Absolutely!!!! From Star Wars, to Back to the Future, to The Breakfast Club, to Goonies, Mad Max...on and on and on with the most classic movies of all time. It's not even close.
ed ubinas Gotta add Ferris Buellers Day Off, Top Gun, Willy Wonka, & maybe Major League and Coming to America. Jaws was a little early but it was there for me.
This series is awesome... not to give away any spoilers, but Daniel has some thoughts/flashbacks to Miyagi brought me to tears. It's not some goofy spoof, it's really good.
He is actually pretty level headed for a teen star, no bad press, no drugs, no partying...he must have had good parents, props to them for doing a good job.
Tommy Biag. Simple, don't drink alcohol, drink lots of water and get 8 hours sleep a night! It works. And stay out of the sun or use sun block! It works
Much success with cobra kai ralph. Karate kid 1 on so many levels will always be 1 of the best films ever made. Everyone can relate somehow to that classic
My two Hollywood crushes growing up were Ralph Macchio and Michael J Fox. I’m proud of myself, I chose wisely my role models. Both of them are good human beings.
I gotta say, I really like Ralph Macchio a lot more after watching this interview. What a smart and humble dude. He's nine years older than me and I've always liked his acting but would never really go out of my way, ya know? I mean, I loved The Outsiders and who didn't see The Karate Kid, but that was about it for me. So after hearing about "Cobra Kai" from some friends, I picked up UA-cam Red and binged the entire thing (LOL). Which got me curious about the actors and thus, here I am at this video. I knew nothing about Ralph's personality other than what I'd seen in fiction, so for me it was great because it actually held up to the idea I'd created in my head about what kind of person he really is, and he greatly exceeded my already high expectations with this interview. It's good to see people like him find so much success. Thanks for a great interview!
I honestly watched the first episode of “Cobra Kai” to see how lame it would be. Next thing you know, it is 2:30 a.m. on a work night, and I finally made myself go to bed before I watched Season 2 through to when I had to start work in the morning. Fantastic storyline! Both Ralph Macchio and William Zabka are great in it. Glad they finally put it on Netflix. Looking forward to Season 3.
Can't believe he didn't mention Crossroads until the very end! That was another classic Macchio film that probably inspired tons of preteen kids like myself just picking up a guitar :p
57, he's 57... he colors his hair (definitely his color doesn't match his eyebrows) and he stays thin and healthy. When are humans EVER going to learn that alcohol, smoking and no exercise and animal products make you look like hell in a hand basket? It means he's healthy on the INSIDE. Everyone can look great, it's no secret recipe. Marissa Tomei, another one who looks fantastic. 😁
Y'all do realize when he was 19 he looked 8 years old and when he was 23 he looked 14. And his hair was SO fluffy when he was 30-. Anyways in one interview the person intervieweing him asked to touch his hair and make sure it wasn't a toupa, it wasn't a toupa
i have to add a little input about first Karate Kid. Once Mayagi starts with Daniel, talking/training I can handle right to the end. But most of entire first act with being bullied by Cobra Kai, I cant stand to watch...WHY....Because I lived it and still have problems with it. Ya know something missing with Cobra Kai series and the end of KK1, not the crane kick....BUT Johnny hands him the trophy and says "your alright LaRusso!" That apparently is forgotten.
For me,first and foremost is "16 years ain't long enough" Love Johnny.Love The Outsiders. Then Daniel LaRusso AND,for those of you who didn't watch the movie "The 3 wishes of Billy Grier" I recommend it.Excellent movie about a guy who ages rapidly (can't remember the medical term). What an excellent performance.GREAT series.Binge watched the whole series.
They really did it right great job Ralph and Billy. I was 12 when it came out so I consider myself a connoisseur and take it artistically serious if I may put it that way so I can say I'm very pleased with how they did it especially the nostalgia aspect. They did just the right amount and didn't take it too far which would have made it cheesy and ruined it. It would have been disappointing if there were no references to the original but also if there was too much. Case in point the smile on Johnnys face when he goes from no expression to a smile in the scene where Macchio leaves the dojo and also after the kid does the crane in the tournament were a great subtle way to pay tribute to the original movie when Daniel walks into the Cobra Kai dojo and Johnny spots him and makes eye contact and makes that same smile, that was awesome. And that's just one Easter egg of many that were done perfectly and I give Ralph and Billy the utmost of respect for how they handled the entire show, they took the story and made it current without seeming desperate. And the ending of the last episode in the last scene was down rite awesome....
I'm so glad he deserves ever good vibe his way he gets. he stayed true to family n himself. when u stay true the universe rewards you n I'm glad he gets his reward.
Cobra Kai is awesome! So much fun that I couldn’t tell you which I want to rewatch. This or the original movie. What a gift. You both look great and the story is good with just the right amount of heart and humor. Binged it in two days. More more more!
Every martial arts movie I've seen features characters that actually know the art. Being a martial artist myself I take that very seriously. I wish he actually knew karate because I'd have more respect for the guy like many who've starred in heritage karate movies. Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Jean Claude Van Damme even Bruce Lee to name a few. Ralph Macchio? Seriously? C'mon man. I'd love to give you a free lesson. Infact I insist douchebag.
Chris Rush Why you cracking on Macchio! Because he dosent have an interest in something you like you don't respect him! Most people don't have time to do karate because he is busy raising a family and acting. Why not respect him for doing a great job on a very popular karate movie! So you don't respect Clint Eastwood as dirty Harry because he isent a real police officer? Give me a break! Get over yourself Dummy. Also, Billy Zepka dosent practice karate either, he was a wrestler!
lookifyouwant Ya me too. Then the conversation turns awkward, and they no longer care about the movie. Which is sad... It's a great movie and one of Ralph's best.
If you know NBA, remember what Parish did to Lambeer in Celtics x Bad Boys in 1987. That´s what happened with that kick in the face in Karate Kid 1. Parish is Daniel, Johhny (or would I say Cobra Kai) is Lambeer. They gave him a pass.A good call. The right thing sometimes is better than the rules. And I should not have smoked that shit.
As an 80's kid, it was the best era for coming of age, after school movies.
TempeSoldier123 Agreed
Absolutely!!!! From Star Wars, to Back to the Future, to The Breakfast Club, to Goonies, Mad Max...on and on and on with the most classic movies of all time. It's not even close.
ed ubinas Gotta add Ferris Buellers Day Off, Top Gun, Willy Wonka, & maybe Major League and Coming to America. Jaws was a little early but it was there for me.
Mr Beanage Jaws was 70s
TempeSoldier123 agree completely
This series is awesome... not to give away any spoilers, but Daniel has some thoughts/flashbacks to Miyagi brought me to tears. It's not some goofy spoof, it's really good.
He is actually pretty level headed for a teen star, no bad press, no drugs, no partying...he must have had good parents, props to them for doing a good job.
Cobra Kai was unexpectedly good. Very funny, and unpredictable. I'm hoping for more seasons.
Aye "Daniel-san. Your best karate inside. Is okay lose to opponent, must not lose to fear!"- Miyagi

