You’re absolutely right. “Quiet luxury” is just a trending term for classic, timeless, polished and even “preppy”. Styles that some of us have been wearing forever. If anything, the “new” twist is the absence of logos: the thought being that if you have money you don’t need to shout about it. A good thing in my estimation.
I personally LOVE Loafers! The regular style AND the Chunky Platform style! That being said: I don't like the Platform to be very high nor the chunk being too chunky. But I am partial to the Dark Academia style of dress. So that includes Loafers, Oxfords, Brogues. My other favorite styles are: Old Money, Preppy Coastal Grandma. (I am 56 but look younger imho). Btw: my favorite color is Gray! So I frequently wear dark gray tops and bottoms, too.
I have a pair of the free people barrel jeans and they’re absolutely my favourite jeans Haha, to each their own I guess. I do understand how they wouldn’t be for everyone. Great video.
I love loafers with a little platform. But the platform can't be too thick because I want my shoes to bend. I agree that dad sneakers are fugly. Especially on petite gals, they look too huge.
Suits will broken up and worn in differnt ways. Jackets with long shorts and jeans. Sneakers will also return in a big way. I'm all in. I love wearing my black pinstripe suit jacket with my relaxed 501 long denim shorts and a pale blue shirt that has a pintuck front. Snow, snow, go away!!!
I would skip the lemon yellow. Its a trend that wont last long anyway, mainly because the color doesnt flatter most women! Personally, I hate the chunky platforms. I call them Frankenstein shoes! 😅😂😢
I’m not sure how the butter yellow would work with your skin tone. It seems your skin tone might have yellow undertones, but I think it would look all right and some shades. It probably definitely would not look good on a very pale person like a redhead, for example, with pale skin.
I agree with the mini skirts and dresses being way to short lately. I was walking in the mall in florida, and saw a girl in a mini, who's butt was showing at the bottom. She didn't look good, she didn't look hot... Its wasn't a good look at all. Love a velour two piece track suit. (may not be popular) but so easy to wear and so comfy. Love riding boots but hate loafers and chunky block shoes. Love classic. Great video today ! 🙂
I love barrel jeans. They look fab on woman. I also love wide leg jeans. Love the chunky New Balance trainers. I'm not into big hair bows but i do like the thinner hair ribbons that you tie around the hair. I don't like mini skirts with riding boots. The look of the riding boot looks flappy and gappy under the knee. Not a good look. If i was into mini skirts, I'd wear over the knee boots or below the knee boots in that soft stretchy material that clings to the shape of your legs. More flattering i think. I also love to embrace everyones choice of style.
I don’t like those barrel/balloon shaped jeans 🤮 They look so hick! 😅 I will continue to wear my classic, polished, chic style. I have zero interest in the ugly trends 😊
It helps if the brand uses good quality fabrics to enhance the styles. You can have a pleasing classic and minimal style but if the fabric is a hodgepodge of semisynthetic, then it’s lackluster. Pilling makes the style look cheap. And poor quality sewing is a style killer.
I am a walker. I honestly don’t care how sneakers look on me, as long as they support my feet and legs and help me walk long distances for health and fitness. I will, however, wear a lower profile shoe for just errands or going out with jeans.
I hate the chunky heel shoes! I have not seen them styled with anything that looks good. Maybe teens can wear them but after that age range-no! Don't like the barrel jeans either. Last but not least, I would avoid the yellow if I were you. I think it will wash you out completely and you dont want that.
Invest an a genuine leather riding boot. They are not a trend but a timeless and beautiful classic well worth the investment. Good idea to try first with a lower cost boot. I hate barrel jeans. They’re awful. As for the old money look you are right. You either dress classy or not. Love your videos.
I love most of these. I do not like barrel jeans or micro minis. On some people they may look great but not on me. I did see in another video on upcoming trends the return of capri pants. I hope not! It does not flatter most people and looks frumpy. They are a great alternative to shorts for some people but for going out on and looking stylish it is a No!
I absolutely love barrel jeans. I'm 5 ft tall and they look amazing. Barrel jeans are a definite fashion piece for 2024 new and different. Give them a chance, totally stylish. Not boring.
I absolutely love barrel jeans! They are very flattering to my body type! And can be styled to look so sophisticated and edgy. I wouldn’t rule them out overall some body types look really good in them and when they do….and style correctly , they are adorable!
Yeah, I'm with you! Do I look like chonky hobbit in them as they are not "traditionally flattering"? Maybe to some lol! But I feel super stylish in them.
I love them too! The ones she pictured had the "ballooning" too far down the leg. The ones I have (from Old Navy) balloon higher up at the thigh, so they make my waist and hips look tiny. Super comfortable to wear, too!
Ok.. I'm 75 with both artificial hips. I rock Sketchers with the built in shoe horn.😊 I wear vintage, classic outfits. Have loved fashion all my life.
Could not agree more with the barrel jeans!! I have not seen one person that looks good in them. Not one!

Agree 💯..esp the balloon jeans!
Nice video hun💙💙💙
I love my adidas sambas so comfy. I do not like the barrel jeans. I love loafers but not too chunky. ❤
I just discovered Tommy Hilfiger boots. Love the basic, well made styles. Wish they had a wider selection of sizes though.
I definitely agree with you Elana you are on point. Thank you for sharing .

I LOVE loafers, and am so happy to see them back in style. I have bought traditional looks, lug soles and platforms, and love them all.

I’m wondering if it’ll look better with a summer tan on me 🙈 maybe I’ll give it a go!
I love ❤️ riding boots I hsve several pairs and I love ❤️ butter yellow for summrr

My pleasure!☺️
Riding boots are classic. Splurge on these! No yellow anything for me. It makes me look ill. 🤒
It is on my wishlist now!!🥰🤭

Gray has been my main color for 4 years because my husky’s hair can’t be seen on my clothes.
hahaha omg I love this 😂🙌🏻

I have the same opinion that you 😁
Do you know that you are a dark winter or is it just instinctual for you?
Instinctual :) I’ve never taken any color analysis test!
Yes, I agree with you on pretty much everything!
No on the chunky platform for me.
I totally like your style. My taste. First time watching you. Subscribed. I’m 51.
Awhh yayy!! Welcome!!🥰❤️
My first time watching too and I like her style and personality as well. Laughed so hard when she said-save those shoes for the "gramps".
I absolutely love barrel jeans! They are very flattering to my body type! And can be styled to look so sophisticated and edgy. I wouldn’t rule them out overall some body types look really good in them and when they do….and style correctly , they are adorable!

@@niki_bbb and how you ‘feel’ in them affects how you carry yourself and that’s half of it!
I just love them!
Yeah I love barrel jeans too!

I love ❤️ barrel Jens super comfy and looks good even with high heels 👠
