I live and work in this part of Idaho and since you were there that fire has burned more than 112,000 acres and is still burning. Many volunteer fire departments from small towns in Idaho have been on the fire to help protect homes and businesses. My brother and nephew are on our local volunteer fire Department (Richfield ID) and volunteered their time for several days on that fire. So far no one has been hurt and they are lifting evacuations as the fire is now burning in the forest and will most likely burn until snow falls. The fire is called the Wapiti Fire. Please be safe out on the road and I hope you love our state of Idaho as much as I do! Cheers...
Firefighters from Idaho assisted our firefighters here in Oregon at the Durkee fire. 450,000 acres were burned caused by lightning. We people in rural areas are always at risk from Mother Nature but mostly from man.
My wife and I were sitting in the RV watching this video tonight and when Sondra said "It is a good thing he is wearing orange so the search team and helicopters can find him" we both cracked up! Great video! Sad about the wildfires but the vegetation will grow back. We do pray that the Lord protected the wildlife.

As a solo female camper in a tent trailer I would pay for the campsite. Having pit toilets and other people around are necessary to feel comfortable. Sondra you make me laugh as I do everything to avoid seeing a bear. 😂
Sondra you are braver than me. There’s no way I would have crawled under the tree and then dragged the bikes. I would have left the bikes and walked. And I’m still very active for being 65. Once again, thanks for the scenery. My husband was trying to get my attention and I said to him, hey I’m in busy, I’m in Idaho. 😅
Interesting video. You probably have one of these maps. It's called a motor carriers Road Atlas. It shows all highways and the road atlas will show whether the roadway is suitable for travel with a big truck. The atlas has maps for all fifty states and Canada and Mexico. There is lots of great information such as low over passes and much more information. The pages are laminated. Generally all truck stops or major travel centers have these road atlas publications. Each year a new edition is published and the last copy I purchased was last year and the price was around fifty dollars. It takes all of the guess work out of whether a high way is suitable for travel with a big rig. National Park and National Forest and BLM managed lands have many recreational opportunities. The western states are definitely my favorite places.
We love you guys! And we don’t even have an RV or camp in tents anymore! We recently watched your videos back to back!! Now--We look forward to following you weekly along the way! You both seem like sweet, kindred spirits to me!! 🙂

I was going to camp near crater lake, OR a couple of weeks ago. Every side road was blocked by security guards and there were a couple of huge fire camps.
I enjoyed it. 😊 Sondra glad you are okay. Hate the wildlife wasn’t showing out for you but they will soon. Hated to see the wildfires. So sad. Alabama has been dry but hopefully we won’t see fires.
Loved the video. Great effort to go this hill from the waterfall up and still show from 2 different angles, great! Idaho is so nice. We are RVing in Michigan right now, soon the fall colors will be spectacular. Safe travels, great video content!
What an awesome boondocking spot! The waterfall was well worth the hike (at least for you David) not sure if I would have :-). Those power actuators would really come in handy - I am sure you think of that everytime you have to climb that ladder. Sorry Sondra about the fall - blame it on David for dragging you on that trail! Safe travels you two!
Glad you enjoyed it...hey! Don't blame it on me! 😆 😆 waterfall was cool. Steep hike for sure! I hope we can work out a few details on the actuators specs. Thanks

Your trip timing was very fortunate, a lot of not everything your experienced is gone with the horrendous fires that struck our state. We probably won't see it again in our life time.😢
Early June my wife and I saw a Buck Antelope at your campsite. Stanley Lake has lots of memories... It's our family's main camping spot. I make many trips to Stanley yearly. The Wapiti fire has ruined so many camp spots and life long memories. sad... Our family camped there in June and went up to Kalispell Montana and visited Whitefish and Glacier. In mid - August we were camping Riggins, Moscow and Post Falls. I have been to those falls many times... Thanks for sharing... loved your vlog. Loved watching your Idaho series as I've been to most of those area's and have jet boated most of the Salmon and Snake. Be safe on those trails... I use my Trek Powerfly mtn bike and still crash (with helmet on...) sometimes...part of the experience. Between your camp spot and Stanley lake boat ramp we also saw a wolverine! also in June. When you hike hope you bring pepper spray. Your videos are great! Be safe! Mike
@@bigtruckbigtravels I repowered a shipment. The moose antler marks were imprinted on both a pillars. The fiberglass hood radiator and all accessories were missing from the block. Only the timing cover remained. The operator and co driver were still in the hospital a week later. Those trucks were governed at 65 miles per hour. Its been a few decades since but I do remember it was said they hit the moose at Express way speed. Probably 65 mpg. No moose bumper.

