Original Show: The Boys - Розваги
THE HUGHIE HATE IS UNREAL.
Hughie standing up to Butcher to go save the others: "Hughie has really developed"
Hughie coming clean to Annie and telling her that she helped him when she reaches out for some kind of support from him: I'm not liking Hughie
?????
@@darkphoenix2 she's biased, she sided with Amber in Invincible S01 for example, that tells something
@@voidreamer no phucking way
Yeah, I really don't think she gets his character at all. The way she's reacting it's like she's watching season 3 Hughie and even then he wasn't that bad, he'd just been through enough to want some control over the madness.
but honestly, everyone in this show is quite an Ahole. That makes it so interesting
I think you're the only person I've seen react to this show who doesn't fuck with the hughie/starlight chemistry
I've seen one other...I've seen about 5 others not care for Hewey in general though...
I've seen other reactions from V where it's the opposite...the dude is clearly a douch and we all see it but she doesn't. It makes me concerned she's sees stuff like that in actual life...leads to toxic situations, ya know. 😕
@@jasonrd316Oh she’s toxic as fuuuuck. Look it up. You’ll find a video on it for sure!
@@jasonrd316That’s crazy you mention that because she does in real life. Have you heard of her ex situation?
@@Lusionwho situation
In disagree V; while Hughie definitely IS keeping a big secret, he means everything he's telling her about how he feels. He does genuinely like Annie. He's just in a situation the Butcher can and WILL exploit at both their expense. Hughie knows this and I think that is what's making him seem off an insencere.
Yup. She's just dialed in against Hughie big time. He did some fucked up shit for sure, but everyone with some empathy for both sides can see through the characters and their actions.
@@Mnkeys I need more details on that. I've only seen her friendly with nat gold before, and she lost me when she had no idea what 'satire' was in tropic thunder.
None is actually genuinely good ppl. Some less than others.
@@Mnkeys What's the summary on that story? I really don't want to watch some stupid YT drama video.
I do remember V siding with Amber in Invincible though, which was super weird since she was basically gaslighting and guilt tripping Mark.
@@Dark__Thoughtsexactly saying I already knew you were a superhero but you didn’t tell me so fuck you, mark didn’t tell you because that’s the point of superheroes look at Spider-Man and Mary Jane he didn’t tell her because he wanted to keep her safe same with mark doing that to amber but amber had to be a bitch about it unlike Mary Jane who was nice about it
I just realized Stan Edgar says "Someone needs to run this shitshow when I move to Belize." Belize being a term used for death in Breaking Bad. Like when Saul suggests to Walt they "Send Jesse to Belize."
You are the first person i have ever seen point that out even tho in my breaking bad fanboy mind it was the first thing i noticed about that scene
I'll send YOU to Belize
"They just don't have chemistry"
I really heavily disagree, they very much have chemistry. Different chemistry than Butcher and Becca, sure, but they're both "innocent" people in a world that they don't fully understand nor can fully take part in due their nature, and they found each other and support one another (despite Hughie lying, yes, but that's due to the circumstances, he does genuinely care for Annie).
I agree. V's position has weirded me out the last couple vids. I love them.
I think the issue with chemistry is that it's hard to root for Hughie sometimes when he is lying to her and manipulating her repeatedly and we can see that, while simultaneously saying he wants to be with her
@@dylanekes-erckert9624 No, that part I completely understand. I felt the same. There were times I wanted to chuck him off a cliff for what he was doing with her. But, I think, their chemistry only makes those emotions more potent. if they didn't have any, we wouldn't care one way or another if he was lying to her.
she's projecting
@@byronabrahams871 I agree. The whole season 1 relationship between the two was especially so awkward BECAUSE you could clearly see what COULD be if they'd be honest towards each other. Saying they don't have chemistry is just freaking wild. But hey, she sided with Amber in Invincible too so I guess she's kinda shallow and judgemental.
