I've had simar experiences with Verizon and AT&T. I think Verizon and AT&T spend similar amounts of money on their towers, but AT&T puts more of them closer together whereas Verizon spreads them out more. Great video.

Verizon seems to work best for us in rural areas

Excellent...and yes, it does feel like I'm supposed to assembly a jig saw puzzle while partially blindfolded. One wish/suggestion: I've never seen you address access while visiting our northern neighbor, CANADA. Now that the border is open(ing) in both directions - and given Canada's weak and expensive networks - it would seem a general overview of access in Canada would be very timely and helpful.

It depends where you live. I personally love Verizon. AT&T is ok. T Mobile great in the metro area but leave the metro becomes less reliable.

cConsumer Cellular piggybacks on AT&T, but their as-delivered connection is second tier. Verizon was great (when I had a company phone)

So right your location is key. Had TMobile for 20 plus years and switched to Verizon. OMG Verizon is the worst at my house Tmobile was almost 200mb with Verizon getting around 6mb right now. I feel like we made a big mistake moving to Verizon.

depends on plan get more or start plan? also postpaid Hotspot plans have all data allotments with priority data equalling that data allotment. also you can upgrade your plan or downgrade whenever you want.

Just a suggestion. At an occasional comment that this is also relevant to rural internet needs as well.

While there is definitely some overlap - our focus is mobile for RVers and cruisers, which has some distinct differences. Such as... for rural, your best carrier is much more obvious. The one that works best at your location.

Great comparison, but getting past single carriers with the most LTE coverage, what combination of 2 carriers has the most area covered?

Most likely AT&T and Verizon combined give the best coverage map - but really depends on your travel plans, gear and data needs.

It’s a shame that AT&T does not offer an unlimited data plan when using a Winegard product (comes installed on most new RV’s). The Winegard becomes useless except for a TV antenna. AT&T tells me I have to buy a mobile hotspot device! So what’s the point of the Winegard.

    • @MobileInternetResourceCenter

You should be able to get their 100GB prepaid plan working on it.

@@MobileInternetResourceCenter been on the phone all morning with AT&T and they transferred me to Winegard technical support who told me that us RV'ers are out of luck (unless you want a limited plan). Only option is to bypass Winegard 4G (all they offer, not 5G), and purchase a hotspot device like Nighthawk, Netgear, etc. BIX Wireless offers an unlimited plan (500gb) for $150/month; still seems expensive.

We live in Missouri. What would you suggest within our state for a Hotspot Carrier? We have AT&T for our phone service with “unlimited”. Also, which hotspot device or router do you suggest? We are weekend warriors within the state.

Missouri is a big state and a lot of variables - you'll want to look at what is best for the specific spots you want to go. You have a lot of questions here so would recommend heading over to our collection of resources for setting up for cellular: www.rvmobileinternet.com/cellular-resources. If you're one of our members, please do follow up with questions in our forums so our team can further assist.

@@MobileInternetResourceCenter Att is already selectively temporarily disabling cellular connections to move folks over to updated 5g devices. One of my grandfathered prepaid plans was disabled and required me to contact them to have a new (free) device sent. Then they reactivated my line until the device is delivered. Seems like they have a good advanced roll out plan for the 3g shutdown.

Please do a review of NOMAD and how horrible it is to use. They set you up, the speeds are slow, trying to disconnect from service has proven to be difficult. Try calling their phone, they don’t answer nor do they provide a answering service. Everything must be done through chat on their site or through email. They keep billing after you ask to cancel. NOMAD IS BAD.
