thanks rang i appreciate it! i try to give as much info as i can in these short videos, especially without opening a DAW. Soon as I do that it will exclude a fair amount of people in the audience watching! thanks again for your comment!!
The thing with the verses is there isn't an actual bass but an 808 bass that is covering the brass in the verses. Along with the oscillation of the arps and the arpeggiated percussions which gave such a nice vibe. Finally, that chorus synth was insanely nostalgic, it enhanced the chorus feeling by a ton.
nice analysis! thank you so much for reviewing Red Velvet's Psycho. I am so proud of them as a ReveLuv and really thankful to the song's producer as well. 😉
Not my favorite part per se but I really liked how they first tricked the audience with a hinted sudden false ending (when the door shuts) then the second repeat of the second chorus for the rhythm and overall music simultaneously going contrary to one another: the beat turns more intense - rising the tension - while the instrumentation slowly brings the tension down hinting the end of the piece. I also enjoyed the other elements you've pointed at. Probably my favorite song of 2019. I was looking forward to your reaction/analysis. You didn't disappoint ;)
I hear loads of Baroque motifs going on--the minimalism in that intro giving all kinds of space to the airy vocals, the pizzicato you mentioned, and let's not forget the outright ounterpoint all over the place, a good choice for a song about an up/down, good/bad relationship.
It kills me that you make no mention whatsoever of Red Velvet's stellar vocal ad-libs. Not many girl-groups in Kpop even do them, never mind as good as RV does them.
fair point riff and you are right, the vocals are great! i tend not to focus as much on them as they arent my strength, music production is! have you heard the demo version of the song? the vocals are louder in that mix and it really shows off their vocal skill! i appreciate your comment!! :)
@@AZODi Wendy has been on the record stating the her favorite part of the recording process is after the main vocal tracks are laid. They get rough mixes to take home and digest. Then a few days later, they go back into the studio to spend a couple days doing ad-libs. She says that's when the songs really come together for her.
@@AZODi You don't need to break it down and analyze it as much as you do with the music production, but a sprinkling of enthusiastic reactions to great vocal instances can be something that can appease stans and help us, the audience, differentiate a bit between groups

I love this really in depth analysis, it's amazing to have this point of view... but I have to say I just can't understand how not to be SHOCKED and AMAZED about the pre-chorus voices (first Wendy and then Seulgi), I was taken a little out of place with that because it's impossible not to be amazed about that (but I love the analysis, it's just something that got me a little shocked)

Happy New Year, great to start 2020 with one of your reaction videos, I enjoyed the tune greatly. If I am not mistaken, the "spiccato" technique is when one bounces the bow on the string (not as much as ricochet or sautille though), whereas "staccato" would be the detaché articulation, which is normally less powerful in terms of attack, unless played marcato. Happy to stand corrected if I am mistaken 🙂
HNY to you too! yeah ure prob right tbh haha I only know how it sounds from listening and playing around with orchestral libraries, but I never see HOW they are played! I just found your channel and am really appreciating your deep dive into production of kpop songs. If you could, I'm really interested in hearing your opinion on Chungha. She's an amazing solo artist and her songs Gotta Go and Snapping are amazing. Gotta Go has this flute like sound in the back that's amazing and the two part chorus is killer. I'd definitely love your opinion please! New sub btw.

Hey Azodi , I’m not sure if you have received this request a lot , but Please I would love to learn hidden techniques used in the song “Hala Hala - Ateez”. It’s a really strange sound they used in the drop , and I’ve spent quite a bit of time trying to replicate the lead/pluck in the drop.
can you please react to Oh My Girl's "Remember Me" that song is an interesting one. I would love to hear your reactions to it and also learn more about music production from you. ☺️
although I listen to this song regularly after the release, I appreciate it more because there some instrument i didnt notice before hearing your reaction
It is a good and innovative song no doubt! No idea about it changing the air in Kpop as we don’t decide, the internet / market decides right! Interesting thought tho!!
i would say that the Pre-chorus is always more of a climax for me than the Chorus. i would put most Choruses as the least interesting parts of the song *until they finally add the ad libs*. The most important part of the songs is the bridge. You can't go wrong with an IU type bridge, so i'm pretty happy with that current trend.
@@AZODi That's probably true since i tend to dabble with instruments and listen to a wide range of music as well. i started with drums and after 2000 i picked up some random parts with guitar and bass.
Very nice breakdown of this great song. After seeing this video, I am now curious as to what you would say about the Dreamcatcher song, "Deja Vu". It would be great if you decided to give Dreamcatcher a go, as they are a unique sound among K-pop girl groups, being more Rock-oriented. "Deja Vu" is less heavy sounding than their earlier stuff, but still different than the usual K-pop.