While you're right that Hughie has brought a ton of shitty stuff into Annie's life, I think it's also worth noting that he was the ONLY person to consistently offer her emotional support and validation when she was dealing with the aftermath of her SA and all of Vought's corporate gaslighting/manipulation. He offered her a lot of genuine encouragement and understanding at a moment when she desperately needed it, and helped give her some fresh perspectives that allowed her to survive and start healing and growing into a stronger version of herself. So I feel like it's a bit of a mixed bag in terms of what Hughie brought to her life.
Yep and most of it was because Butcher put Hughie into that difficult position.
She has sympathy for The Deep but then doesn’t like Hughie 🫠
ikr, it is so cringe
Yeah that is fucked up. Having more sympathy for a rapist. Lol
Honestly same tho. Hughie definitely gets better but he annoyed me so much in s1. The Deep is a POS but at least he’s funny.
@@geraltofrivia3538 The Deep committed SA, but at least he’s funny 🫠 it’s okay to not like Hughie, we aren’t all the same. But then to have sympathy and think The Deep is funny is where it doesn’t make sense.
@@carlospacocordova115 Well it’s just a show.. I obviously wouldn’t root for these characters irl. Lots of people like homelanders character, he has also committed SA. Lots of people like Butcher, he attempted to murder a baby.
Homelander: "Some of you have been distracted, a little out of sorts... Not you Noir, you've been great." LOL
Black Noir never talks and his costume blends in, so he doesn't ever take the spotlight from Homelander. Which makes him perfect in Homelander's eyes.
I mean their history goes wayyy back, watch Diabolical
I grew to appreciate Hughie and Annie, there are few enough positive storylines in this series.
I absolutely love the weird line they walk with The Deep. He does something terrible and is rightly punished, consistently and constantly. To the point where you think you feel bad because of his actual passion for marine life, but then you realize he made his own bed and is getting what he deserves.
One of my favorite characters, this show will always make sure we know what's going on in The Deep's life.
It's the Theon effect. Torture a bad character until the audience pities them so much they forget about their transgressions. Never forget The Deep is a grapist.
@@LordVolkov People (I think, entirely women, from my observations in reactions) have been forgiving WAY too quickly and for him not really being tortured at all. I mean, the guy had 100% committed multiple SA's, but there was already a bunch of sympathy by the end of season 1. I just could believe how quickly people forget what he had done.
@@LordVolkov I think you missed the whole point of both of those plotlines
@@TheJerbol Oh really? Feel free to explain what you think I missed.
@@LordVolkov That even the worst people can be redeemed. Your biblical judgment rhetoric is tired and outdated
Vkunia "YIKES I sound like a scooby doo character" also Vkunia dressed like Velma.
38:52 Amazing how Giancarlo Esposito gets to be in all these shows. From Breaking Bad to The Mandalorian to The Boys. Such an amazing actor.
And always playing the same character
@@georgezee5173 It's a real issue with some actors that grow big doing a specific role and then get cast for basically that same role over and over again. Rowan Atkinson is a very good example of that. Incredibly talented actor but the majority of people will only know him as Mr. Bean or somewhat similar silly roles.
You're a bit hard on Hughie. Remember, he never wanted to use Starlight from the beginning. Butcher kept pushing him into it. And Hughie wasn't strong enough to just say no. He felt a duty to take down Vought because of what happened to Robin as Butcher kept pushing him to use Starlight as he was making a real connection with Starlight. In an ideal world, he would have been strong enough to do the right thing, but part of Hughie's character arc is learning true strength and doing what he knows is right even if it goes against what other people want.
Literally every time he uses Annie he does so after seeing Robin, which pushes him to move forward, against his better judgement. Right until he kisses Annie instead, which IIRC was the last time he saw Robin. So that's the moment he makes the turn-around. He didn't really lie that much to Annie though, he primarily avoided the truth. But hey, she also sided with Amber in Invincible...
@@Dark__Thoughtsshe sided with amber? Are you kidding me?
@@franciskaranja9293Go back to her reaction of it. She seemed like she was against amber. I don't know what these people are saying.
@@franciskaranja9293 I wish I was...
