Big shout out to Burger Motorsport for giving me a deal on there kit. Didn't even know a kit like this existed till I saw it on there website. Definitely a must buy if you don't have paddles and if you guys see a clean looking carbon wheel with paddles lmk I'm on the look out.

You need a different slip-ring! I didn't see you change the slip-ring for one compatible with paddle shifts. The original slip ring doesn't have the contacts to send the signal.
Does anyone know if you can swap the basic non paddle steering wheel to a steering wheel with paddles & have paddles work?

Question - after i retrofit them paddle shifters, can i perhaps get any of the modern paddles and change them? Will it work? Talking about them magnetic ones, or any just prettier looking ones? Thanks
How'd you try to upshift? If one paddle works, you should be able to go up and down. They both can shift up/down. They don't work where one side is up, one is down. You push to go down, pull to shift up.
@@peaceofmindserenity6041 Factory Steptronic shifters can shift up or down on either side… you can push either paddle forward or backward, for up and down. Don’t call people sausages on UA-cam when you’re one yourself.
There are 3 different styles of paddles for our cars and the multi function ones you mention have a standard click on the back of the blade to shift up on right and down on left.
I wanna put paddles on my 2008 e60 LCI 535xi , let me know if you find something that works great and visa versa , id love to use paddles on my xHP stage 3 transmission flash
hello after retrofit of a paddle wheel on 330d e90 from 2007 231cv this one works only in sport mode.
So when the paddle shifters are installed t does that take away the function of the steering wheel buttons?

Weird they don’t sell it with the adapter anymore so you have to remove and replace pins in the 12 pin connector under the clockspring

use his trim and should work, your trims harness was not made for paddle shifters

Nice, thanks for posting the video. I have to say, it's not too big a deal to do, but it's so much easier on MK5 Jettas to switch to a paddle shifter steering wheel. I will likely do this on my next E90 since it's become nearly impossible to get a manual these days, at least in the shape I want.

Nour, I sent a like your way. Good view of what you're doing and clear explanation. Please get yourself a trim removal tool/kit, don't teach bad habits by using a flathead on your nice car. They go for less than $10 at harbor freight or Amazon. You are guaranteed to use it again and save $$$ by not buying trim parts you'll break otherwise.

You should consider getting the X1 Steering wheel trim, makes your steering wheel more appealing
hey bro i got a 2011 bmw 335i with the m sport but i recently order a brand new steering wheel like your but it does not have paddle shifter or the slot for it when i install it in go for a drive my hand shifter for P-R-N-D i shift to D/S it does not work but when i intall the old wheel back on everything work fine is there a way i can by pass it or disconect any wire? thank

My question is that do you have to move the knob to the manual position in order to use the paddles or does it also work when the know is at D?
It will change gear with paddles in D when you click them but will switch back to auto unless you put it into manual.

looks like the bms harness is out of stock, if they dont restock i might just make my own, and sell some clones of it on ebay, all theyre doing is adding wire to the oem bmw connectors, anyone can do it, but i would rather just pay 100 to not have to deal with it

There’s nothing wrong with the paddle. The wire is broken you could’ve fixed the wire and you should’ve done two tests. Voltage drop and resistance and you wouldn’t have gotten through his much hassle

Lol guys the burger tuning harness does not work as described. It is not just plug and play as described.i hate when people use a product and it is not as described but they still give them credit and not call out the makers of the product and let them know that its false advertising. I know more than 15 people that have done the retro fit and harness was not plug and play as described.

I recently coded and retrofitted an m sport steering wheel with paddle shifters in an 2014 BMW f30 and upgraded to sport automatic transmission, the paddle shifters make a huuuuge difference for the driving experience. be careful on eBay, I got a stolen fake dual stage usa airbag along with my steering wheel from Europe, I was scammed too but found another airbag, file a claim with your credit card company if PayPal and eBay don't wanna help

Hello, my name is George and I own a 2011 BMW E90 LCI 335d with a Steptronic Automatic Transmission. I do not have the Sport or M-Sport Package so I don’t have the paddle shifters. My goal is to install a steering wheel with paddle shifters and I’m confused because there is a tun of options on the Paddle Shift Retrofit Harness page. What I would like to do is purchase a used full setup paddle shift M-Sport or M3 steering wheel removed from the same year car as my car. Dose it matter what BMW paddle shift Steering wheel I get if it’s from the same year car? If so I need guidance to make it an easy plug and play installation. I would like to avoid soldering anything if I can. I would like to install the Paddle shift steering wheel and Paddle Shift Retrofit Harness and the paddle shifters to work and call it a day. I also have found a steering wheel looks like it’s an LCI from a 2011. I can send the link for review. Looking forward to hearing from you

Yeah I just put mine together only to realise the paddles aren't working so I scrolled back through the instructions and it says you must buy those buttons. I'll be calling bmw about buying a set tomorrow

At this point I would have just upgraded to another car..I did the same when I had a CTS..Threw all kinds of money at it when I really wanted a CTS-V all along. Not hating at all..but just words of wisdom.

Luis Why replace the whole car when it's so easy to install the paddle shifters? Granted, it didn't work for him but that was due to faulty hardware. Provided the hardware worked, this would have been a pretty simple mod on a car he likes.
