I do wish you had mentioned that running a 3rd-party filament through the machine voids the Extruder's warranty right away. I found that little tid-bit within the Dremel's 3d printer FAQ, and even emailed them and they confirmed it for me. It's rather disappointing, since I'd love to try out some other 3rd party filaments in it, but having just sunk $1800 into this machine, I'm not about to throw the warranty out the window.

The best part of this printer is that you can use the fan in the back to vent fumes and particles outside your house. I believe this will be a standard in the future.

My monitor squeaks on its support foot, glasses jingle, tall furniture produces small creaking sounds etc. I could limit large prints for Sundays (less heavy trains), but 3D printers are costly and I don't want to risk that prints will be damaged too often.
Ever since it was built. The structure was designed to withstand the shakes without damaging the walls. 50 years and no cracks at all. It's like a train station building. They don't fall apart either. If I had to print for 4 hours straight there is a big chance for at least one heavy train go by. I am almost positive it would damage the prints.

Yes, use less retraction with all metal hotends. Like 3.5mm or less for Bowden, and 2.5 or less for direct. Otherwise the hot filament gets pulled back into the heatsink, cools, and jams everything up.
Thanks for the review, I'm pretty new to 3D printing and it hard to find good reviews on the multitudes of printers out there. But wow, some of these comments, if you thought console fanboys were lame just wait until you see 3d printer fanboys. Yikes.

Not a fan of Dremel. Too closed. I'm more like an open hardware+software type of guy. I mean, can you even use non-dremel filaments on this one? I might have missed it.
no problem with the super-slow touch screen then? Likely under-specd cpu, cloud-joke printing (come on, you need to Stand By the machine to glue-stick the bed and check filament moisture) - what do Dremel say if you're not using their branded RFID packs and it fails? And it's a HUGE box, with no more build volume than an Ender2 - which also gives awesome quality right out of the box... now think hard, are you absolutely sure this is a fair and unbiased review?
@@pdjames1729I agree with you on bang for the buck. The screen isn't slow. It "times out" the ability to select things in certain menus until the printer has completed an operation. Like after filament detection fails (happens using 3rd party) it moves the carriage from the loading position to park. The button to enter custom filament lights up after it parks and is selectable. It is super aggravating waiting 10 sec for no reason.
For that price why are they using glue sticks for plate adhesion? Isn't a heated surface enough to hold onto the plastic? So with all the stringing that these different types of 3D printers make how about a nice scary spider web with Giant African Spiders, Brown Recluse Spiders, D&D style Spider, and classic 1950s monster Spider that have captured a number of prey / victims. Including bidpeds who are encased in the web or wrapped in a cocoon pleading for their freedom. It would make an authentic looking piece if it scaled up to human or larger proportions for a Halloween build :)
So you could get 9 Ender 3's for that price. Or get 5 Ender 3's and use the rest of the cash to upgrade the heck out of them with better boards and webcams and bed leveling.
@@riffraff60 thats just product suicide to force you to buy specific more expensive products, when there are printers that can offer similiar without the limitations. There are options to input plastic type, temperature and any other necessary information. You dont need to use the RFID, its similiar to a QR code to quickly input information.
Warranty is woided for every crap, it has RFID meaning 3rd party filaments are a no go unless you wind them on Dremel spools, it doesnt have a proper build platform (i mean a fucking gluestick on a 1800$ machine) even my 400$ Tevo Flash will have one and it doesnt have auto bed leveling. If I priced this based on the features its pretty much a crappy Tarantula for roughly 250$. The enclosure costs a lot.

no problem with the super-slow touch screen then?
I believe using 3rd party filaments voids the warranty. Wanted this printer but decided that using their filament alone wasn't for me.
It would make an authentic looking piece if it scaled up to human or larger proportions for a Halloween build :)
thank you
It would be cool if you made yourswlf with this printer like in the thumbnail
Can you create a name with it?
Nice thumbnail XD
A good product. In 2015.

How to learn 3d printing
So you could get 9 Ender 3's for that price. Or get 5 Ender 3's and use the rest of the cash to upgrade the heck out of them with better boards and webcams and bed leveling.
Or just get one Ender 3 and have a bunch of money 😝
RFID chip so they can force users to only buy their (more expensive) filament.
RFID is optional, so is cloud connection
@@Someone-cb3zx for now.
@@riffraff60 thats just product suicide to force you to buy specific more expensive products, when there are printers that can offer similiar without the limitations. There are options to input plastic type, temperature and any other necessary information. You dont need to use the RFID, its similiar to a QR code to quickly input information.
i lke the preiview in the TFT, but other than that i dont see anything special.
Hm. Nice enough, but it costs four times more than it should
I have the 3d20. I hate it, but I got it for free. It's 800 bucks
1800 $ Holly Molly O_O
Warranty is woided for every crap, it has RFID meaning 3rd party filaments are a no go unless you wind them on Dremel spools, it doesnt have a proper build platform (i mean a fucking gluestick on a 1800$ machine) even my 400$ Tevo Flash will have one and it doesnt have auto bed leveling. If I priced this based on the features its pretty much a crappy Tarantula for roughly 250$. The enclosure costs a lot.
Use the 3d printer 101 hero
mmmmmmmmmmmmm clickbait thumbnail.............. delicious
1800, Carl, 1800...
I can start my own sex shop business..
Ikr that much money and you still have to do gluestick
What 1000 dollars for this
