for everyone wondering when you actually use titaniu. The main usage of titanium ALLOYS is in all places where you need high biocompatibility (ex. screen in bones etc) that means that it can't hurt the user (in opossition to other alloys like steel), it is also very light for it's strenght so titanium alloys were (or still are) used in planes (although mangesium and alluminium alloys are more popular at the moment), it is also highly resistant to corrosion so if you need light material with high corrosion resistance it will be much better than mangesium and alluminium alloys (you can also use titanium, or titanium compound as coating), and lastly TiO2 is known also as titanium white and is really good white dye, also safe to use in food

Finland isn't Scandinavian, but rather Nordic. Scandinavia is Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Nordic countries are Scandinavia plus Greenland, Iceland, Finland, and maybe the Faroes. Particularly broad definitions may include Estonia, but Estonia is not normally considered Nordic.
I like where his wife laughed, that made me smile for some reason. A very entertaining video, the biggest surprise was the copper as we’re used to it in malleable dimensions. I’ve never seen this channel before and I’m really glad this came up in my recommendations. I'm now off to watch some more from the channel.
If i'm not mistaken a hardened metal have more resistance to compression but when it fails its a catastrophic failure. It doesn't bend it shatters like glass.
Vitor Leão Yeah typically tougher metals (titanium, tungsten carbide, high-carbon steel) will shatter and crack at high stresses rather than bend. It really is just because they loose their elasticity when they are that hard. Paradoxically some really strong metal alloys can simply be broke by dropping them on the floor.
@saleh shiplu Titanium is the most biocompatible metal too. And a little sidenote: When grinding titanium, it sparks white. Like, ultra-white! It's dangerous for your eyes of course but not many other metals spark in white and I think white sparks is really cool!
Also Raycon: "I'm a shitty Chinese wireless earbud with a ton of marketing money and a couple stupid celebrities behind me." Go on Amazon and filter your results and you can find a pair of wireless earbuds for $20 that are better than that garbage.

I was thinking the same thing but more as an art/souvenir. Stack the disks by diameter, and either give it 110T or just go until it is a shape you (they) like. I wouldn't recommend stacking the cubes, too much chance of them deforming off center and going projectile. (But some people watch NASCAR for the crashes.)
Your aluminum cube was extremely valuable at one time. The very tip-top of the Washington Monument in Washington DC is a pyramidal block of aluminum which was more valuable than gold when it was installed.
Six or Seven years ago I stayed at a Motel-6 when I went to see the Tournament of Roses parade. That mattress was really hard. You should put a Motel-6 mattress on the hydraulic press.

Yes, it should be 110 Tonnes..
NB, To all the Joes Schmoe out there, there is no such thing as a "metric ton", just as there isn't a "metric gallon"
A "Tonne" is a different unit, just with a similar name. lol.. 2204.62lb not 2000lb
@@kadmow en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonne
Wikipedia mentions it as a metric, but NON-SI unit.
That being said, I do prefer SI prefixes. Kilo, mega, giga, and so on
Titanium is almost as strong as steel, while being almost as light as aluminum. It is a good compromise
Yes IRON, (Fe) is pretty soft and weak..
There are steels which are a lot stronger than Ti Alloys, but also heavier (but cheaper)
Compromises all over.
Tough not strong, Iron is strong.
What steel? ^^
Not even close to as strong as steel. Steel easily wins by almost double per unit volume. Of course, titanium is stronger when weight is important.
@@brandonn6099 what sort of steel though? 🙈
It's like saying "my hand is bigger than a fish". 😅

This is probably my favorite hydraulic press video. Others are like "wHAT HapPEN whEn WAteRmelOn is SQUISh???" But this one actually seems interesting. I never learned about how metals compare to each other besides on the periodic table. This demonstration makes me curious about how different shapes/angles and sizes would compare to each other.
The lesson here is:
Hard Steel destroy them all.
No titanium wasnt destroyed completely

@@alsharefee probably because there was over 100,000KG of force behind it he could of used feathers instead of steel and it still would of crushed it
You guys have had this channel for a long time and have put a lot of work into it. I'm actually glad to see that you are getting some sponsors.
Common people: Oh, any metal is strong.
Hydralic Press: Oh 100 tons and its like play-doh..
Hyvääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääääää!
Can you possibly try Nickel, Chrome and Tungsten ? I'd love to see these 3 metals tested.
Scandinavians speak English in a way that makes the world seem happy and pleasant.
hëllö
I'm not sure if finns consider themselves Scandinavians.
bröther, welcöme to scändinavia
Finland isn't Scandinavian, but rather Nordic.
Scandinavia is Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
Nordic countries are Scandinavia plus Greenland, Iceland, Finland, and maybe the Faroes. Particularly broad definitions may include Estonia, but Estonia is not normally considered Nordic.
Bring in the indian accent for comic relief. 😁
I like where his wife laughed, that made me smile for some reason. A very entertaining video, the biggest surprise was the copper as we’re used to it in malleable dimensions. I’ve never seen this channel before and I’m really glad this came up in my recommendations. I'm now off to watch some more from the channel.
Cool
"Issa allmost lyka blayyydoo"...I love this channel...
Titanium is built to bend, and this is actually very insightful about how flexible but resistant the metal alloy really is, thanks!
The titanium he used isn't an alloy, it's pure mineral. An alloy is a mixture of metals.
Sounds like a scientist from a movie, planning to take over the world.

This was so satisfying, everything you press is great but this is one of my favorites.
I thought he is going to hydraulic press that earphone
Abhay Shanker that would be great!
Perhaps it's fair to assume that his sponsorship would be rescinded had he done that.
Exactly man. You know what happens if you hit two hammers together? Don't ever do it. Hard often equals very brittle
I had a titanium slip-on muffler on my motorcycle, you could put your hand on it at running temp. it was so cool.
This is one of many reason why I love Titanium. It's just such an incredible metal element
@saleh shiplu Titanium is the most biocompatible metal too.
And a little sidenote: When grinding titanium, it sparks white. Like, ultra-white! It's dangerous for your eyes of course but not many other metals spark in white and I think white sparks is really cool!

I would like to see how they perform when stacked over each other and pressed together

Six or Seven years ago I stayed at a Motel-6 when I went to see the Tournament of Roses parade. That mattress was really hard. You should put a Motel-6 mattress on the hydraulic press.