The hate for Hughie and not understanding his character made this unwatchable sadly, had to shut it off and turn off notifications.
Same. I could not get through more than 15 minutes.
Same yeah, she has it so twisted in her mind that it’s almost like she’s following a completely different story to literally everybody else. Shit off half way through and won’t watch anymore
You may not like Huey and Annies chemistry but you gotta love Frenchie and kimikos bond I think they are adorable 🥰
If I have to hear one more time about Huey and Annie’s “lack of chemistry,” lol. 😅
I thought yall were exaggerating saying she hates Hughie but straight off the rip, she was calling him a POS😂
I'm surprised by the Hughie hate. Hughie and Annie are basically the same down to Erf type of person that got their lives messed up by Compound V. Their character arcs were planned out for multiple seasons.
Fun fact, season 2 takes the series up to 11 and you realize that season 1 was actually just warming up on level 2.
And then there is season 3
If Hughie didn't enter Starlight's life she would have stayed a puppet to Vought. Yes his methods were dirty, but they had to be to take down a company as powerful as Vought. And his intention was never initially to involve Starlight, he did genuinely care about her and felt a connection. But when Butcher introduced the idea of using her to get at Vought it was too valuable of an opportunity to pass up. Yes it sucks, but it had to he done to make any actual progress with taking down Vought. It could be argued that Hughie should have told her the truth earlier on if he really does care about her, but it's sorta difficult to tell someone that you murdered her co-worker and plan on taking down the company that she works for. Hughie doesn't feel good about any of the shit he's done and he's being manipulated by Butcher just as Butcher was manipulated by Mallory.
VoughtKunia over here hating on Hughie while sympathizing with Deep and Homelander? Some hot takes here 😂
The way you feel about Hughie and Starlight, is how a great many people feel about Mark and Amber. lol.
Eh, I think Amber wasn't so bad until she gaslighted and guilt tripped Mark for being a freaking superhero.
But yeah, her siding with Amber... Kinda seems to be a pattern here...
@@Dark__Thoughts Well when you consider that Amber wasn't even remotely interested in Mark until her friend said that Mark got beaten up "defending" HER and those were literally her first words to him "so I heard you took a punch for me?" That's a clear indication of a narcissist. Mark as a person was irrelevant to her. She wanted a dog on a leash to validate her importance.
I totally feel the chemistry between the two they are great actors
JESUS, you hate Hughie, WE GET IT!
If Huey bothers you than you have other issues.
I had similar thinking at first about the Bought CEO having an attraction to Homelander but when I start thinking about how she treats him and HIS character flaws, I came to realize that she's just stroking his ego, to pacify him. Having her show attraction is exactly the simple manipulation his ego will fall for. Until reality checks in and he understands what's going on. He's so intent on having the perfect image that when others react in accord with that perception he gets easily manipulated. I mean, just look at how Maeve plays him.
Flattery is the way into Homelander's good graces, but he's also a lie detector, so... good luck 👍 😅
@@LordVolkov Is he REALLY though?? OR is he just EFFING crazy, people know this so when he stares someone down THEY just get intimidated?? I'm more inclined to go with option B rather than accept that he's an actual lie detector. I just think that he knows Bullshit when he's hearing it and it's not more than that.
I really don't see how you say they don't have chemistry, they make a great couple. Did he lie to her? Sure. Does that mean he doesn't care about her also? Absolutely not. I think your tunnel visioning on one act and letting that color your perception of him while ignoring how good he actually is
Anthony starr really does play an amazing role as homelander
I almost forgot how 'genuinely' friendly and welcoming he is in the Christmas flashback
They don't have chemistry?
Really?🤨
Same way a pal wouldnt wiv a pokemans
Simon pegg low key doing great side character acting man. He's capable of serious acting when the opportunity comes.
41:21 The way he just casually explained how A-Train ran through Robin on his way to make Kimiko a Supe, but also there is no counterfeit Compound V
You really hate Hughie.... lol
"Post-coital pizza rolls" is the name of my prog-rock cover band.
have you stopped watching this show?
