. SPOTLESS clean. Nothing worn or tared up
Hi! 😁 I’m not sure I get the tip. To not use APC for plastics? Or for leather? 🤔 thanks! 🙏
Now I understand. I didn’t used APC for leather, I’ve used Gyeon leather cleaner strong, for seats and steering wheel. 😁 I just didn’t added in the interior cleaning video because I have other videos which show how I clean this.
Thank you for your advice! I really agree with you. APC is dangerous for leather. 🙏👍
Sincer, cred că are mai mulți km în realitate și de curiozitate cât a costat mașina?
Salut! 5700€ a fost, inmatriculata in Ro. Din ce am verificat istoric in reprezentanta, facturi si alte cele pare sa fie cu km reali. 🤷♂️
Get the android upgrade on your vehicle (10,25 inch or 12 inch)! I just bought a 2012 Audi A4 b8.5 and plan on doing that upgrade (mine I bought with 204000 km's) I also bought dynamic side mirror blinkers and black mirror caps (my avant is white with black rims)
Yep, nice, black mirrors with white car looks really nice. Regarding the Android update, I don’t really like the aspect of it. I would chose the apple carplay upgrade on the original MMI or Concert system. 😁 but I’m sure that the Android ulgrade is much more capable system.
@@istillplaywithcars the android upgrade has Apple carplay! It supports both Android auto and Apple carplay
2012 A4 is B8 if I’m not wrong. B8.5 starts from 2013

290.000 km is not a lot, saw the same engine with 700k/800k from taxi driver still going ok , yours as been neglected by previous owner probably , but are easy fix , good luck
Thank you! You’re right, 290k it’s not a big number. Car drives much better now 😁
@@istillplaywithcars same opinion, i had b6 with 600k and it was like new
Why have you downgraded from the B8.5 to this B8 and is it still worth it at 280.000km?
I wanted to release some cash so I can start and build a garage at home. Which I did. 😁 that’s also one of the reasons I have not posted since a loooong time. I was too busy with the construction site… 🤦♂️
Ok, so I guess I have about 50000km left until I get to this stage :D

my car has 386k, i only had to replace high presure fuel pump. everything else works.
Hi! Dis the pump failed before replacement? Or you did it to prevent the failure?
@@istillplaywithcars i had to replace it because it failed.
I want to buy a audi but i think i better stick to my old 2000 honda it drives like its new everything still works an still no rust
Hi. I have never owned a honda, so I can’t judge. But I can sau that a change of brand might be beneficial from time to time. 👍
My honda from 2000 have 266.000 km on it and really it runs still great
I’ve heard that Honda are great reliable cars. I can’t say the same about Audi 😂
Haha I bought 2009 with 200k km but yours is 2008 unfortunately 😅. I changed Clutch set, chaining Belt, ac compressor, cap lock (Aliexpress 12usd), parking break button. Will check turbocharger also 😅🤣

@@istillplaywithcars mie mi a schimbat fratele meu cureaua acasa.
@@istillplaywithcars Conducta este fix 1500 lei in cap. Plus manopera, 300-400 lei. Pot sa-ti spun ca a meritat investitia. Looking at a 2009 a4 160k miles not sure if I should take a shot
Hi! Is it petrol or diesel?
So. Hounestly..what do you expect with that mileage? Stone damage, yeah..duhh. seats worn and steeringwheel. Duhhh.Yeah,so?
Engine pullys and belts: previous owner did NOT take care of it. Upper rust: did you see the brake light? I believe its not original..they did not proper repair the roof after put that brake light in.
Rust in engine bay: not good maintenance. Clutch.i think the first clutch. Never replaced it..
Try to find a toyota, nissan or a crap american car with THAT mileage and that car is litterallt falling apart. So dont talk stupid, man. Maintenance..THATS the key
These are clear signs of bad maintenance, it’s clear. Just before this car I had another A4, 210k km. It was in mint condition, loked and drove like a new care.
I’m not saying all a4 will have these issues, but I think it’s good to know what to expect at this mileage and also what to look for. 😁
this car has 500k
I hope not 😂
how does it cost to you?
It was around 5700€ if I remeber well. Not 100% sure 😂
@@istillplaywithcars from witch country did it come to Romania?
From Germany, almost 2 years before I bought it. So I’m the second owner in Romania.
@@istillplaywithcars looks like, Audi saw salty roads, strange that roof side has rusts. How about bottom side, do it have rusts?
Not really under the car, it looks quite good. I think it’s more an issue with the body parts. Wings were replace by warranty in the first years also because of rust.
Remap it drag race
😂 sounds like a plan!! 👍 I still need to change the clutch now.
This is you not knowing how to clean, maintaining and not knowing how to use clutch properly.