I enjoyed it. 😊 Sondra glad you are okay. Hate the wildlife wasn’t showing out for you but they will soon. Hated to see the wildfires. So sad. Alabama has been dry but hopefully we won’t see fires.
Thanks, Larissa. Huntsville has been hot this summer. A fire would not be good.
Love the show, we've had many road trips in America by car mainly the west coast, but we would have loved the camper life, keep it coming...
Thanks, Gary. Out west is gorgeous and we'll start exploring more eastward in the coming years... after a little more south!
Idaho has geothermal springs all over. In fact, some of the buildings in Boise are heated that way.
Wow, Sherry, that is sooo cool! Did not know that. Thanks
Glad you are safe.
Thank you. Us too!
Loved the video. Great effort to go this hill from the waterfall up and still show from 2 different angles, great! Idaho is so nice. We are RVing in Michigan right now, soon the fall colors will be spectacular. Safe travels, great video content!
Glad you enjoyed it! Michigan is next year for us. Enjoy the colors. Thanks for watching
Thanks
A great video as always. You guys are so much fun. So sad about the fire. That is such a beautiful area.
Thank you very much. Beautiful area but sad about the fires.
Outstanding trip! Love it. Taking the bikes under that log was very hard. Wow thanks for doing an excellent trip again
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you taking the time to watch the channel. 😊
Nice video and
Views before the fire
Thanks. Probably the last shots....sad.
Funny
I went all day working thinking it was Wednesday. Got home turned on UA-cam wow it's Thursday
Surprise 😮!!! Hope it was a good surprise !
Interesting to watch, thanks. 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it, Steven. Thanks for watching
When I delivered for Frito lay I was given a route so the bags wouldn't pop at 8,000 feet or above.
One time I wished I had an altimeter..( in a Freightliner)
LOL...that's good. Interesting that they were concerned about that. Good to know.
Another great video. You guys are amazing. Safe travels.
Thanks so much! We appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
Thanks for sharing😊😊😊
You're welcome. Thanks for watching the channel.
Your trip timing was very fortunate, a lot of not everything your experienced is gone with the horrendous fires that struck our state. We probably won't see it again in our life time.😢
Thanks, Tom. We definitely had great timing for a terrible occurrence. It will be years before it comes back. Sad 😔
Waterfall was worth it, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it and so worth it!
Another Beautiful Park, So sad that it was burned down , Not unlike our Beautiful Jasper National Park
Thanks, Kelly. We are sick about Jasper. We traveled through there last year on our return from Alaska. Gorgeous area.
Love y’all’s videos!! Doris & Doug Chattanooga Tennessee
That's very nice, Doris & Doug. We really appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
Hello to both of you ❤❤❤❤ Love Lisa
Hi, Lisa Ann! Glad you are along on the journey each week!
@@bigtruckbigtravels those fires are deadly in America. Love Lisa
Thank you for sharing your travels, never boring, stay safe, love your choices of music too 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Another great video Blessings ❤
Thank you very much. Appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
Yes i'm the one who actually prefers the relaxed videos, so this was great for me...
Glad you enjoyed it! Whew! Because it was a relaxing week for us.
Love your videos!!
Thank you, Dale. We appreciate your time watching the channel. ☺️
Be safe!
Mike
Thanks, Mike. We've really enjoyed the travels this summer.
Great place to have a burley full face moose bumper!
OH yeah. Don't you know it!
You had a much better Mountain View than the ones by the lake.
We definitely think so.
THE DEER THAT WAS AWESOME !!!!
Pretty cool! Love how they bound around.
I enjoy traveling with you guys!! You are so much fun! Y’all be safe out there!
Thanks so much, Marian. Glad to have you along on the journey. 😊
What a wonderful time camping Love tge views and bike ride to see the lake and falls
Thanks, Debra. We loved our campsite!
41:11 wow wow wee. So worth the hike
Oh... it was!
Hello! We were camped right behind you in our 45 foot toyhauler, we watched you drive off on
Saturday and we were evacuated on Tuesday Morning.. As we awoke to having Ash on everything! So Sad.......
No way! That is so sad but glad you guys are ok.
Such a beautiful area…. Sondra impressive hook up … so much thought and planning goes into these destinations and the work involved in sharing them with us all ….truly appreciated… stay blessed
Our pleasure, Isabella! We're excited to have you along on the journey and glad you enjoyed it. 😊
I call you adventurous that's what I call you. Have fun with your adventures.
Thank you, Marcia! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Beautiful scenery as usual, living vicariously through you nuts🤣God Bless you 💕🙏
Glad you enjoyed it and I guess we just "crack" you up!
My dad his grandma and grandad lived in salmon. I lived there as a child. I remember the hot springs and the road you guys are on in that area. Was home to me at one time.
That's very cool. Beautiful area to grow up. ❤️
Looks like you have not found too much smoke yet. Here in Central Oregon the smoke from wildfires is unhealthy. It is hard to find a place with clean air this week.
Sorry to hear that. It's no fun. We've had a few days this summer like that but we've been fortunate.
Such a terrible shame that the fires have destroyed so much of the area. Another great week of travel! Thanks for sharing! Safe traveling!
Thanks for watching! It's terrible for sure. We're glad we got to see it when we did.
