I Binged up to Episode 9... I want to savior it a few days until I finish it and this is why i'm watching interviews to pass the time! Incredible Show, by far #1.
IronViking as a gigantic Karate Kid fan I loved it. My wife, who is not a Karate Kid fan and a little bit younger, born late 80s, she absolutely loved it. Which is a testament to how good it actually is. I cannot wait for season 2. Also the marketing eith UA-cam red was genius . I guarantee something along the lines of 1.5 minimum new subscribers to UA-cam red this week as a direct result of Cobra Kai.
Johnny needs some of the lessons Daniel has learned from Miyagi. Johnny needs balance in his life just as much or more than his son does. Daniel needs some of the lessons learned in Cobra Kai. In other words they both need a little bit of each other's form of karate and life. In the end they need to mold them together to form some sort of balance that can be taught to these new students. I can see in the future Johnny with Daniel's help forming a merged new dojo in a nice, big stand alone building all of their own. (Maybe even the LaRusso Auto building). Teaching the way of the fist but with balance. :)
Dark Coven I almost think Kreese can be taken in the same direction of Johnny. He himself was a victim in a way. Remember he was a Vietnam Vet. His "Strike First, strike hard, no mercy" could have very well come of that. Think about it he probably was initially restrained but had to see a lot of good friends gunned down. How would that change your outlook? He was traumatized and made up his mind to do his best to not let that happen. He went too far with Cobra Kai though. I'm not justifying the treatment of his students and their opponents.
private private 100% agree! The writing and story telling are hands down the best I've seen for a "TV series"! If you look at the comments for each episode and interviews we are not alone! The feedback and comments are all positive and incredible! Can't wait for the next season!
Yeah, and it seems like kids that have never seen the originals could go back to watch them from it, and maybe even would cheer for Johnny in the final fight, lol
Season was was a bit predictable at times but it was still awesome and i can't wait for the next one. I really want Elisabeth Shue to agree to do a couple episodes.
Honestly, I think all tv has sucked for decades. The only thing after Married W/Children I watched was Seinfeld and Law & Order. This show is already top 10 I have ever seen. The writing is awesome. Only time I watch tv now is hockey and my Dallas Cowboys games and shows off ME TV kind of Networks, reruns from great shows of the past.
FUNKYSPECTRUM Your always gonna get your Sopranos and Breaking Bad tribe who generally prefer darker programming that will attempt to dismantle its popularity with rethoric of how its cheese and over simplistic, especially those who would have loved to kick Daniel LaRusso in the balls. But they''ll only ever be able to clutch at straws because its an undeniably brilliantly crafted show.
As a humongous fan of karate kid I was pissed they were doing this series. I really was. I can say after watching it I was BLOWN away by it. They completely did the movie justice and made an incredible story line of old and new characters. Amazing.
I went in expecting a couple smiles from nostalgia but what i got was an amazing full package show that delivered on every level. A must see, worth the sub to youtube red

Yup less scenes of the formal training but he needed to motivate them into the program. The original movie had Cobra Kai just throwing punches in their dojo. Kreese will likely show the more physical training in next season. If they let Kreese take over the dojo for a few episodes.

My favorite exchange of quotes was the stand down to the big fight that wasn't. "You want to come in?" "I could eat." This is a show about two guys in their 50s reliving a high school rivalry. The dialog has to include that 50-year-old perspective. It can't be overly dramatic - like 'sweep the leg.' It has to have a touch of humor. For instance, my favorite action scene was Johnny groaning in pain after that first kick outside the minimart. You knew right away that he hasn't done this in a while.
Yes, that was a great Easter Egg. In the original movie, Tommy was the one giggling like a madman and shouting the immortal “Put him in a body bag, yeaaaah!” line in the tournament. Maybe he did have brain damage!
Best series out right now, it really was a game changer for UA-cam Red, but now they have to find a way to keep the new subscribers they got from Cobra Kai. Great interview as well, Jenny McCarthy was a great host with great questions and very knowledgeable and respectful to the guests and subjects! Not to mention she was my 90’s dream girl!!!

Initially I was as excited as anyone when I saw Kreese, but now am thinking that was probably a mistake. I feel like we're watching Fonzi thinking about maybe trying to jump over that shark.
Ralph Macchio is one of the best actors ever. Even in his audition tape for The Karate Kid, he's unbelievably natural. Not like he's reading a script at all. It's something you realize and appreciate when older.
Zurround100 They are clueless. Maybe it's just beyond their understanding. Even now he's the best. The younger members of the cast are like soap actors.
First episode, when Johnny was drinking sitting on couch watching late cos movie, I was tearing up coz I felt like Johnny was feeling THEN I laughed when Danny's ad popped up on the TV. Just....brilliant xo
William Wolcott I agree. Can't stand those people who ask a question but never listen to the answer and create a dialogue. You know, NORMAL conversation. Some guy up on UA-cam does an awful job. Forgot his name, big surprise.. Lol. Go Jenny.
I’ve never seen Jenny McCarthy conduct an interview before. But wow is she so good at it. She’s so natural at it. It doesn’t hurt that she’s so pleasant on the eyes!
