- MPGomatic.com drops the hammer on a 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid for a 0-60 MPH acceleration test. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid's 2.5 liter inline four/hybrid system uses an E-CVT.
Test performed with Traction Control off.

@W33Dblazer That's not what you said, you said it was slow for what you pay, meaning you're looking at it on a HP 0-60/$ scale, which is irrelevant. Anyway you might as well get used to it, BMW, Merc, Caddy, Audi ect.... are all switching to I4s in their new large sedans and at much higher price points, they will be just as slow if not slower for a much higher price. You can thank CAFE regulations.
@Nebraskahusker23 a hybrid doesnt mean it isnt a drivers car. most might be 4 cyl but theres going to be hybrids with 200hp electric motors on 400hp gas engines for a fun drive with fuel economy.

@W33Dblazer the MKZ Hybrid costs exactly the same as the regular MKZ, if you want more power and less mpg, get the 3.5L V6
@bigM10231 Because if you enjoy driving a car at all, you would hate CVT transmissions. They put them in hybrids though because the transmissions supposedly help get better mileage and if you're buying a hybrid you obviously don't enjoy driving very much.

@Nebraskahusker23 take a look at motortrend's test of the Infinity M35h on their channel it was posted 2 weeks ago, definitely a fun hybrid, not 6 figures. The numbers this thing runs is unheard of with hybrids, especially for weighing 4,500 lbs.

@bigM10231 Sure there are...if you'd like to spend 6 figures on a Porsche 918. Other than that, fun hybrids people can afford won't be around for a very, very long time.
Thanks for the demo! I was wondering about the 0-60, and 9 seconds is quite satisfactory for vehicle we can deliver upwards of 40 miles per gallon on average along with the luxury is ride and appointments.

not bad could be faster but its not too bad
what really matters is the mpgs
@W33Dblazer Since when has a cars price determined how fast it was? A little puny srt-4 would smoke most the cars on the road that were 3 times it's price in it's day. This car's intention is to sell the Fusion Hybrid to the more upmarket buyer. A 5.0 Mustang will smoke a Maybach, does that mean the Maybach is too expensive for how fast it can go?
I4s make up a majority of car engines sales in the U.S. If it's not a sports car don't expect it to be a rocket ship.

Well i'm not a supporter of 4Bangers,more like 10Liter V8s but whoever gets Luxury Cars usually ain't getting to the track to beat other people,so a Hybrid I4 is in my opinion good reliable and efficient for such applications... But still having at least a V6 the atmosphere is hotter.

It is in reality a styling exercise to prove it can be done. When you consider the power to weight ratio of battery power combined with the limited range it is still an expensive toy. Until we see electric cars competing in racing against piston engines it is an oxymoron.