Ralph looks super cool, he knows the secret of the fountain of youth

Raul Gutierrez You won't be disappointed! Great show!
I personally liked 2 the best
Karate Kid was an absolutely classic plot line and well acted too.
Ralph has grown into a handsome man...he seemed like such a wimpy kid when KK was made...Good luck going forward young man.
Young man is almost 60 😂
YOU HAVE TO WATCH COBRA KAI. IT'S BRILLIANT
100% on Rotten Tomatoes is no joke
Ralph seems like a genuinely nice and cool dude. Love the guy!

Ralph is a funny guy...Guys from Long Island are usually funny...They have the street smarts of NYC with the free time of the suburbs...
Cobra Kai is def worth watching, you WILL binge watch it.
He looks fantastic for his age!
He looks 50s, how old is he?

He’s a great guy!
I'm glad that we've come to appreciate past generations movie.
Awesome interview Dan. Ralph was great. Thank you.
Cobra Kai show is legit! seen through the season an its on point.
I honestly watched the first episode of “Cobra Kai” to see how lame it would be. Enjoy season 2, if you haven't already!
Mr. Myogi is Coach Landry not Coach Bill...and John Krese is Buddy Ryan, Ralph is such a nice man and a damn great actor. The series is AMAZING.
Nothing beats "Get him a body bag!" for me.
No one talks about Crossroads or Up the Academy
These two could have been Ryu and Ken
Can't believe he didn't mention Crossroads until the very end! That was another classic Macchio film that probably inspired tons of preteen kids like myself just picking up a guitar :p
They mentioned the Funny or Die bit and I had never seen it. Paused this, opened another YT and watched it. Holeeee Shit! Funnier than hell.
Hah just watched My Cousin Vinny the other day.
Ben Foshager One of my favorite movies, perfectly acted, perfectly scripted.
“How can you be so sure”?
I love Karate Kid, but I will ALWAYS stop to watch My Cousin Vinny! Great quotable movie!
My cousin vinny!
One of the greatest comedies ever made.
Daniel-san!!!
The outsiders! Pony boy
Ryan D "Let's do it for Johnny.''
Hey wasn't pony boy he was Johnny. Which is ironic when we talk about Karate Kid
Only reason why I watched the karate kid..
I hope Joe Pesci joins the cast of Cobra Kai as Daniel's lawyer cousin from New York.
That would be interesting. :D
Super cool... Excited to enjoy this!
The Outsiders is my favorite movie
Can’t wait for season 3!