Why does she hate Hughie so much lol. Never seen so much unprovoked hatred for a character...
Deep with the grocery store lobster is one of my favourite scenes in the whole show for some reason. He thinks he's going to do this guy a solid and just gets instantly killed 🤣
Everything The Deep touches turns to 💩
Hold on a minute. Why were you mad a Hughie in the boys for lying to Starlight but upset at Amber for being upset at Invincible lied to her? Make it make sense.
How can you hate on hughie hes clearly one of the nicest persons on the show
Why do you hate Hughie so much? you have to understand where he is coming from. Hughie got roped into this crazy mess because he originally just wanted to do what was right for Robin, and then he was already too deep in the mess when he started to get feelings for starlight. their relationship is very understandably strained, but how can you not root for him when he is fighting an evil corporation and starlight is the one who was originally on the wrong side until she saw the truth.
You feel bad for homelander and hate hughie for ""LYING ""
I love that the actors for the 2 biggest and best characters (Butcher & Homelander) in this show are from my country New Zealand ☺
Mesmer sees a dead person (himself) 😂
Thinking the exact same thing 😂😂
bro there has to be some personal experience V has had in the past thats hitting a nerve with her hughie takes, im baffled.
I really think you're sympathizing with quite a few of the wrong people, and going WAY too hard on the singular person who is probably the most redeemable out of them all
I was a little sad to see Elisabeth Shue, I found her character, interesting and fun, at least I got to enjoy her for as long as I did
39:18 I "Someone needs to run this shit show, when I move to Belize" OMG I just caught this reference!
FYI It's a Breaking Bad reference, to Mike and the discussion about Hank between Saul & Walter
The Hughie hate is CRAZY
This is fiction and Hughie is dealing with extreme situation but how can he be a red flag kind of guy. Might be why women can't find a "good" guy. 😀
How V's mind works: I don't like hughie on the outside so he's 100% not compatible with starlight
lol I was thinking the same. I get not liking Hughie he’s done dumb things, but to say they don’t have chemistry is wild lol
@@_TYE_ If hughie was played by brad pitt V would love him and say "wow hughie and starlight have so much chemistry together"
@@brainer5457why is this true 💀
@@brainer5457 lmaoo the Jack Quaid hate is insane. People really hate Nepo babies😭😭
They absolutely have chemistry. I can see how it's up for debate at the end of Season 1 what will happen but they definitely genuinely like each other. Let it go dude, being wrong is allowed.
Wow, only one who don’t like them together or Hughie out of the reactors
Everyone's opinion about a character is going to be different.
I think you greatly misunderstood Hughie.
Awesome storylines, huh? I have to admit I am one of those saps that see a LOT of chemistry between Hughie and Annie, right from the start. He had already been sucked into the world of treachery and lies, but Annie was on her own path to the same swamp, she just didn't know it. They still are who they are at the core, all the tactical stuff notwithstanding. Everyone here is a victim, all are sympathetic in some way because of it, and most are also despicable in a few or many ways. And of course their dynamic inflicts so much civilian and non-super collateral damage its amazing.
what the hell, you like deep more than hughie :D I definitely did not expect that :D
She's got to get off the Hughie hate at this point it's annoying. She seems like the person that hears one side of a story and runs with it.
Talking about judging someone unnecessarily...
@@TheJerbol Really? Have you watched the entire reaction? Not just Hughie but Maeve, Butcher, Hughies dad there is a lot of judgment showing.
@@lycusx My comment wasn't about her reaction, it was more the irony of your point in the context of the scene
@@TheJerbol oh OH! 😂😂😂😂😂 okay. I'm still waiting to her reaction to you know who in season 2 🌩
I've never seen someone THIS obsessed with Hughie.
She hates Hughie but she feels bad for freaking Homelander and The Deep? WTF? lol
I mean feeling bad for HL and deep is normal but yea her hating on hughie is weird
Hughie is the one that got everyone into this mess in the first place
@@Electrifize You mean when his girlfriend was brutally murdered and Butcher recruited HIM?
