I was there in left field. I didn't realize it was Duncan's first until watching this again. I disagree about the stadium being boring. It was a typical 80s era design but the arches along the top gave it a unique, and fitting, look. It was hot as hell in the middle of summer in there though. Great pitching staff in 2005.
I was born in 83 I went to many games in the old stadium. I still remember my first time going with my dad on a Saturday afternoon game. I still remember the amazing feeling first walking out and seeing what I always seen on tv. Memories I will never forget. I had to hold back tears watching the wrecking ball strike the top of the ring. Last of the cookie cutter stadiums.
I'm so glad I was young enough to come to this stadium before it was passed on to the great number 3. I'm only 26, and I barely remember my time there, but I'm glad I got to enjoy this classic stadium.
I was at this game with my mom, uncle, and grandpa. I still remember the reds hit back to back to back home runs and Chris Duncan hit the final home run. RIP Chris.
While improved after 1995, it was still an old boring stadium with nothing unique about it. I don’t miss it. I do agree that losing Reyes was a bug loss in the bullpen as he was brilliant that year.
Thanks for the memories.