@@MusicalWizardryMarcoIannello yeah for sure, i am a big fan of layering sounds haha ive only really dived deep into albion so i cant say for the other string libraries. sounds like you know your string techniques! essential for composers tho right? :P haha
@@AZODi I banged my face really hard on the "realistic sounding strings" wall, that may be the reason as to why I know a thing or two about that subject 😅
@@MusicalWizardryMarcoIannello haha
great video! always great to see music producer reacting and breaking down the song composition. maybe next time you can try to react to more "indie" kpop, like sumin, sooyoon, crush etc. thanks!
thanks i appreciate it! i did a video on ONF who aren't exactly K-Indie but their fans feel that they should be getting more attention and coverage, might be worth checking out? K-Indie is a good shout ofc!!
Tbh, i only watch joey nato's music producer reacts coz i'm amazed on how he seems to hear every little detail of a song. But boy, u made me impressed 👏🏻
I love how u disect the song part by part. It is very hard to find an informative music reaction video these days coz some are just talking non sense, screaming, and focusing on how the artists look. Good job, u've earned my subscription lmao 🤣
thanks Yoo, i really appreciate it! haha i know what you mean, i try to avoid that as that isn't my vibe lol i rather give you as much information as possible during each video! haha thanks i appreciate your sub!
@@AZODi more power to u, sir 😊 im looking forward on u reacting on Mamamoo and more of TWICE and Exo songs 🙂
Yoo Janggoo great! I’ve done them all on this channel especially TWICE, did you see them? Check out my year in Kpop video if you wanna know a bit more about my Kpop stuff too!! Thanks again!!
Thank you for the constant stream of content, keep it up! Watching your reaction videos made me learn how to appreciate the technicalities of the song which is unlike before where I just appreciate based on how catchy it is.
Oh and I suggest you listen and possibly react to Golden Child - WANNABE
thanks Ryouijin
i appreciate it! im happy to hear that, glad the video provided some more info about the song for you! i wanna try and do different videos in this style but with more info, reacting is cool but i cant dig really deep into the song! thanks i will have to give the song a listen!! thanks again :)
I can't wait to hear your take on Answer, the new comeback from Ateez! Keep making great videos, I watch them all!
Thanks red I appreciate your comment and happy you watch the other videos, appreciate your support!! I need to do another Ateez for sure :)
Happy New Year Azodi! I didn't know what pizzicato meant so learning all the time! Going to watch this one again to pick up on more of the video editing! Great stuff!
Loren's London thanks Loren! Happy new year too! Thanks for watching it I’m glad you learned some cool stuff!
WE APPRECIATE PROFESSIONALISM,
haha thank yoooooooou!!!
interesting explanation 👍
Buffaylo thanks buffaylo!!
Would like it if you edit in the sounds when you talk about the specific parts of the songs so we can understand it better like what react to the k channel does. Thank you for the awesome reaction.
Thx

