About Gold Shaw Farm: Gold Shaw Farm is more of a farm-in-progress than an honest-to-goodness farm. Our dream is that someday we are able to transform our 150+ acre parcel of land into a regenerative and productive homestead and farm.
For the wobbly chick - stuff some paper towels in the very bottom of the glass so it looks like a nest. Then, place your spraddle legged chick inside the glass. The chick is nestled into a standing position by the sides of the glass and the paper towel. Obviously, the chick will want to pop out of the glass, so it will push and push with it’s legs to get over the edge. This strengthens the legs while they are in the proper position. Leave in for an hour or so your chick then does its own Physical Therapy.
Good to see Allison enjoying the babies!
Baby birds are her favorite!
@@GoldShawFarm They are precious!
@@GoldShawFarm That's what she said! Sorry Morgan had to do it hehe
@@martinmp23ify Hahaha - well, that's kind of an odd association, but I'll take it!
These little chicks are adorable! It's great to see Allison too. She is so cute with the babies. Such a great duckling mama teaching the kids to swim. It's pretty amazing that they can swim so soon.
Whoever said you are not a farmer should reevaluate their definition because many of your videos show it. This one especially. Over the years your progress has grown beautifully 🙂
Haters gonna hate. Imagine wasting finite life on some stranger on the internet.
Thank you!!
What? He makes a living by raising animals. Is that not a farmer by definition? I get why you wouldn't call me a farmer, with 20 chickens and some potato growing but come on. What is a farmer then, if not this guy?
@@HolyPineCone Yes! We have chickens and sometimes sell their eggs for profit. Even though its not our main source of money, we still have friends and family that consider us farmers. Haters gunna hate
Morgan, I love the opening with Allison and the two ducklings in the mixing bowl. So sweet. What a hoot! I love that the music choosen was the "Skater's Waltz." Very appropriate. Your farming knowledge and skills are increasing exponentially. I can see why you choose farming as your life's work, and Allison choose to become a nurse practitioner. I call that a natural fit.
Did you say peas? Oh, boy! I can't wait to see that video!
The fact that you can just rotate your cows round the permaculture orchard is just so frickin cool. And now they come to your call?!? I love these videos, thanks Morgan.
There's another UA-camr, "A Chick Named Albert" who's a bird whisperer. I saw an episode where one of his chicks was wobbly and he put it in a sock to help it.
yes! i watch him all the time.
Oh he's great! And omg that's adorable 💕
Yup, he’s your man. Please give his channel a watch. X
He is such a sweet man. I adore his videos as well!
I was trying to remember how that was done & who's done it before.
LOVE how silly Allison is. Thanks for the videos as always, helping me feel at ease
Alison is the reluctant star of Gold Shaw Farm. With her disarming smile and expressive face, she could easily send the subscription base beyond 700K. Toby is starting to look better, that's encouraging. Molly's back in town, rodents don't you mess around, cause she's TNT!
Loved seeing Allison with the 2 headed monster! She sure looked so happy with them in all aspects from pouring the water in the bowl to drying them off. My favorite part of the video today.
She has a voice I could totally hear doing ASMR too-very melodic and soothing! ^--^ I don't know why, that just really stood out to me somehow.^-^
Ok.. hands down THE BEST INTRO EVER. I was having a bit of an off day, but Allison just made my day into absolute gold.
What I've found with hatching out chicks and turkey poults is that if you try to help them in hatching, they are very weak and usually don't make it. It's the struggle to get out of the egg that builds up their strength in the legs, wings, lungs, and heart. If it doesn't hatch out, it wasn't intended to make it and just suffers for several days instead of dying in one. Rarely does it go well. With ducklings, it isn't usually a strength issue, it's a humidity issue where the shell is just too hard because there wasn't enough humidity. So helping them tends to turn out differently. As humans, our urge is to help little weak creatures, so it's hard not to interfere, because it breaks our hearts not to.
Hi Morgan, that is a very good hatching rate. There is always a lot of activity on your farm. It's wonderful to see your farm grow. More Allison ♥️ Take care.
For your wobbly Chicken, I saw one method of curing a baby bird’s balance on another youtube channel, “A Chick Called Albert”. The method is that You take a small sock and place the bird in the sock, and let it sit overnight. It doesn’t have a 100% of working, but definitely worth a try.
Allison has a vibe of being absolutely full of this gentle, quiet kindness. 😍
I love the surprise guest, Allison! I hope she's getting plenty of downtime with the babies on the farm. Healthcare hasn't been kind, and it's so important everyone has a chance to decompress and recharge
Garden tour coming soon!
