Story: I remember one time. I was playing with my "HELP" Radio on my C-Dory on the lake. The boat has a cigarette lighter. Totally eighties (HELP radio), but this was in late nineties! There were like two girls talking on hand held (probably Cobra) radios having fun, on the lake having fun with radio. I broke in. I could really tell, I gave these two a total gas interrupting their FUN, or breaking in. Anyway, I promote this!
Yeah sometimes people think they have private coms. I did the same on PMR once whilst at a park site and a guy was talking to his wife from the local shop asking what biscuits she wanted. I broke in and recommended Rich Tea. All went quite after that.
retevis is notoriious for having ctcss already programed in. was this open to communicate with other radios ? if so i will get these for my construction sites. durable is a big plus. thx.
Definitely look good wonder how they perform. Those headphone jacks are pointless really. Once they go wrong that's the end of it and all that nasty interference in the headphones. Would've been really nice if it were Bluetooth enabled. Mind you you could use a Bluetooth adapter.

The fixed antenna rule was dropped years ago, removable antennas are allowed but the radio must not exceed 500mw ERP with that antenna.
Yeah people have said that but i checked Ofcom in the UK and could not see it changed so I am not sure ?

Hi. Yes you can just set the sub code to 00 and then the CTCSS is switch off and they are open.
