I'll never get over how much I love seeing that Toby brings you stray eggs he finds lol. Not even directly to you, he just puts them somewhere he knows you'll notice. He could eat them! Free snack! But no, he brings them to you. What a guy.

Another pet channel had one of those boxes. The cat came to mom complaining loudly then led her mom to the cat box. It had gotten jammed by a cat toy inside so wasn't working. The cat wanted mom to fix it, which she did. Smart cat

Morgan has done amazingly well regarding the cattle given that they were basically feral this time last year. The cats are certainly looking well. I’ll be still got some growing and filling out to do. Mentally and physically. Certainly having her spayed was the best decision he made given her temperament & medical issues.

While cleaning a litter box is no fun, it does give you a change to monitor your cat’s wastes. My cat is currently recovering from a case of irritable bowel syndrome and monitoring the amount, frequency and consistency of her poop is important. That being said, we had an automatic litter box for a cat about 15 years ago. Worked great, scooping about ten minutes after she left the box. One day she managed to pee on the little door that covered the circuit board and fried it. After that the box would scoop every ten minutes whether she had used it or not. She never went near it again.

Make a board with measurements with two stakes on each end, planted in the field, then when Kurt walks in front of it you will have a video of it and you will be able to measure it. That's how they measure fish sometimes, they swim in front of it and then freeze frame and look at it. 🤙✌️

Hey Morgan, about the new hoop coop. I read from a few commenters that part of why it broke wasn't actually the wind, but a combination of the cold and the wind. Meaning it might be better to invest in a different material as cover for it when the time comes to install it. Plastic can become very brittle in freezing temps. I haven't seen you mention or acknowledge this in the vids, so I just wanted to mention it once more.

For the cow hair fibers, you could actually sell them online for people that like to weave and wind their own yarns! My friends' mom uses an old fashioned spool to spin yarn from all sorts of animal hair, and she's told me that there are entire communities that will pay money for the naturally brushed/shed hair of various animals, so maybe you could look into that. I also know of a few artists that work with sculptures and even paints that are always looking for natural and ethically sourced materials like that for their projects- so there's a market somewhere for it, I'm sure!

The biggest problem I have had with those rotating drum litter boxes, is they end up sliding all the poop/pee around on the inside where some of it gets stuck on the drum. You'll end up needing to scrape and wipe down the inside of the drum. Still an improvement over scooping for sure. I ended up getting a Cat Genie which has worked out AMAZING. It's pretty much set and forget with maybe once a month cleaning. Cleaning just entails taking the thing outside and giving it a good deep cleaning. The big downside is it needs to be connected to water and a drain and sounds like a garbage disposal when it runs.

We moved from the farm when I was five so my knowledge comes from my Dad's stories. He said over the years as he raised the cows (40 head) from birth they would do as he asked. Once one gave birth next to the bank of the Platte River. The calf rolled down the bank and cow was bawling for her calf. My dad climbed down the bank, picked up calf and started to climb back up. The calf started to bawl which attracted the attention of the bull who started to charge. My Dad said he hollered "Prince, go to the barn". Dad said Prince skidded to a stop at the top of the bank, blinked his big eyes, turned and walked toward the barn!

We used to have the litter robot 3 connect. My only tips are:
    - jiggle the drawer to get another few uses out of your bag, ours always just dumped on the left side of the drawer
-make sure she doesn’t get too fat; our biggest cat is 25lbs (overweight, he is on a diet and has an exercise wheel) and he ended up not fitting well and got litter all up the back of his butt and back of legs
-get replacement bags off Amazon!!!! They’re so much cheaper
-sprinkle litter deodorizer in the drawer and a little bit in the space pod itself (arm and hammer makes a great one)
    Happy litter robotting!

@@HELENGodLoves our big boy is skittish so it took quite a while. We started slow with a laser pointer getting on the wheel and letting him hop off. Then we slowly introduced more time and movement on the wheel. We started with light rocking, and worked our way up at his pace to where he’s comfortable enough to walk on it. He isn’t a fan but will do it if we tempt with a laser pointer or a greenie treat. One of our cats only runs on it when we are around it for attention since we are pro-positive reinforcement and she’s an attention hog lol the brand of ours is One Fast Cat

Most old animals have an instinct about hunting season, too. I don’t have a litter robot but something Morgan didn’t mention that I would like to highlight is these machines are also super useful for more closely monitoring the urinary output for cats. If you’ve owned a cat you know they are prone to kidney and urinary infections that can be very deadly to them. Early detection of worrying trends in that department might save your cat’s life especially since cats tend to hide illness by default as a way to avoid looking weak to predators.
Also love seeing the consideration for Lil’s potential fear of the litter robot. A lot of people don’t realize how scent comforted cats are. Switching boxes cold turkey can result in peeing outside the box as a form of anxious scent marking.

If you're looking to measure Curt Cobain's horns you could put a yardstick down near some treats. When he bends down to eat the treat you can get a photo and measure from there. If he's not treat driven, maybe a yardstick on the water trough with a videocamera set on it would be able to catch horn width while he drinks.

She mostly looks like that due to the fact that she was spayed early. Dogs who are spayed early don’t usually grow a full adult coat because they don’t have all the hormones they would if they matured unaltered. Toby for example is not neutered snd he has a very full mature coat. Abby could still get a little fuller but she also may not. Nothing wrong with Morgan’s decision though he is his dog and he knows what’s best for her.

@@jaidensjungle2309 I know what you mean. We just adopted a dog from the pound and the spay and neuter all dogs and cats, before being put up for adoption. They start at 6 weeks and I understand why they do it, but our new 4 month puppy is a bigger dog, with these long lanky legs (which he trips over) and am wondering if he will ever grow into them. He is already 50lbs and looks skinny 😂 that is the only complaint I have about our human society, because it’s a no kill shelter and they really do keep the animals until they are adopted. Last dog we got from them was full grown and was the biggest dog (150lbs) and had been there 10 months. Oh, we specifically asked for the dog nobody wanted, we called him fluffy and he was the best dog ever.

It's easier than you think to train cats to use the toilet. I've saved thousands of dollars not having to buy cat litter, and of course, never having to clean a litter box is priceless!