Morgan, you're becoming quite the experienced farmer. Nice to see Allison being visual as well. Love your 1920's areo-dynamics take on the cattle shade. Next wind storm will bring a flood of UFO enthusiasts to the farm. And I think your chicken tractor is a chicken Palace. Nice clean egg laying area. Yes, experience teaches !
We need more Alison!
The trick is more ducklings.😅
Subscribers riot in the streets, signs saying we love allison ❤

Yes, please.
Allison's adoration for those little ducklings made the video, and made my day. Thank you for providing so much inspiration, Morgan. You're the best.
You Don't Know the Power of the DuckSide....
Who can resist baby duckling's??? Cuteness Overload
Ducklings are cute but don’t we just love a better glimpse of Allison? What a stunner. Well done Morgan.
This was a rewarding video Morgan with show me to get the animals covered. It was so great to see the little ducklings are all doing well! Wonderful to see Molly barn cat is healing and able to go back outside!! I love the cattle are finally coming to you immediately when you call them and I love to see Abby running alongside you can you ride the gator how do you come back from the pasture. She is so happy when she’s out there with you and the cattle!! And I love that Allison put two little ducklings in a bowl and let them swim for the first time. It was really great to see her in this video😊♥️
I wonder if the weeds in your pasture might over run the grass growth at some point if the cattle don't eat the majority of them. Have you considered adding some goats or even sheep to follow the cattle and keep the weeds under control?
The cattle are good at trampling most of the stuff they won’t eat.
I would love to see some baby goats eventually ❤️🤟😎🤟
Yeah Allison, there u are ✌Still beautiful as the day we met u.
Love those babies!!
Great to see Allison in a video!
All the geese swarming into the nursery as soon as you opened it had me cracking up 🤣
I'm glad you mentioned you are thinking Abby should be going into heat soon, I've noticed Toby checking her/smelling around her vulva a lot more than I've ever seen him do in other videos!
When I volunteered in the waterfowl nursery section of a wildlife rehab, giving the week-old ducklings was one of the best parts of it. First, they're confused by it, but once they get into the water, they'll splash around until they were soaking wet and then go back under the heat lamp, then repeat. It was also a lot of fun watching them learn how to eat duckweed. Ducklings are just such fun little creatures.
I know Allison doesn’t like being on camera that much, but the videos she’s in are always my favourite! You’re extremely lucky to have such a kind, gentle soul for a wife:)
I love how happy Allison is with the ducklings. :-)
I couldn’t even tell you how awful of a mood I was in before clicking this video, now there is a lovely smile on my face. Thank you so much I truly owe you a million💛
Hi Allison so good to see you. Great video you two. It's funny that Toby dog was so dirty and Abby was relatively clean. Total switch
Allison is so beautiful and loving. You are blessed.
Great video. It's nice to see Allison with the babies...it seems that they are her favorite thing. Hope the little chick makes it, but nature has its own rules. Can't wait for the next installment of the happy Gold Shaw Farm animals.
The chicks scrum at the end there made me laugh! They are so funny and utterly adorable bless em! God bless you and your loved ones Morgan. Have a great day!
C'mon Allison. Don't be shy. We love seeing you. We know you work but we miss you sometimes. Can't wait for the garden tour. 🌶🫑🥒🥬🥦🥕🪴🌿☘️🍀
I took in a Silkie that had flat feet just like that she lived with us for 3 months. We gave her the best life made her a flat ramp to go in the coop made her special stuff so her life would be easier. Unfortunately I thinm her illness got the best of her and she passed away 😢 last week. Thanks for trying your best for that little one.
I LOVE your wife Morgan! Can we see more of her? 🤣🥰 Also I just got my second set of chicks at Tractor Supply in Hooksett (so not too far😅😉) and to my surprise the clerk and I both had your channel in common. She actually didn't know you were part of the reason they changed their Brooder boxes! I love your channel keep up the good work! You're the reason I have chicks, so there is that 💁♀️ insert GIF 🤣
Garden tour video with Allison is coming soon!
@@GoldShawFarm I look forward to a garden video with Allison 🥰 I would really appreciate it if you could explain how the heck out of the 7 chicks I got 5-6 roosters?! How do I know? They all crow 😅 Also if in a future video if you could maybe show simple ways to sex them when they're so young? This time when I went to pick up 6 more chicks the clerk said they were all females, I'm not sure how true that is, we shall see I suppose 😅💁♀️🤦♀️I need laying hens! How can I accomplish this? 😆
This vlog had a little of everything! I loved it! Thank you for sharing your animals and that bit with your wife 💚
Allison is so pretty!! Man, you better be good to her!! She's a 10!!