I just found your channel and am really appreciating your deep dive into production of kpop songs. If you could, I'm really interested in hearing your opinion on Chungha. She's an amazing solo artist and her songs Gotta Go and Snapping are amazing. Gotta Go has this flute like sound in the back that's amazing and the two part chorus is killer. I'd definitely love your opinion please! New sub btw.
thanks RC! i havent heard much of her but i should! did u watch my interview with Anna Timgren? She wrote one of Chungha's songs! thanks again appreciate your comment!
@@AZODi what? No! I'll check it out today then! Thanx for your reply!
R C great!! Hope you find the interview interesting!!
Tried out PanCake and it really makes things easier! Thanks for the recommendation and feel free to suggest more useful plug-ins hahaha
lol no prob tk! i use it on a lot of stuff! im sure i'll plug some more in the future!! thanks for your comment!!
in the mv uploaded, you can hear synths on the chorus while on streaming/music platforms, there isn't. did u noticed that?
I didn’t know that but someone mentioned it earlier today in my discord! I’ll have to give the audio only version a listen!
nice video man
thanks puri!! :)
Cool thanks Ash! dont think ive had that song much, def had a lot of Ateez requests tho! ive done one ateez video, will do more for sure!
I think you need to check out WINNER SOSO
cool thanks for the recommendation yoon!
can you please react to Oh My Girl's "Remember Me" that song is an interesting one. I would love to hear your reactions to it and also learn more about music production from you. ☺️
thanks ryan! i like a few of their songs, dont know that one tho, will check it out! glad you found the video interesting!!

although I listen to this song regularly after the release, I appreciate it more because there some instrument i didnt notice before hearing your reaction
Thanks adli!! I appreciate it and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Do you guys think this kind of song and it's huge (and quite unexpected i dare say) success might bring a fresh air into k-pop?
It is a good and innovative song no doubt! No idea about it changing the air in Kpop as we don’t decide, the internet / market decides right! Interesting thought tho!!
I love your videos, you should definitely react to clc and (g)i-dle!
If there is brass in here.....I'm an astronaut
Lol being an astronaut would be cool
i would say that the Pre-chorus is always more of a climax for me than the Chorus. i would put most Choruses as the least interesting parts of the song *until they finally add the ad libs*. The most important part of the songs is the bridge.
You can't go wrong with an IU type bridge, so i'm pretty happy with that current trend.
oh thats interesting to read! sounds like you listen to music differently from the majority :)
@@AZODi That's probably true since i tend to dabble with instruments and listen to a wide range of music as well.
i started with drums and after 2000 i picked up some random parts with guitar and bass.
can you react to Jinsang - solitude (full album)
アイダムファリス thanks!! I’ll give it a listen, thanks for your comment 😊😊
AZODi 😁😁👌🏽
This is the content I've been searching for 😭 Can you do a reaction to iKON's "Goodbye Road"?

React to Thumbs up by Momoland please!
thanks 2bear! ill give it a listen!
Thanks Rip!! Nice I think I’ve heard before but I’ll give it a listen!!
@@AZODi Thanks for the quick reply.
Hope you enjoy the uniqueness that is Dreamcatcher.
Great review as always! It’s just such a shame that the MV song is different from the Spotify and iTunes versions :( the bass isn’t as prominent and the strings are cut (both my favourite parts of the MV version)
kylepop thanks Kyle glad you enjoyed the video!! Yeah I heard about that, the mix is different right? Some elements missing?? Never heard that happening before, a MV mix separate to an Audio mix!!
AZODi I know right? It’s really strange... normally I’d think it’s pretty cool but in this case the MV mix is far superior 😩 which is a shame!
You are so handsome bro you got that Keanu Reeves shit on your face
haha thanks dude appreciate it! the keanu comparison has come up a few times after starting this youtube channel!! 😂
Hey Azodi, can you react to Dreamcatcher's Dejavu please? :D
Olivia hey Olivia! Haven’t listened to it, will give it a go!

thanks bebe, need to do more everglow for sure! did you see my other EG video? might be interesting for you!
Fun fact. On streaming sites like Spotify, there is less synths and orchestra.
yeah i heard about that! crazy!
Hmmm, listen to it again....I think you missed a little a lot...😁😉
For which kpop group does he produce though?
Hey N! No cuts yet! My songs are always being pitched and I have a few holds with the record labels, fingers crossed for a cut soon!!
Please react to Exo sabor Ami song of spanish

Hi. I am new here. I've seen a couple of your reactions and I like how u explain the music (producer) aspect of the song. I am so curious and would love to know your take on #EXO's #KoKoBop.
I hope u take this into consideration. Thanks mate!

It sucks that the album version (which is also the one on Spotify) doesn't sound as epic as the MV version
2NE1 and Bigbang are older kpop groups, and they aren’t really making songs anymore, but they were (are) the kings and queens of the kpop world, please react to their songs!
here are some suggestions:
