This guy will never die. Think about it. He cheats death every day. His style and music will live forever. There are only, probably, a dozen people in the world, that can stand on the same stage with this legend.
Fellow guitarists, if you want to learn "economy picking", don't learn from shredders , just take a look at Keith's right hand. The way he hits the strings with his pick. Depending on the song, it can be a soft, gentle caress, or he is using all his arm. I try to learn the "Gimme Shelter" opening (with the Winos), it's a little miracle of sweetness, but it sticks to the worrying mood of the song. Direct from keith to your guts. Sorry for this mass of off topic, but i really like this man. If you read his book, of course he mentions the drugs, but mosly it's : love for black music, hard work on the axe, learning from each other, dedication to music, and so on.. Soory for the mistakes too, not english speaking here.
Even if I'm having a rough day, I seem to feel better knowing Keith Richards is still among us. I was fortunate enough to have seen the Winos play live on both US tours. Exceptional shows... I hope Keith will pull these guys together for another. This is a very tight band.
leonardoboy2 His Favorite as well, after all he whacked a guy in the ribs with a 1972 Black Custom back in 1981 for storming the stage during the song “Satisfaction” !!!!
Laura Lovesthestones I am jealous! As cool and mischievous as people know Keith is, Bobby was his partner in crime for years. Funny, cool guy! I miss his playing
this is great, one of the best rhythm sections ever (with Keith of course adding to that)....same drummer and bassist backed Neil Young on the great SNL Rockin in the Free World performance that keeps getting taken down. Seek it out if you can find it.
@beam52 I wish they would release the footage from the Houston Summit in '77 and some of the other shows that were filmed during that tour...you can see two songs "Tumblin' Dice" and Zevon's "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" on the movie FM...
That is SERIOUS badass rock! A simple but deadly chord riff. The drum-beat is WAY out there, deceptively simple and hard. Compare this metal to Boyzone! I pity the kids nowadays.
I seen an article in Guitar Player magazine years ago when Keith said he had to save Waddy Watchel from playing with the women he had been playing with. Lol. Get him back to a man's rock and roll. Lol.
this guy didn't make a deal with the devil, he just stared him down and took what he pleased
Best take on Keith...ever. You nailed it, you fucking nailed it.
Yes indeedy! :D

I swear, Keith must be part cat! He's being given chance after chance after chance to live life to the fullest!
9 lives this dude's got!

Dude is an amazing guitar player, song writer and fellow Sagittarius.
Thanks Keef!
Nobody does the blues/rock guitar like Keith..