All these baby creatures are beyond adorable. The happiness just pours through my screen. Hope the little chick makes it. I would consider that chick a premie so hopefully with this extra time and care the chick will thrive.
i love seeing ginny or molly catching rodents! i'm not on a farm but i live near one, and my cat loves going out and catching the mice there. and bringing them back to eat on our table 🙄 but it's an important job for mousers everwhere. thank you!
My heart….it stopped beating as soon as I saw them! They are so cute!!! 😍
It was sweet seeing Alison with the baby ducks
The chicken following the cattle is brilliant! Thanks for sharing your success with that. Learning so much from watching your progress with farming skills. Love it. Thank you so much for your delightful, interesting videos. Great story-telling! P.S. that Austin Powers comparison was hilarious🤣. My first big laugh of the day!
1:35 It's crazy to think a Penguin Chick like this could come from a zebra-like mother. It's so funny how baby birds so rarely look anything like what they'll be as adults.
"You're probably easier to train than Abby" OUCH >_
Farming Channel: “ look at my farm cat doing its job ridding the property of small vermin”
Snowflake Viewers: “ REEEEEEEEEEE 😫❄️
Wait until you find out what happens to the calves when they hit slaughter weight. This is a farm channel, not a rescue ranch. Perahaps you may find Cocomelon more suitable if a farm cat killing a rodent sends you into a frenzy.
Are you snowflaking over snowflakes? The irony
Good job we need more Alison 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Cute video. Waiting on an update on Tobey. Yesterday you said he had Lymes disease. 🥺
Aww that poor wobbly chick. Poor thing's probably got something neurological going on but I don't know how you'd help a wobbly chick that young. I hope the wee little thing makes it.
The first part of this video is SO wholesome! ❤ Then there's the cat vs chipmunk scene. 😳 😆
What was that music as she was catching it? It sounded familiar. Was it from a movie or a well known composer?
I feel like you of all people understand how life works as a whole in the potential every being has but also understanding when the line draws for effort vs outcome like every being is a seed! Everything has potential for success and sometimes they take a little energy to get there. Good luck to the lil chick and the rest of the babies! Hoping to see them all grow and thrive
I loved seeing your wife with the chicks at the beginning! I know she’s a bit camera shy, but can we get more footage of her with the goslings?
Aww the ducklings are so cute. I think Abbey is a cow herder .your herd of coos has doubled. 💞
Holy cow! The cattle come when you called! Who’da thunk that at the beginning? Impressive.
Ive been watching Hilarie of Just a Few Acres farm work so much that Allison looks like she's taking it easy.
It is so nice to see you so happy with your dream turning into reality
Aww they're so big for day-olds!!! Reminds me of my sweet Quacki Campbells
Allison is so lovely, I'm sure it is hard not to become attached to the adorable baby duckies. ❤️
Seeing Allison with the ducklings brings to mind the videos of river otter moms teaching their babies to swim. The mom just grabs the babies with her mouth and lets them go in the water.
Why are baby animals of ANY kind like the cutest thing ever? Even baby SNAKES are just smol noodles lol
I love to visit you on your farm through youtube. I think I understand why your early layer Geese have such a poor birthrate. The ground is too cold for the eggs. I suggest that you build nest forms out of Styrofoam insulation to separate the eggs from the cold ground. Stay Awesome. John
I had one chicken like that in my first batch so I ordered a pack of 50 hobbles from Amazon and never had another one like that so I have never had to use any! Hubby told me even if it was too late for that first one, order them anyway to insure we never hatched another one...he said like insurance LOL! He was right.
The baby ducks are so cute! I put six of my duck eggs underneath the hen while she was brodying and one was not fertile had to throw it out the other two were still born inside the egg but they hatched halfway out but I checked again on the 29th of June and I have a little ducky I was so happy I'm waiting on the other two hopefully they will hatch out if not I'll just have the one until next time I put eggs underneath the head because none of my ducky girls are not going Brody. I called this little ducky firecracker and in the tote I have a teddy bear for ducky so it won't feel lonesome
Why dont you do maggot farming. Black soldier fly maggots will cut down your feed costs. Also, while you are doing permaculture. You can raise mushrooms there as well. Best of luck bud
Hi..... Morgan nice to see you, thank you for showing your video homestead chickens duck goose farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐣🐥🐩🐩🐈🐄🐝🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
Loved seeing Allison in the video. Have always seen her happy and playful around barn cats and the baby birds. I wonder how she is around Toby dog and Abby, does she like them? Very curious to know that and if yes, would love to see footage of her playing with dogs.
