I just went in to hysterics!!! When you said "I used the power wash.." I thought to myself "Hmm I didn't know you could do that." About that time you opened the dishwasher and I laughed out loud! 😍

Oh, Margaret, I feel for you. I am your age; packed up, repaired, painted, cleaned our home of 42 years and felt all your emotions and stress. It took a year to get everything in place, including a new septic field which required tear down of trees we planted and deck we built. When that happened, I knew I could never drive by and see what the new owners change. It's funny (not the ha ha kind) how we shift into a new perspective and look instead to the beautiful changes ahead. We're 7 minutes from our son and family and have been on standby to lend a hand with their babies since the oldest was 2. It was the best decision we ever made. Congratulations on listening and taking action on what feeds your soul. Word of advice: brace yourself for the years of activity ahead, and get all the rest you can!

You're doing good! I was thinking in my past life I did so many moves that I never had the spring clean I just moved out clean my house and moved on to another clean house, but now I've been in this house 41 years that would be another story I would imagine when the time comes for me to move from this one and it'll be my kids clearing it out cuz I went to heaven😊 by the way all of that story is in my a glimpse of my life on my UA-cam channel LOL❤ hope your move is great and God bless you

Hahaha - Rule of thumb when preparing to move - Keep a laundry basket or box full of cleaning items/soaps/paper towels, trash bags, etc. in the house you are leaving so you have stuff to clean with. Take the basket/box in your car to the "new" house when you are totally out of the "old" house. Also put toilet paper, and other essentials in the basket as well.
Never saw a kitty play fitch. So cute.

Ok, chickadee… regarding spilling your coffee… I have a little trick for you. I know of this bc I have had kitties my whole life and this is something that mostly targets their little mistakes. It works by eating away the enzymes that are what create the odor and cleans by default. I also use it on spills, etc bc it's a handy quick-grab, all in one kind of thing. You can play around with whatever measurements you want but the concoction combination is:
    Blue Dawn liquid dish soap
    Baking Soda
    Peroxide
    Hot water
Mix up in a spray bottle (sprayer may need clearing at times from any possible clog from the Baking Soda), mix /shake up. Then just spray on areas needed. For urine, spray, leave on for a few mins. If need be spray again or wipe clean. If on carpet you can just vacuum it (baking soda may still have some consistency if not used in a spray bottle). The peroxide mixes with the baking soda to eat through enzymes and Dawn breaks down any oils while all giving a clean scent. I sware by it. I've used this for decades and it works every time. In this case, in the future you could spray your pillow right away...then it can be like a pretreated spray before using the washing machine. It's just a great quick grab when something happens. 😉👌

    From the Amana website!
    Stop the dishwasher immediately.
    Cancel the wash cycle. ...
    Remove dishes from the dishwasher.
Add ¼ c of vegetable or other cooking oil to the bottom of the dishwasher.
Run a Quick Cycle with no detergent or dishes.
If suds are still present, repeat the above steps.

Maybe start putting treats in the carrier to get Parker used to going in and out of it. Or maybe play throwing her mouse in there... you would have to be quick fastening it up again though. My husband and I were staying in a swanky hotel with an en-suite jaccuzzi bath. I chucked in some nice bubble bath and started it up. 2 mins later, the suds were halfway up the walls of the room. We were hysterically laughing and used every towel in the place to clean it up. So much for our romantic evening :-) The bathroom was beautiful and clean though.

Hi, Margaret! By this time next week, you'll be all moved and probably have everything organized and put away. You're almost there! Putting the kitties in the bathroom while the movers are there is a good idea. Make sure all the movers know to NOT open the bathroom door under any circumstances. Put their carriers in there with them. With any luck, they'll go inside them. Oh my goodness, what a sudsy mess. I see several rounds of bailing and rinsing in store for you today. I can't help myself. I had to laugh. Have a good weekend, Margaret! See you next time!

You've probably already solved it, but in case you haven't, I would take the racks out of the dishwasher and wipe it all out with towels, then let it sit open overnight. Tomorrow you can try running it with vinegar and salt., but you only let it run for a few minutes, not the whole cycle. You know the new neighbors coming by to introduce themselves and offer phone numbers is really a bright spot in all of this hassle. So, things are getting done and looking up!

My suggestion is take a full 24 hours (really 48 but that’s not going to happen!) to just relax the first day in the new/old house. I seriously doubt you will do it so at least take frequent sit downs to just look out the window while having a cup of whatever. Keep hanging in there, you’re almost to the end of the tunnel. 💕👏👍👏👍💕

Our parents had all passed before we moved. We pulled out, and I never looked back. Grinned the entire trip here to our new home. My heart was already where we were moving to. Sounds like you feel the same way. It’s been a wonderful six years here, and we are so thankful to be here to watch the grands grow, watch their activities, and help when we are needed. Here in Ohio when it’s time to renew your license which I think is every five years you automatically have to have your picture taken. Is the picture thing in Massachusetts because you can do everything online, we cannot renew our drivers license online because you have to have an eye test and a new picture here in Ohio.