Keith Richards lives in a world without any doubts or regrets, whether in 1964 or 2012.
A true warrior.A man of honor.
I love Kieths vocals and boogie-to your-soul riffs...
Ex-Pensive Winos. Best band name ever.
He looks and sounds better than ever !
This song and BAND pretty much TELL IT ALL here! One of my favorite TRUE ROCK songs! Am I wrong?
One of the most badass songs ever. If this was Stones song instead of just Richards, easily would have been their best of the last 25 years
He sounds great on the telecaster!
leonardoboy2 His Favorite as well, after all he whacked a guy in the ribs with a 1972 Black Custom back in 1981 for storming the stage during the song “Satisfaction” !!!!
Stoned immaculate and I just had to light my spliff @ 3.32 ....that was a killer guitar riff.
Keith is a legend and good to see him enjoying the gig.
Oh fuck yes!!!
GREAT guitar tones here ....
One of my favourite songs!! Just love it!! Super!
Waddy Wachtel really makes such an impact...I love all the Winos, but man Waddy is amazing! Don't forget Bobby Keys on the shaker!
garbeaj
Bobby Keys! Legend!
Love Bobby Keys...I had the pleasure of meeting him in January. A hell of a nice guy, gives the best bear hugs!
Laura Lovesthestones
I am jealous! As cool and mischievous as people know Keith is, Bobby was his partner in crime for years. Funny, cool guy! I miss his playing
I’ve spent a few nights on UA-cam watching Keith share the stage with some of the icons in music.
*Wild! Wicked! Wonderful!*
Great tune and groove!
Keef is awesome. Love his pickin, voice and moves. :)
Keith and mates , many still going, some sadly RIP sax legend bobby keys
Thank you! Keith is the Rock N' Roll!!!!!!
how can you not love this guy
That guitar!!
Love the "sharp" drums on Keefs solo albums! Like a stripped down version of The Stones! Read his book LIFE. Brilliant stuff.
Absolutely the real thing.
me bloody hero! tasteful licks & subtle grace with a pick
They are masters!!!!
You're AWESOME! THANK YOU!😎
Keith🎵🎸
Keef is cooler than the other side of the pillow.
That is an awesome analogy!
Fabulous! :-)
Wicked good......long live Keith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the Winos!!!! Better than the stones at this point
Keith teaches .A superb lesson on how one can play the guitar.
This song just screams Billy Bob Thornton. This is meant as a compliment. "Why don't you get?... Get over me"! Love it!
As much as I love Keith's cleanish tone, when Waddy comes in at 0:15 with chainsaw...damn what a pairing!
this is great, one of the best rhythm sections ever (with Keith of course adding to that)....same drummer and bassist backed Neil Young on the great SNL Rockin in the Free World performance that keeps getting taken down. Seek it out if you can find it.
Inconfundible, cada riff vale oro. Puro arte...
amazin brother...
Great stuff! Keef!!!!
Steve Jordon, is a phenomenal drummer.
Karma
Great band. The late Bobby Keys on percussion.Played sax on Brown Sugar.
Look, Keith knows he is not the front man, but he is the best side man in the business
I can’t help but to think of Voodoo lounge and /or Bridges “your love is strong,” tune. Regardless, Love it ! Long live KEEF
JUST PERFECT KEITH DIEU VIVANT !!!
Fantastıc Work
This is ing Great.
I bet Mick hates it that Keefs band sounds so freakin awesome
El 1 !!!
keef wonderful singer and gitterplayer
Just as gritty and dirty like I love my music.
@beam52 I wish they would release the footage from the Houston Summit in '77 and some of the other shows that were filmed during that tour...you can see two songs "Tumblin' Dice" and Zevon's "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me" on the movie FM...
🍷
Pure Badass..
@garbeaj That would have been a great show...I saw him in the early eighties in Toronto playing with Linda Ronstadt......hardcore playing, stands out
@beam52 Saw him with Stevie Nicks, Chris Isaak and others on the Peter Asher Buddy Holly tribute show...hardcore tone and great playing for days!
With the awesome Waddy Watchel on lead guitar.
keefer needs to hit the road again with x-winos... it's time!!!!!
Awwww, come on back to Chicago darlin'...pretty please!
rocks!
GRANDE RICHARDS!!!
magic...magic...
What venue was he at here. I can't figure out how I missed this show.
Waddy Wachtel on the other guitar?
@Keithaholic1 I saw them in "88 at the Palladium, and "92 somewhere in Phoenix. Both shows were rock solid.
Qué bestia!
Grandpa rocks. Yreah!
Listen to that bass!
@63Brummie Well said!
Wonderful, perfect Keith, he will in MUSIC SOUL :)
@garbeaj Waddy does rock he is incredible
Life is a two way street, gppd sometimes. and at other times WICKED
Was this filmed at the Aragon?
Damn lucky bastards.. that Tele sounds like it can cut thru like a rusty blade...
That is SERIOUS badass rock! A simple but deadly chord riff. The drum-beat is WAY out there, deceptively simple and hard. Compare this metal to Boyzone! I pity the kids nowadays.
Mr Rock N Roll
It´s only rocknroll but i like it.
Time for the Winos reunioun tour..... Waddy, Steve, Keith, Bobby et. al........
😎
Waddy freakin' Wachtel
Did you noticed Bobby Keys was there, with no sax?
nothing touches this.
WICKED!
just when you think you won't come across anything else from him thats good and then poof ! there's another one :-)
It's "Wicked As It Seems," not "As Wicked . . . " A fan would know. And, yes, it matters.
I seen an article in Guitar Player magazine years ago when Keith said he had to save Waddy Watchel from playing with the women he had been playing with. Lol. Get him back to a man's rock and roll. Lol.
naughty by nature
Anyone know the chord sequence (and where to put the capo)?
steve conn no capo needed. Open G tuning feel it out after you learned the Keith style of playing.
Cooler than a titanic ice-berg .
ik heb de zelfde tele van 1972 maar niet de vingers van keith
MUY PIOLA
Waddy's playing a nice old Les Paul there - looks like a '58 or '59. Don't see too many of those on the road these days!
Play it keef!
Why are his solo records superior to the Sontes output after 1994? What a shame they reformed...he was flourishing as a solo act.
good bad keith