The only thing i disliked was Daniel’s son, he had no real purpose in the series at all, his comedic relief was even awful but lets see where his character goes
Part of me liked the character because it showed the flaws in Daniel. By the time, kid #2 could have used some one on one father time, the home dojo had become a storage catchall. Daniel had lost his balance and focus and his son suffered from that neglect I think.
I think he played the part of most kids today his face was always on a tablet or on the phone and Daniel is trying to make him enjoy life without that , maybe season 2 he will get him up and out.
Loved it!! brought back memories and the look into Johnny gave you such a better understanding of his character. I rooted for him the whole show. Great job best I have seen in a long time.
Watched all 10 episodes today. It was good. It was campy. It was funny. It was contrived. It tried to jump a shark or two. But there was a lot of heart and they did a good job fleshing out Johnny's backstory and made him a sympathetic figure.
I LOVE THE ONE JOHNNY TELLING THE STORY ABOUT HIM AND ALI. AND HOW DANIEL CAME TO HIS LIFE. AND MIGUEL CALLING LARUSSO ASSHOLE. HAHAHA! DANIEL IS THE REAL BULLY!
I saw Karate Kid in theatre as a kid in 1984, this show has totally brought back that same feel as I experienced from the movie. Hell I am even searching Karate for over 40 to get back into Karate once again !
I binged the f___ out of it this weekend... Watched the entire 2nd season and it was AWESOME!! They did an incredible job and I can't wait for season 3!!!!
You really do get a sense that there's something special with Cobra Kai. Can't put my finger on it, everything did come together: The writing, the on-screen chemistry, the new cast, the music, the sort of macho 80's hair-metal nostalgia represented by Johnny Lawrence's fish out of water character. It's like he was frozen in a time capsule in 1984 and he woke up to a world full of internet memes and safe spaces. This is my favorite new show since Barry.
I am actually shocked at her abilities as an interviewer. She’s great. You can also tell that she was a fan of this franchise and was WOWED by “Cobra Kai” and how they didn’t completely destroy it for money, giving it their full 100%.
4 роки тому+2
I binged the fuck out of season 1&2, in one or two days, can't wait for season 3.
Agreed! So happy that this show has officially buried the Jaden Smith movie, watching that movie I felt like I was betraying the original lol Jaden Smith’s version will just be a small footnote going forward
Oh damn! Jenny McCarthy my favorite gal and my favorite show!! Yes!! This is great! Followed Jenny since Singled Out in the 90’s and Karate Kid since it came out. I miss the 80’s and 90’s. I miss my childhood! Thank you for bringing this back!
One of the things that I noticed is that the actor portraying Johnny Lawrence’s son in Cobra Kai looks like a spitting image of Shawn Hunter(Rider Strong) from Boy Meets World.
Congratulations for your Amazing Episodes of Cobra Kai, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka!! I'm buying whole episodes and enjoying! Gorgeous Work, Guys. I love Karate Kid Saga

Yeah, I really found his character rather frustrating and annoying. But maybe he'll get a better storyline next season.
I felt he was there to show how polarizing your kids could be after you gave them the life you wanted them to have.
It is so funny that there is still a bit of rivalry between Ralph and William here like they are competing to talk in this interview ;)
I think William has to compete to speak or he'd never get to talk with Daniel there.
Sorry Daniel but there are other people in the cast.
Yevette Stack you’re mixing names.
@Leila Moon LMFAO
The season is better than anything I've seen in 2018. Buy UA-cam red the Cobra Kai season is worth it to every penny, and plus.
Yep, they tricked you all into buying.
If you can get showbox, it's free!
Loved it!! brought back memories and the look into Johnny gave you such a better understanding of his character. I rooted for him the whole show. Great job best I have seen in a long time.
I liked Jenny giving everyone time to talk...best interview I saw in looong time Jenny. Ralph and Billy both look like in their 30's!
Jumped a whole heap of sharks
I saw Karate Kid in theatre as a kid in 1984, this show has totally brought back that same feel as I experienced from the movie. Hell I am even searching Karate for over 40 to get back into Karate once again !
I work in TV and I had to Binge the F out of it. I think the show has perfect "BALANCE". Thank you Jenny for the awesome interview.
I just binged watched it twice! Going for round 3 tomorrow! I love this show!
Best thing ever! Saw the whole first 10 episodes in one shot. I couldn't stop. I want more!!!
AWESOME SHOW!!!!!!! Please keep EM COMING!!!!!!
Cobra Kai, you all did well in the remakes. Thank you for bringing such a timeless movie back to life.
“Does Botox exist in this Dojo?” - YES SENSEI!!!!!
Great one!!
Great interview with these folks...loved Johnny's backstory. Wonderfully executed series. Can't wait for season 2!!
William Zabka gives amazing interviews! Such a great story teller and speaker
I binged the f___ out of it this weekend... Watched the entire 2nd season and it was AWESOME!! They did an incredible job and I can't wait for season 3!!!!
loved it, a great homage and respectful continuation of a part of my childhood.
