At 13:12 the kick by Honor Blackman to stuntman Jackie Pallo was the real thing and landed squarely on his head. That was a big mistake. It was supposed to look like a kick but the way it had been rehearsed, Honor Blackman would have just shoved Jackie backwards with the heel of her shoe. Honor Blackman said it was late in the evening and filming had going on all day, she was exhausted and made a mistake. Even though Mr. Pallo was able to finish the last ten seconds of the scene, when he fell backwards into the fake grave, he was unconscious and remained so for almost eight minutes. I've seen the unedited version which continued filming for about 30 seconds after the scene ended. When Honor Blackman walked over to the fake grave she knew she had landed a heavy blow and wanted to see how badly hurt Mr. Pallo was. She called to the crew and several people came running over, and then the film ended.
The fighting style sometimes seen used by Tara King is actually Japanese Judo (Tomoe nage)..........this can be seen in several episodes where she raises one leg onto the stomach of an opponent, then rolls back falling to the ground, and flips the person over her body!
Tara King was mean in a fight and the fight where she takes on the British karate champion Captain Tim is awesome, definitely a mixture of judo and karate. An old martial arts expert told me that for all karate could be very useful in a fight, a judo throw would be even more devastating than a karate strike.
In the color episodes, Diana Rigg and Linda Thorson were doubled by stuntwoman Cyd Child who was a European women's Judo champion. (She also was a photographic reference model for the Modesty Blaise comic series.) Cyd was also the fight arranger for several episodes of The New Avengers, and she doubled in some episodes for Joanna Lumley.
Exact. Rip.
So glad Ian left otherwise we the world wouldn't have seen the like from the ladies. I know people preferred Diana but mine was Linda coz she didnt knew martial arts and used what she had eg handbags etc ti fight with. Like a normal girl
Diana riggs said it looks like that because she said she was lazy .she didn't want to put alot of work into the stunts .Linda did make it more realistic
This was a time that a woman never lost a fight. Either she won or a man came to her rescue. Unlike Mrs Peel Tara would lose a fight or two.The only man Mrs Peel lost to was Steed. When she was under mind control and was ordered to kill Steed
@@laapache1 Great stories, though, but Emma Peel's fighting style was mostly chopping movements with her hands and a few kicks. Tara King struck me as someone who would be far more dangerous in a fight as she knew judo AND karate and knew where to strike to cause most damage.
AWESOME. Always loved Mrs. Gale, Mrs. Peel and Ms. King.
And Purdey from the New Avengers was a combination of all 3!
@@jeffsullivan2044 You are so absolutely correct.
What a brilliant tribute! Those Ladies could kick some ass!!
Great to see Ingrid Hafner in this tribute as Carol Wilson, assistant to Dr David Keel and hands on as you can see, she was the first Avengers girl.
What a great show
Two of the villains looked like a young Donald Southerland and Christopher Lee

Bond, The Saint, The Avengers et The persuaders sont des rixes qui mixte le judo 🥋 et la boxe 🥊. Parfois du karaté 🥋.

Funny to see that the fights were looking so fake When Diana Rigg was inside the series. When Linda's in, it gets more realistic !

Yes agree. Hence why I preferred and loved Tara King. Way more realistic. And underrated character and actress too
nice. very nice thank you

As a child I liked it; Looking back, the scenes are pretty bad 😄

Fake-fight
Everything on the screen is fake and staged. From chuck norris to James bond. Eh oui monsieur.
Well done a cyd child
