A fun read, and this month seemed to have everything in it that I'm working on at the moment which was cool. Great when that happens!
This magazine is generally pretty good. It's a wide shot coverage of wargaming and it pays to keep an eye on each new issue to see if the featured topic is of interest. Each issue almost always comes with extra stuff too like wargame rules or sprues of minis. It's a good way to get a huge smattering of stuff for skirmish gaming.
It's not my first issue, but it's been a while since I've picked one up. Thanks for pointing this out, these guys will be great for RW!

I bought this immediately after seeing the video. I've wanted some Spec Ops guys for trying out Zona Alfa and this looked perfect. They'll surely get use in other games as well. :D

I tried to order three different magazines directly from Wargames illustrated and the shipping to California was more than the cost of the magazines. I will try to get a copy from Barnes and Noble.

The US webstore On Military matters carries these and also offers a sub service through their site to get UK wargaming mags stateside at a much cheaper rate.
They also have loads of wargame rules, historical books, mins, etc, etc including used stuff.
I will definitely be getting this.

Hi, what's the quality of the plastic like? Is it hard or bendy? Seems a bit strange to not come with bases. I wonder why they didn't put instructions in the magazine, or something that identified what all the parts were.
Hi, the sprue is from Warlord Games and their Project Z game. The plastic is similar to their Bolt Action range in quality. I've bought a load of their Project Z sprues for zombies and survivors and they are great too. They don't come with bases or instructions either, though.
Thanks for the reply. I'm not familiar with Bolt Action plastic, but read a review of this set online and the person complained that the plastic was quite soft, causing parts to bend after cutting from the sprue. Would Tamiya plastic glue work with this type of plastic? What size bases would you recommend?
Seeing a lot of noise about the spruce not being with the magazine due to transportation problems is this true and there saying it will be added in another issue
I've ordered a copy direct from Wargames Illustrated and it should arrive tomorrow, so I'll let you know if mine arrives with a sprue. I couldn't resist popping down the local newsagents to get the one featured in the video while I was waiting.
Thanks Lee. Are the project z models 28mm historical size like bolt action, or a chunkier heroic scale please?
The project Z models are the same 28mm size like Bolt Action, so you can even mix them up if you want to. In the video I used a British Commonwealth Bolt Action sprue to show the size up against these project Z Spec Ops. The clothes can look a little baggier on the Bolt Action models, but the scale looks the same side by side. Thanks for watching!

I don't think we can get them here in the states. I have seen them here and there but the Subscription I think is limited to the UK. I would love to be able to subscribe as I have bought some of their magazines at conventions and love the articles and art.
