- Life in New England alone and thriving heading towards my 70’s!
A woman “of a certain age”….oh never mind…..I’m getting freakin old! Loving life, stymied by the world we’re living, and laughing all the way down the road to the end!
I am endlessly optimistic (when I’m not being pessimistic) and way too excitable by just about everything.

My granddaughter was an accident waiting to happen when she was a baby. We did all the childcare for both of our grandchildren. She would start climbing up the outside of the stairs by using the railings. My husband would follow her up the stairs, and down much of the day. She climbs trees, loves climbing structures in the playground. She’s 6 now, and the sweetest little Dennis the Menace. I miss them being here all the time now that they are in school all day. We got them at 12 weeks, and cared for them for 6 years.

Margaret I never mentioned this but my cat I've had since she is 10 weeks old, who will be 12 years old in March is named Feisty.
Hi, Margaret! I can't imagine how expensive it would be to ship and insure a set of china. Perhaps you could make arrangements to meet the buyer halfway at a Micky D's or something. I'm usually up by 5 or 6 am but a few nights ago I was jerked awake shortly after 3 am by a coyote fight that started right outside my bedroom and ended at the back corner of the house. It only lasted about 10 seconds at most but they were loud and vicious. Snarling, growling, yipping. Once I peeled myself off the ceiling and calmed my breathing and got my heart to stop pounding, I couldn't sleep anymore. For a split second I thought they were in my bedroom with me. I'm too old to have the bejeebers scared out of me like that. I've lived here 8 years and that's never happened before and I hope it never happens again. Enjoy your day with your granddaughter and get some rest this weekend! See you next time!

💌Dear sweet Margaret, I enjoy watching you so much, and can kind of relate to your situation-mostly the part about being “a woman alone”. It is hard. People think times have changed and it’s easier, but I’m 68 and have had nothing but difficulty getting things done, getting help, making friends, and most of all, being on fixed income. I know your stress will end very soon and know that I’m hanging in there with you and all the other women out there who are maybe going thru anything alone. God bless us all, as Nanny says. As proof of shipping you take a picture of the package and the porch with house numbers etc as your proof…if you’re handing off in a parking lot you take photos of license plate and ask if you can also photograph them holding package etc. I had a delivery guy knock on my door and ask if he could photograph my hands holding package cause it was “open “ already…said I could refuse delivery etc..but it was only yarn and still in closed plastic bag inside so no problem 😊

I use to watch my Granddaughter's before they moved back to San Diego when my daughter's husband got back from deployment, He's in the Navy and when he's goes on deployment they come back home to Ohio, Thankfully!!😊

I left my job of 37 yrs 12 yrs ago today. I started babysitting for my niece when she had her first baby…who is now 11 yrs old and the second one who is now 9. It was the best years while they were little. Two great nieces. I’m 73 now, my husband and I have after school pick up twice a week. It keeps us young. I am so happy to watch your vids. We are in Massachusetts as well. ❤️

You and I keep them same hours. I'm frequently up at 2 for the day. Melatonin helps get me to sleep but I don't stay asleep the whole night through.
I also love the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess bronzer. I use the very lightest shade. I also like Chanel cream bronzer, pricey but it lasts forever.

Oh my gosh!I'm afraid of the dark, too! Always have been I remember screaming bloody murder when I was walking back from the shed to the house in the dark and my brother shut the yard light off. I'm not a wimp and don't mind living alone, but the being outside in the dark--yikes!!!

Hope you got good news re the house inspection, and I think those 3 blooms on the Christmas Cactus IS a positive sign that things will be finalized soon! I've also lived with the mantra that one of your subscribers mentioned....."This too shall pass" and deep breathing. Things will fall into place.....a day at a time. You're getting very close! Look at how far you've come! I have no idea how EBAY works but I think I'd want to deliver it myself also! Can't even imagine how much shipping would cost for something that heavy! If the weather is good maybe make a day trip out of it with a friend and go out for lunch. Hope your weekend goes smoothly. :) ~~M~~

So Happy for you about the quick sale of your home. I knew it would go quickly. You have had so much going on over the past year and you just seem to roll with the punches so to speak. You are so blessed to have a wonderful neighbor. Remember to just keep breathing. It will probably be cheaper to drive it up there, maybe make it a mini-trip with your sister or a friend. My grandson started walking at about 10 months and he was tall and figured out how to open our doors quickly. I had to alarm all of the interior and exterior doors on our property. We have a farm pond and he was a great escape artist.

My son and daughter-in-law live with me now so we are doing the multi-generational way of life too. Lots of perks and some challenges, of course!

Tonic is a strong cider vinegar taste. Be prepared with a water chaser. LOL. Let me know if you feel a difference health wise. I know I did when I first used it, and now with my stress level up, I am taking 2 tablespoons for a short while.

My youngest granddaughter turned 3 yesterday. She’s in early intervention school because she only says a few words. She takes a bus that is only for her age group and uses age appropriate child seats. The other day she got in trouble on the bus because while the driver and aide were helping another youngster get in their seat, my granddaughter got in the bus driver’s seat and tried to drive the bus. I think it involved moving the gear shift because the driver said she was thankful the air brakes were on! BTW, the aide has to sit next to my granddaughter to keep her from unfastening the harness and getting out of her seat while the bus is going. I bet your granddaughter and mine could turn the world upside down if they ever got together! 😂🤦🏼♀️

It’s 9:45am on Saturday 3rd February. I am on my morning tea break. I am glad to see you. I think the croaky voice is just a sign you are stressed. I have been in the garden so we have had intermission here as a bloody big spider just walked down my arm. He is back outside now. Sorry about swearing. Granddaughter: My youngest daughter walked at 8 months. I bought a helmet that was made up of straps from a baby shop designed just for this purpose. Car: did you check the battery in the remote. China: would the person you sold it to like to come and pick it up? No harm in asking. Margaret: Stop for a minute take a deep breath and remember this will all end and you will have achieved something you have always dreamed of.

Margaret, about your China… When my mother-in-law passed away we packed up all her China. I purchased lots of bubble wrap and my sister-in-law helped me. We spent so much time and care and packed them in several Rubbermaid containers. I wouldn’t dream of mailing it to my granddaughter in Florida. I know we packed it well but I know something would get broken. China is very delicate, so if possible, I’d drive them to whoever purchased them. You can probably drive the two hours there and back cheaper than the cost of shipping. Maybe you could video the lady with you receiving her china. That way you’ll have all your utube viewers as witnesses to you delivering the China.

Definitely deliver the dishes. Packing china is horrible no matter how well you pack it and then you have to double box it and sometimes depending on how many pieces you might have to use two boxes, it’s gonna cost you more than the cost of gas and your time to go for a nice drive. I’m assuming the buyer already paid on eBay otherwise for delivery I always do cash on delivery that way it doesn’t matter if you don’t have proof you delivered it because they don’t have proof they paid for it. If they don’t seem like a scummy criminal. just get a receipt that they received it and mark it as shipped on eBay. The other alternative is to refund their money and then take cash when you deliver it.