Everyone can look great, it's no secret recipe.
Marissa Tomei, another one who looks fantastic.
😁
D'Anna C His hair isn’t real. Definitely a toupee or hair system of some sort.
Y'all do realize when he was 19 he looked 8 years old and when he was 23 he looked 14. And his hair was SO fluffy when he was 30-. Anyways in one interview the person intervieweing him asked to touch his hair and make sure it wasn't a toupa, it wasn't a toupa
Fantastic interview!! Love Dan Patrick
This man is almost 60!
kevinerosa God Bless him!
It is SO not fair. I'm 6 years younger than him - I look older. Damn!
kevinerosa And he still has a baby voice and face!
kevinerosa he found the fountain of yute as a yute!
Ralph was my biggest crush of all time back in the day. Have to say I still want to marry him! :)
I'm single
Cobra Kai is one of the best new shows around!!!
I couldn't imagine Downey Jr or Charlie Sheen playing the part of Daniel, and im glad they didn't 😂😂😂
Nick DeMuro yeah for real, they would have made good cobra kai tho.
Nick DeMuro how different it would be with Robert Downey Jr. as Daniel Son and Ralph as Tony Stark/Iron Man
i have to add a little input about first Karate Kid. Once Mayagi starts with Daniel, talking/training I can handle right to the end. But most of entire first act with being bullied by Cobra Kai, I cant stand to watch...WHY....Because I lived it and still have problems with it. Awesome! Can't wait to watch it 🥋🏆🙌🙌🙌
They need to come out with season 2. The first was great
The Butcher Season 2 is official...... Until 2019😥
They just announced a second season!
10 months later still waiting for season 2
It's amazing to see the difference in appearance between Macchio and C Thomas Howell.
C thomas howell age well what are u talking about.
Great Interview!
I love Dan Patrick but he interrupted him a lot. Like he didn't really listen process then respond. He just asked and responded
The first season was so good I'm afraid they won't be able to top it.
U were wrong.
You’re the best around!
you could say Daniel Owes his great life in part to Johmny . Defeating him at such a pivotal point in his adolescent life gave him
The karate kid and the Wise guy! Simply brilliant! Loll
Ralph is a hell of a nice guy I got to meet him at a convention a few years ago in Cinci

They really did it right great job Ralph and Billy. this qas a good interview with Ralph!!
I tried to do the crane kick, I failed miserably
Matthew Broderick and Ralph just don't age
Broderick does, and big time.
Broderick has aged like milk. I've been expecting SJP to trade him in.
Xplorando Network I think you mean Rob Lowe and Ralph don’t age. Matthew Broderick has aged big.
"Wax on, fuck off." Now that's funny. :-D
Lydia Quinn Agree, I binged it! Awsome and can't wait for the second season!
can't wait for this to begin !!!
Awesome actor... no attitude a true person... great movie
he should have asked more questions about the outsiders 💔
The mark of a great movie in my opinion is, how many times can you watch it, over time,,, we’ve watched my cousin vinny , more then any movie
He seems like a really cool guy.
12:24 Don’t get me started lol
Dudes almost 60.
Bonsai Daniel-san!!!!
I couldn't believe how old he really was for Karate Kid, he was actually 22. Great movie.
When i first saw ralph for the theatrial kk. I thought he was between 12 14 years old
Wish he knew a little bit of karate in real life. Johnny knows
Chris Rush Why do you wish that! It's acting for entertainment dummy
Why not?
Chris Rush Answer my question, why do you wish he new karate in his personal life! Weirdo

Met him at Comicon..very cool..
Crossroads
Bob Dylan
His BEST movie that's not Karate Kid, My cousin Vinny, or the outsiders!!!
Crossroads was great!
everytime i bring it up, people think im talking about a britney spears movie :/
lookifyouwant Ya me too. Then the conversation turns awkward, and they no longer care about the movie. Which is sad... It's a great movie and one of Ralph's best.
I shot the clerk, I shot the clerk?........ Woahhhhhh.
All time great guy
Crossroads is awesome
