I went from the I.T. world to the R.F. world. My nightmares went from "My backup failed to holy crap I'm off the air " It's about taking responsibility and having ownership for your job! My best story was it was Sunday morning and all my friends are at the transmitter site, and we are playing football under the tower. I had a portable Sony TV on top of my car and The barbecue is getting started. This is before cell phones and the external bell on the transmitter building is ringing. It was the studio calling to say we were off the air. Nope can't be according to my Sony. "Exciter power " Good thing the chief eng and the owner were there playing football.

DOH!! I was warned about that early in my career. Oh man, that's crazy. But I bet it was great up until that phone call!!