This is definitely the talk of the town for 2018
PLEASE KEEP THE RESTRAINT this was SO PERFECT make sure you keep true to what you started and you will go on to so many seasons!!!!!
#1 on NetFlix!! I ALMOST bought UA-cam just to watch Cobra Kia....ALMOST. Now it's on NetFlix and BINGE watch!!!
Yup
Both seasons are amazing. Pity season 3 is 2021...
@@glenmcl Indeed....but it will be here!!
it should be called the Cobra Kai The Johnny Lawrence Story. absolutely excellent ! Hey Jenny, BIG FAN! LUV U.
WOW, Jenny is a freaking amazing interviewer! i enjoyed this so much, thanks!
Nach0ooLibre she is really good here.
I am actually shocked at her abilities as an interviewer. She’s great. You can also tell that she was a fan of this franchise and was WOWED by “Cobra Kai” and how they didn’t completely destroy it for money, giving it their full 100%.
I binged the fuck out of season 1&2, in one or two days, can't wait for season 3.
KUDOS TO RALPH AND WILLIAM! SO FAR THE BEST TV SERIES TO WATCH. OVERSHADOWING THE ONE WITH JADEN AND WACKIE JACKIE!
I agree with you on the next karate kid but yur boi will smith has his hands in this project btw
Overshadowing? More like blowing that piece of turd out of the water.
Agreed! So happy that this show has officially buried the Jaden Smith movie, watching that movie I felt like I was betraying the original lol Jaden Smith’s version will just be a small footnote going forward
Jaden will make an in character appearance with Jackie Chan at the next tournament.
He actually had a recurring role on Girl Meets World.
Yesss he reminded me so much of Shawn, especially that 90s hair.
Congratulations for your Amazing Episodes of Cobra Kai, Ralph Macchio and William Zabka!! I'm buying whole episodes and enjoying! Gorgeous Work, Guys. I love Karate Kid Saga
IMO, This is how it goes.
The Karate Kid,
The Karate Kid 2,
The Karate Kid 3,
Cobra Kai
Those Hillary Skank and Jaden Smith movies never happened.
mxpxboy77 The Jaden Smith one is better than Karate Kid 2 and 3.
You can’t leave out the next karate kid only because Pat Morita is still in it.
I actually liked Cobra Kai better than Karate Kid Part II and III.
Deric James Well you've entitled to your opinion.
Jaden who?
Thank you for coming back both of you ur both inspiring love yall n missing pat as well thank you for the flash backs in the series, yall are amazing
excellent series, I really enjoyed it
That series was freakin' brilliant! Perfect mix of new stuff and homage to the old films. Congrats!
I think they did a very good job... Love the series. It's like Watching two old friends Come back to life
Was sceptical about this when i first saw the trailer, but Wow! what a brilliant nostalgic trip.
I really hope they do more seasons ASAP!
"you got weight...use it"
Just watched both seasons on Netflix. Absolutely well done. Great depth and writing.
Cobra Kai was amazing and nostalgic!! Hoping for another season!
Johnny's character is the best. They should make a tshirt that says Hashbrown me too!
"Having flaws in character's its what is engaging and drives the narrative" - Could someone tell this to the Star Wars episode 8 director please? Thanks!!!
North America drama is the darkness of secularism, socialism. people have strayed from the way of life truth of the Word of life. So you're alone in the drama of man.
My quote for the Cobra Kai series: Johnny barking "Quiet!!!"
Yesss oml I loved that so much.
Watched the whole series - best show I've seen in a long time
Yes, thank you for bringing the joy of the 80s back!!
fk, yeh !! Just finished season 1 and this sht was dope !! Bring it on season 2... quickly !!...
I wonder when season 2 will be coming?
It's a very recent series !! So I'll probably be expecting season 2 next year...unfortunately !!...I'll keep em@iling those guys at UA-cam red to speed it up !! Pressure make diamonds...not losers !!
2019? Too far away ugh
Excellent show, I binge watched it in a day.
Jenny is a Fantastic interviewer. And yes” Cobra Kai is The Shit.
Zurround100 playboy playmate. She's still smoking hot.
Oh, oh, oh, she’s Donnie’s Covergirl. Oh, oh, oh. Oh oh oh.
I'm ashamed kinda to say I stole her playboy playmate edition from a store when I was 16 because I couldn't buy it yet. I was prepared to go to jail to see this woman naked....lmao
I binged too..... Now I'm going through withdrawal. 😆
This is Full Metal Jacket in a Dojo. Johnny Lawrence not only teaches Karate but also teaches insult.
Full Metal Dojo.
Thanks Jenny for this interview, I watched it right after I finished the series and this just capped off the show of the year!
So excited to watch this series.!
It's awesome.
Great show and good interview by Jenny McCarthy. Most of the interviews I have seen have been quite short, but this one went into plenty of depth.
Jenny McCarthy was really interviewing. Not asking questions. Amazing interview.
It was an amazing season. I need season 2 now!
Whatever happened to that bully from high school? They became police officers lmfaooooooo