@@7felipe14 You're saying this as if Butcher forced him to be a part of The Boys, Hughie willingly joined when he heard he can get his revenge on his girlfriends killer. Also, Butcher was doing his work completely undercover without having so much of a risk about Homelander knowing his work until Hughie made an obvious relationship with Starlight
Hughie was a character that the nerds can relate to
🤓🤓🤣
"Such a great father.". Are you forgetting or ignoring the fact that he essentially wanted Hughie to settle for money because HE wanted it. It always amazes me when family finds out you come into money and act entitled to some of it.
A lot of people have this stance on Hughies dad, which is insane to me LOL like okay he does MEAN well and he does love his son, but he was SO content with calling his own son spineless, and that he can’t do anything, which frustrates me so much as someone who wants to be a dad. I can’t imagine putting my own blood down like that emotionally when he believes in himself enough to do the right thing, like decline hush money.
@@VidsfromBelring Yeah, that was the point I was trying to make. Just because he thought it was a lot of money and that he could "persuade" Hughie to use it to help out, be resorted to putting his son down and essentially call him a coward. He wasn't thinking it was a lot of money for Hughie, but for himself. And now suddenly A-Train is there in front of him and he NOW believes Hughie was telling the truth?? He was perfectly fine excepting the BS that Bought was telling the public before; but now suddenly he's "afraid' of A-Train?? So MOW he's a good father??
@@patrickcromwell7554 exactly I don’t understand how people can call him a good dad 😭 he’s alright in the seasons after this but tbh I think it’s bc he gets less screen time. I guess he’s present in his life so that’s one positive but coming from someone who grew up without their father, I’d rather not keep contact with someone who thought so little of me.
@@VidsfromBelring Yeah, I agree with that. There is one aspect that maybe reinforces the father's pitting Hughie down and that's the fact that Hughie still lives in his father's home. But when you are born in a house and that is generally going to be generational still being there isn't that off. Personally I would have told Bough to add a few more "zero's" at the end. lol. Know what I mean. If they want to buy my acquiescence, then they'll damn well PAY for it. What was it they offered Hughie?? $75,000. To be honest I can't remember the exact amount, but I would not have stopped until I had scored in the hundred millions. lol. But that's me; I'm greedy like that. lol.
been watching you for a week now. i love how you edit your videos compared to other reaction youtubers. even though i havent seen these shows in years it feels like we're watching the whole episode together.
In regards to Homelander being able to piece togeather the puzzles of Becca and his son. Though he does seem naive and a little like a "himbo" at times, that's due to the very fucked up life he lived and the powers and fame he lives with. Just like how Superman doesn't always come off as the brains of the outfit, especially when compared to Batman. He's just a goody two shoes farmboy.. However, in both cases their minds would be capable of working at speeds thousands of times faster than a normal humans and they are both in fact extremely intelligent.
Even the worst sups have a slither of humanity in them. It gets much crazier in the next 2 seasons, this was just a warm up.
Idc what anyone says homelander is the best character in the show and Anthony Starr is phenomenal in that role
take a shot everytime she says "disgusting"
Insane to me she shows THE FUCKING DEEP of all people more understanding than hughie
It's funny because for most people Hughie/Annie are the most wholesome and 'safe' part of this show lol
I’ve watched The Boys several times, and Butcher has always had some sort of familiarity to me. Just this video, I realized what it was when Mothers Milk’s wife slaps Butcher. Some of his mannerisms and speech is reminiscent of Captain Jack Sparrow.
I will not stand by your Hughie slander! He’s a gentle boy in over his head.
She's trying too hard to not see Annie and Hughie together.
