Referring to Matt's comment around 12:15: My definition of growing up is learning how to lay without hurting anyone. Because play is just as important as an adult as it is a child, perhaps more so due to the weight of things we need to deal with. (Of course, some children have to deal with heavy, complicated things too.) I started back in the late 70s and unfortunately at that time, and for many years to come, I had to basically hide the fact that I was playing RPGs or face some pretty serious push back from fellow kids and many adults. My own parents didn't really understand it, but I think they knew I (and my friends) were basically good kids, so they didn't freak out like some did. I am so glad that has changed.
Around 17 and 19 years old, role-playing helped my group of odd reject friends learn to work somewhat as a team instead of just insulting each other non stop (as some teens do). A friend you pick on or who is often shamed in the group, which was mostly me actually, can possibly reveal interesting sides of him/herself through the experiences/challenges the group is faced with.
Interesting perspectives you all bring to this conversation. One thing i feel you forget or miss, and it may be a GM thing, D & D is far more than even stepping into anothers shoes or experimenting with different personas or genders. At its core Table top roleplaying more than anything else is a shared journey through failure and success that reminds us that both of these aspects of life have great value. It reminds us that whatever the failure, if we live to see another day, there will be a new chance to grow, shine and move forward. For me, D & D is a constant reminder that no matter how dark the night or painful the journey, if you never give up, strive and survive you will see the new dawn.

This is great but you can tell that they cut a lot to get it down to 22 minutes, even just starts of thoughts and things. This is the internet, you don't have to make things TV length.
To those trying to shoehorn in the ideology of 'white privilege' in D&D, please learn what the ideology of 'white privilege' actually is. Having seven white people sit around a table is not evidence of WP, it is evidence of the privilege of being friends with Matt, Adam or Mark. If you're annoyed about there not being enough BAME representation around the table, then MAKE THAT TABLE. It is an utterly ridiculous fallacy to assume that anything in life has to have proportional representation for the sake of it. You sit at that table because you bring something TO THAT TABLE and TO THAT GAME other than just minority representation. It also does no-one any help to propagate the dangerous fallacy of equality of outcome. Everyone should have access to the the same opportunities but, by no means should they expect the same outcome. You sit at my table because you're fun, engaging, creative and not a dick. Not because you're a minority or because I need to fill quotas.
There's actually people saying Critical Role should recast multiple members next campaign because others deserve that platform. Or people bitter that their Kickstarter is succeeding and that that money could go to more "progressive" projects which aren't getting funded. I don't understand the "give me what you have" mentality when it's not in a gated industry. They built their success on a free to use platform and their success was given to them by their fans.
G&S, you have amazing ideas for content. But your over-produced, over cut stuff just makes you difficult to watch. If you're worried about runtime, make it a multi-part video. But when you cut things up this much and stitch them back together, all I can assume is that you cut the conversations to make these gentlemen say exactly what you wanted them to say. And unfortunately it is a running, common theme on every show I've seen on this channel. Let the shows stand on their own; you guys have amazing creative talent and ideas, and people will watch. But please stop trying to over-produce and over-cut everything.
The drinks totally reveal how massively this video has been sliced up and edited back together.

It's not Islam's fault that so many invoke it's name to do terrible things. They aren't the first faith someone co opted to scream "Deus Volt!" to justify imperialism or atrocity.
@DannyGirl Not all who murder do so out of fear. Many do so for profit.
Imagine all the little Percys that might exist.
yes its on youtube for us with no money
I thought the third guy was Griffin Mcelroy for a second and I was about to flip my shit!
Will there ever be a "Epic Battle Royal" of the DM's? This way those who DM can play their favorite Class/Race and see who is the BEST :)
Mercer is actually a very good player, but Colville is Evil-Matt and very tactical. Meanwhile Mark's British accent gives +1 to any conquest of overseas territories and +3 on any sea battle...
So... the Round Table logo looks a little familiar. Are they members of the Azorius Senate?
This title alone made my heart skip several beats!

I like to try and have access to a d20 as offten as posible, all I need to crack out a moment of fun action
Is this new? Or are these the same as the videos from Alpha from last year?
EDIT: I guess this is that old Alpha show.
it's definitely old. Adam mentions the most "recent" show on Rollplay is Nebula Jazz, and that one ended at least almost a year ago.
I feel like there really is a Six Degrees of Gygax with role playing.
yes! thats who you end a d&d talk.
A banner, a coin and a shield.
Is there some extended uneditted version of this? i mean now i need to see it dammit

Great discussion, but why is the music so intense?
Will be watching when I awake from my slumber. I guess my taxes can wait.
Dungeons and dragons forever!!!!!!
Amazing poeple.
I like this
Oh wow, this is available to the rest of us now, huh.
I can't take my eyes off those magic drinks.... one shot they are full the next they are empty....
This is great but you can tell that they cut a lot to get it down to 22 minutes, even just starts of thoughts and things. This is the internet, you don't have to make things TV length.
Alpha tried to use the TV model
Mark Hulmes saying high school feels like a betrayal of proper British heritage...
