    That is a great deal for 4 at Earl of Sandwich! And their sandwiches are good too. Mmm. I will have to try the garlic cheesy bread. They do look amazing! Teens do get hungry a lot. LOL. The price really adds up on Disney trips. But it is worth it. Thanks for the detailed information. Your channel continues to be very valuable as people plan their Disneyland trips!

      Thank you so much! I was so excited to stumble upon that deal at Earl of Sandwich! I wish it was still there later in the week (we snacked on the chips for a couple days. Lol) Earl has yummy food for really reasonable prices, especially at the Disneyland Resort. We are a little bummed they will be moving further away in downtown Disney as the location they are at now is SO convenient.
      Highly recommend the garlic cheesy bread! I shared it with Jim and didn’t eat lunch that day because I was still full. Haha.
      Thank you for watching!

    Great breakdown of your costs for the whole trip! The flights were a huge portion of that, is it driveable to save money.
    The food did look amazing especially the ribs and the spaghetti and meatballs. The Earl of Sandwich is a fantastic choice.

      We can drive but gas is about 400 round trip and it its probably 30 hours of driving. I would rather pay the extra and fly. Our kids would eat Earl daily if that was an option! The Great Maple was good and we would have no problem going back.

      Hi! We have never lived close to the parks but have thought about moving closer once or twice. Crystal is the planner and the most knowledgable out of the two of us. She has always helped friends and family out with their trip planning, she is very thorough. We usually spend a bit of our trip filming the walks and we split hotel stays up. So it looks like we are there a bit more than we really are. Thank you so much for the kind words, we appreciate it and thanks for watching!

      That breakfast chimichanga is actually decently priced for being in the parks. Crystal wasn't feeling the breakfast sandwich that morning and I could tell she was hungry so I surprised her and got her one. For the price, it is nice sized and looks like it can fill you up. Disney trips are not cheap that’s for sure! Great deal Crystal found for Earl of Sandwich. Our food budget is about $100 per person per day but that’s because food is part of our vacation fun and Colorado doesn’t have good food options lol! Those teenagers do get hungry and we have to feed them or they get cranky 🤣

    Wow! It costs me about $2000 traveling solo for a 4-day trip. I don’t drink alcohol or caffeine so I save some there, plus no more than one table service meal each trip. Since Disneyland and my my favorite hotel raised their prices, I decided not to go back unless I could split the hotel and travel costs with a friend. The price hikes added $500 to my average cost. Great, fun and informative video as always! ♥️🤗 hope you’re feeling better Jim!

    How wonderfully open and honest! Nobody talks about this! Thank you for this! Our goal usually as a family is to only eat out once a day at Disneyland parks but when flying it’s harder to pack food ete…. You also could reduce your budget by getting rid of park hoppers that is $60 or more per person per day. Disney is definitely not cheap….

    I am thinking of booking with Anaheim Marriott Suites and just parking at the Toy Story Lot daily. I did the math and I can squeeze 3 of these trips rather than one big trip staying on property....

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  9 місяців тому +1

      We absolutely love staying on-property but it is so hard to justify that expense. Especially if you spend most of your time in the parks. That is just crazy you save that much money. We always tell people if you are willing to stay further away there are much better deals to be found. I know on our next trip we will most likely be staying further out.

  • @Zo_ey11
    @Zo_ey11 7 місяців тому

    This is really a helpful video. Those daily expenses really add up quickly. Sounds like a nightmare on your travel getting to the park. I always thought you all lived within driving distance! We have terrible flight costs to either coast from our little airport in Tulsa. I try to not add all this up on purpose. 🤣😅

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  7 місяців тому

      Hi! We used to live about 6ish hours away and drive. But now we live about 14-15 hours away if we drive! So we try to fly if we can now. (But it gets really expensive-we feel your pain)
      That travel day was so not fun! But….we ended up having a really fun trip! We normally don’t add up all our costs either! Lol. That was an eye opener for sure. When our boys were younger we used to bring tons of snacks in with us and not really buy much from the parks. But now they are teenagers and they get much more hungry!! And we are older and don’t want to lug around a backpack all day 🤣 thank you so much for watching!!!

    Good to know about the train, we wondered if that would be a good option! Do you guys add your park tickets in with your hotel and do a package?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist

      Before the channel, we would do a package if we stayed onsite. But, since we change hotels a lot for the channel, we usually just book the hotels direct. This was the first time we bought tickets since they brought back Magic Keys. Our MKs expired in September. We love packages because you we like being able to make payments!! So we’re not the only ones who make the trek from Boise to DL regularly! We’ll be in San Diego next week and are planning on going up to DL for 1 day. Was thinking about taking the Pacific Surfliner up and back rather than driving but now you have me nervous about that due to your 4 hour ride. Plus we would be getting off at the Anaheim station and needing a ride from there. Was it something very unusual that caused the massive delays?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  9 місяців тому +1

      We might be neighbors! I hope you have a fantastic time in San Diego. Originally we had about a 45 min layover between our flight and the arrival and thought that was perfect. We too took the Pacific Surfliner and the train was delayed about 2 hours due to freight traffic on the rails. The train was incredibly crowded where our family couldn't sit together. It felt as though the train was understaffed, our ticket wasn't checked until the Fullerton Station, one stop before Anaheim. We have ridden the train in other area before and loved it, this just felt like we were on a subway at commute time. Not necessarily the experience we were expecting.
      When we arrived at ARTIC station, we ordered an UberXL. The first Uber saw us with our carry-on luggage and backpacks and drove right past us. The second stopped but said they aren't taking our luggage. This is the first time that this has ever happened to us. When we have luggage I typically tip more than than the actual ride, which is the ironic part. At that point, we just decided to take ART and not deal with it. Since ART is on-demand at the ARTIC station, this took another 45 minutes. it is best to schedule it ahead of time if you can. This ordeal added about another 1- 1 1/2 hours to our trip since we had to wait for the on-demand bus to arrive.
      For us, it would have been much easier to rent from Avis like we did on our last trip and drop the car off Anaheim. We thought it might be nice to ride train to avoid the traffic, but it took much longer than driving. We thought it would be nice to get a snack at the on-board cafe, which didn't open until about the Fullerton station. The cafe only had one person working at it and as soon as it opened it had a very long line. It just wasn't a good experience for us.
      I think if you go in with some expectations of delays and pack snacks if you are bringing children you will have a better experience.

      @@AnaheimParkTourist Yeah, we could be close - I'll yell hello out my back door and let me know if you hear anything! Funny thing was last trip down there to DL we ran into some friends of ours that just happened to be there also. They live about a block away and we had no idea they were going. Small world.... Anyway, big thanks for the detailed reply! Sounds like you guys lived that "Trains, Planes, and Automobiles" movie. The train idea seemed like it could be fun but I guess if some delay happens you are trapped with no alternative but to wait. We will have a rental car so I think we'll just plan on getting going before the traffic surge and from what others are saying it is around a 1.5-2 hour drive. Oh, and FYI we will be going back to Anaheim in January and staying at the Cambria and I think that was one we found because you guys had spoken of it favorably in a video. So thanks again and keep up the great work on the channel!

      We actually found out a good number of our friends were at Disneyland that week and we no clue. It is always nice to run into some friendly faces in the crowd. Even though sitting in traffic can be miserable it is sometimes better being in control than being dependent on people for a ride.
      We loved the Cambria even though it was a bit further out there. The price is decent but they do charge a resort and parking fee. We loved that there were a few restaurants close by. Thank you for the kind words we do appreciate it.