Hates Huey for lying to Starlight but feels sorry for the Deep who SA'd Starlight... makes sense. 😂
“Im not trying to sound like a Scooby Doo character” she says while dressed like Velma
Hughie and Annie are one of the most wholesome sub stories in this show... surprised at how untrusting you are haha oh well... I can understand being on edge about any character
38:52 I had the same reaction😂 I love the actor and I was so surprised to see him
Well that was annoying, could not make it to the end.😂😂😂
I think there’s some extreme bias against Hughie. I mean of course he lied to starlight about being an insider for the boys but he genuinely loves and cares about her, more than I argue anyone in the series. He respects her enough to be her own woman and stand up for herself, even before he knew she was a supe. That’s more than even her own mother. And let’s not forget the entire reason he was using her for info in the first place is because of Butcher. He is the one who wanted to use them both for his little revenge scheme. Hughie is far from a perfect person but your criticisms of him are VERY misplaced.
You're the only reactor I've seen who hates Hughie in The Boys and hate Armin in Attack on Titan.
I like Hughie and Annie. I am glad you react Season 1 and hope you react Season 2.
Homelander never had a chance
I'm so happy comment section is full for Hughie, poor Hughie the situations made him do it, truth to be said he is the only one who cares about starlight, even her own mom don't give two sh*ts, and its big that he cares, he is worried he shouldn't be because she is a superhero there is nothing gonna happen to her still he gets worried, I'm so sad V said those things about Hughie😢😢😤
There was absolutely no women and children in that drug den. 🤣
Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that lol
The happiness when VKunia uploads a video when reacting to a show you love is crazy
I never noticed the title of E7, so had to look it up.
It is apparently a reference to the 1969 British comedy crime caper movie, "The Italian Job".
The main song in the movie has the line This is the Self-preservation Society" in the chorus, written by Quincy Jones for the movie.
There was definitely a lot of projection going on from V this episode. Yeesh... She's super judgy and straight up mean.
I can hardly wait for you to start season 2!
I was surprised that Hughie didn't let A-Train die when he had a heart attack, plus seeing Homelander reveal the monster behind that pretty boy mask he wore. it was intense and exciting to see the true Homelander come to the surface in the end.
Okay look I just need to defend Ohio on one thing, this state actually *does* have arguably the best collection of rollercoasters in the world, right up in Sandusky
I appreciate you and thank you for making content.
39:16 Lol Belize this must be a Breaking Bad reference right? That's where Saul suggested sending Hank and Jesse..
The Deep is such a well written character, it's almost testing if the viewer is a hypocrite. What he's done is awful, but also what was done to him is awful.. If the viewer cheers when it happens to him, its low key calling them out lol
the old Problem - Reaction - Solution works again.
4:22 AH man, I Love it! 1 of the main scumbags being banished to SeaWorld in Sandusky 😐💯🤣
I remember watching this when it came out with all my friends on my projector, all thos years ago 🥺
you disliking hughie more than literal rapists is wild
i love the (weak) expression of "feeling dirty" that the boys presents
that was the Deep going through the same emotions as any person who had just been violated
it was a weak expression.....but, it was that expression
Wow, I feel like you're unreasonably harsh on Hughie. Not sure why. It's a bit offputting. I'm pretty sure most ppl wouldn't handle his chain of events very much better.
About Stillwells “relationship “ with Homelander. Stillwell understands that Homelander is an existential threat to the entire world. There is no physical way to restrain him should he simply decide to start wiping people, cities and countries off the map. She understands he’s a malignant narcissist and a sociopath and would wipeout the planet if he wanted to
The only controls she has over him are his mommy issues and his unending need to be loved. So she manipulates his need to be loved to keep his damage to a minimum (and make billions in the process).
With her dead it’s not clear who is going to have much control over him next season.
I enjoy your reactions... I think if you toned down the overacting they would be better tho.
I saw Giancarlo Esposito (Gus/Mr Edgar) at Awesome Con. He was amazing. Told so many inspiring and funny stories.
when stand said when he move to belize .. is that a call back to breaking bad 😂
hey V,
cool to see you on the Poppies
Before Starlight, Hughie would have been within his rights to want all of the Seven dead. Everything happened very quickly. And Translucent would have just doubled back invisibly and killed Hughie. That was self defense. So go easy on Hughie