Kurt and Audrey are like "Dude. You called us and we're here. Let's go!"
"Where's our Alfalfa cubes???" 🐂
love seeing Allison!
So cute! Allison is a born mom! 🤗💗🤗
years ago now, mom and brother #2 found a pair of kittens wandering around in the road on the way home. Sure enough, one was male, the other female and within the first two years, we ended up with as many as 17 cats. There wasn't a bird, chipmunk, squirrel, or even a frog left alive anywhere near our house in the woods on the side of a lake for several seasons, but you couldn't hardly walk out the door in the winter without stepping on half a dozen cats.
For the skunk look into a "no spray" skunk trap" Sean woods did a review and it's the only way to not get sprayed
I had one like that and I rub the baby chick legs often I can't remember how many days I did it then it got better and I also prayed over the baby chick and ask God to help the legs get strong like the normal ones. And it became better!🙌🐥
8:17 the wheels are still flat to the ground, but the chicken coop is tilting off of the axles.
Why has "Release the clucken!!!" never happened before???
I have three chipmunks I am taking care of outside, they mostly come out to eat when I am there.
What sweet little babies!
13:15 gosling with angel wing?
For as much as you talk about animal care you also do animal care. You are a person of integrity.
8:15 Chicken House is MASSIVELY disconnected from the Trailer Frame.
The Front Left (relative to direction travelling) looks to be a foot above it... go the wrong way on a hill and this thing will fall off / tip.
I’m curious- Abby’s early puppyhood was spent playing with small white fluffy puppies. All she did was play with small white fluffy puppies. Could there be any connection to wanting to play with small white fluffy birds? Toby never played with a pack of puppies, at least I don’t think so. Not for as long as Abby did. It has to make a difference between them and Abby seems to focus on the small white hens and ducks. What do you all think?
You've got opera stars singing the "Blue Danube." Quack, Quack, Quack.
Good idea for abbey dog is corrections. Slip leash collar and everytine she over focus’ on the little ones just a quick slight tug. Doesn’t hurt the dog just shocks her out of the drive. Worked a treat with my sheepdog who wanted to play with lambs and piglets!!
Swimming ducklings - and Molly is free!
This has got to be the most adorable video I've seen in a while! 😀 Thank you for sharing!
Uncle Buck's infertility seems like a kind of big problem, given you need viable eggs. Are there plans to get another rooster next year?
If that healthy chick is a rooster that might just solve it, just have to move the mother.
He has to feed organic feed. I never hear him talk about what kind of feed. GMO feed affects fertility in humans and animals.
Uncle Buck has coq au vin written all over him
Although, to be completely honest, the "veteran" drakes and ganders should have long been stewed or traded away - they're the problem nobody wants to admit
What is coq au vin?
@@conniesingh4760 Coq au vin (“rooster with wine”) is a French chicken stew. It’s delicious.
My baby rooster on my lap is talking back to those ducklings peeping... XD
I love this channel! My favorite part is Release the quackers ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
They're so beautiful 🥰. How are you doing with friending the calves?
awe this is precious !! HI ALLISON!
What a glorious life you have. That's my version of a perfect day.
Really enjoyed you and your wife making this video have a great day Morgan one of my favorite UA-camrs
You should sit down and give urself a performance review as ur own boss
Awesome update! I have just one question, am I missing something, as Why wasn't there a Farm Meeting last night, as it was the 'first Wednesday of the Month' !
It was delayed. I had an outside commitment. It will be next week. Sorry!
Alison plays the part VERY well.
I saw something about a duckling who was having similar issues. The guy put it in a sock (obviously with its head sticking out) to keep everything tucked in and balanced for a day or two in a sitting position. It corrected its balance. Maybe it's worth a shot.
I just had a chick that had a splayed leg also. We just cute a small piece of ouches tape around it’s legs for a few days. She has been fine every since. Gold luck with your chick..
Duckling: what do I do what do I do what do I do!? THE WATER IS RISING WHAT DO I...oh......
Our call was, "C'mere! Dummies!"
The steer we were planning to butcher was named, "Dinner." Every year we ate Dinner except for the year we ate "That Damn Heifer".
Great to see Allison great video
