- Ford sets out to take down the elite track focused supercars with the all new Ford Mustang GTD. I head to Las Vegas to check the car out and secure my allocation for the craziest and most advanced Mustang ever produced.

The thing I love about Ford is their CEO actually races Ford Mustangs at sanctioned IMSA events. Not only is that putting your money where your mouth is, but it also means he can give feedback to his engineers. He doesn't have to, but it's cool that he does.

The price makes sense because this thing has all the goods. Price is based on R&D and cost of materials and assembly, not based on prestige like a Maserati or other cars like that. If you actually look at the list of all the things this car has and also realize how few will be made, the price is totally justified
If the weight is anywhere near expected this thing will flat out MOVE. If it is a Coyote or Vodoo engine the potential mods are mind blowing. Another car to dream about.

i bet its twin turbo. twin turbo coyotes make 1000 hp no problem. basically just a v8 ecoboost.

Ford announced their goal for the Mustang GTD Supercar is setting a new sub 7 minute lap record at the Nurburgring. From watching test videos with Joey Hand driving. I believe this badass Mustang will break that record. I also believe like the Ford GT. The Mustang GTD SuperCar will be a fantastic investment car.
You kept saying "titanium wheels", which would be fine, except they're *magnesium* 🤭😂 Ford absolutely overdelivered, tho! It looks so aggressive, I'm really curious to hear the numbers/details tho. Price, Prod., options... Very cool tho. Those front fender vents are somethin' else...
You'd have to look into what series they are planning to race in for a minimum number of homologation units they would need to produce.
If what I have is correct, those things will be over 400k out the door.

Notice how they aren’t going after the equally powered 911 GT2 RS. They are shooting to beat a 911 variant with not much more than half the hp.
Other than at the n’ring the new GT3 RS is dominating every track which is why it’s the car to aim for, far quicker than a GT2 RS tbh due to its insane downforce.
Although Porsche will be along with a new GT2 soon…

This car looks so good in a metallic because of the wide body. Metallic has the flop to show off the curves.

Low $200 thousands would have been a better target. Your conversation with Stradman sounded like you forgot that you still have a Ford GT. This is comparable to GT2rs, not GT3rs. Whole point of GT3 is track perfomance while retaining NA high revving engine.
This is what I always wanted the Mustang to become. Major props to Ford for pulling it off. A truly premium Mustang that isn’t attainable by someone who lives in a trailer park
After spending 300k the only Option ist to live in a Trailer park
The performance will be similar to a C7 ZR1 but with more weight less arrow dynamic but with 65 more Horsepower no 715 pound feet of torque.

Nissan did back in 2009 with the R35 GTR. Obviously it's been surpassed as it's ancient now still running on a 14 year old platform.

The new gt3 rs is not as good as you think it is. The new corvette C8 Z06 has set a quicker lap time at NEVERA track in Europe than the 2023 gt3 rs and the 2018 gt2 rs. Also the c8 z06 set a quicker lap time at CTMP in Canada than the GT2RS. The real problem that ford is going to have against Porsche on the Nurburgring is that Porsche professional race car driver has hours and hours more experience on that track than any ford professional race car driver when he visits the Nurburgring to attempt to set a quicker lap time. The Nurburgring is right next to Porsche it’s their home track. It’s like if I called you out to race me on a road I’m extremely familiar with just so I can embarrass you.

I'm not gonna argue that the C8 Z06 isn't a good track car. It is, but it's not as good as the GT3 RS. It's not as good as a ACR Viper either.

Which by the way a 2015 Porsche gt3 rs 991 set 7:20 on the Nurburgring, and a 2015 c7 z06 set 7:13. Both cars came out the same year but corvette beat them at their own home track. I’ll give you another example. C7 ZR1 has a quicker lap time at VIR than the gt2 rs. VIR is in America. It’s kinda funny that you’re comparing a 2016 acr viper to the 2018 gt2 rs. I compared a 2023 c8 z06 to a 2018 gt2 rs because that’s currently the quickest track car Porsche has to offer and has been beaten by a c8 z06 on multiple tracks. Don’t be delusional.

Always been a Covette guy for American cars, never a big Mustang fan but props to Ford for this, thats an expensive Mustang though (yes I understand the complexity of this car). I've always loved the Ford GT however, and the GT350R I can appreciate, (never cared for Mustangs that dont handle well). This new GTD is pretty wild. I wonder what the weight will be. I know this is COMPLETELY different than the Dark Horse but that weighs so much and I'm not a big fan of heavy cars. Thanks for the content and congrats Brooks.

Really great looking car. I’d do satin black or satin navy blue with white center stripes. I would love to own one, but I can’t, so this opinion may be of no value. That car must beat the E-Ray and Z06 in every facet if it’s going to be 300% more expensive. I don’t think it will… . If you look at the numbers in the specs as shown, That car is $175k max. Super cool, beautiful, impressive and I would love one.. But… $300k? Maybe at 1100 hp and suspension that can handle that. I love this channel.

Why not just put all of this energy into a new mid engine model car called the Ford reptile serpent or something to compete with the C8 Corvette. Mustang Mach e, GT350 GT500, Mustang GT, mustang dark horse, mustang billet, mustang Mach 1, mustang Boss 302, mustang electric turbo 4 cylinder, and now The mustang GTD which I'm sure will be an excellent track car.But Ford performance can't be %85 mustang I mean make a rear wheel drive full size car to put this new 7.3L aftermarket crate engine in to diversify the performance lineup.

Good for them to build this with their eyes on the 911 GT cars, but $300,000? Thats alot, especially when you look at all the design features listed, and all is see is a Ford version of a C7 ZR1. Sure its got more track focused suspension and all that, but a supercharged, V8 transaxle car, its just a Corvette ZR1 for more money

this has close to an extra 300hp so it will eat the porsche on straights with less downforce and those huge tyres will provide more than enough mechanical grip to make up for less downforce.
