Double check and confirm the address of the Springhill you are staying at. This Springhill Suites Maingate is located at 1160 W Ball Rd, and there is another Springhill Suites (Convention Center) located on S. Harbor which is much closer. If you are staying at the Ball Rd location, we suggest taking ART or ride share if you do not want to walk this distance everyday. Ride share will probably cost you around $20 round trip per day. ART starts off at $6 per day per person but sell discounted multiday tickets. There is an ART bus stop located right in front of the Springhill Suites Maingate. Mid to late September is one of our favorite times of the year to go and it isn't as crazy as October. October is one of the busiest times of the year. We have seen reports that Space Mountain will only be down a month, as of Today, it is still closed through September 5th. Keep watching the refurbishment calendar and hopefully it will be open by your trip. With a park hopper, you should be able to maximize your time between the two parks and have a fantastic trip. Thanks! We were shocked when we saw space mountain on the maintenance calendar. It’s supposed to only be about a month but, with so much of the park being down, the lines are going to be bad.

It is weird that so much of the park is down right now or going to be down soon. Being a public facing employee can be incredibly tough and not very rewarding. I have had a few jobs where I had to deal with the public and most interactions are positive but it is that one bad interaction that can ruin your day.

We have stayed at the Alpine Inn, Desert Palms, and Candy Cane multiple times, all back up to Car's Land and we have never heard noise from the park. The park has to prevent as much noise from spilling out from the park as possible. That is why Incredicoaster has a tunnel on its tracks, to contain the screams!

We actually have that walk from the Disneyland Hotel to Disneyland, that can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/6_HcKa-jWc8/v-deo.html The DVC Villas are just a little bit of Distance away from from the DLH lobby, but this walk give you an idea what it is like. Currently this security area that went through is under construction and will be dedicated DLH guests. Currently the security entrance is just a little south this entrance we used in this video. We are not sure when this exact path will reopen.

Yes, you stayed at one of the furthest away. We are shocked you walked that but at the end of the day you still had great time. We have no problem walking this distance in the morning but we would take transportation back at night. Thank you!!

Thanks! My knee is getting so much better. I was just commenting how much better it has been feeling in the last 4 weeks. I am finally able to exercise more and been losing weight. I still have about 4 more months before I am cleared for normal activity. Thanks for checking in! As for the hotel, we booked a building 1 view room. I would request a higher room. We usually put in a request to be further away from the elevator. I don’t remember our exact room number but we were about 3-4 doors from the elevator. A view room should get you on a higher floor, offhand we have always been on floors 4-6 for view rooms. We actually didn’t buy alcohol downstairs as we weren’t sure they carried anything so we picked it up at the Cove which is at the Tropicana. We had a couple of beers and enjoyed the fireworks one night!

@@AnaheimParkTourist Great news about the knee! Getting rid of that additional weight will help for sure Appreciate the heads up on the rooms. On my 'rest day' in November I plan on having a little walk on Harbor to see the properties in person.

I absolutely destroyed my knee and then did my best to avoid surgery. Before the injury I would run 5-6 miles a day. Because I avoided surgery for so many years, I almost needed a knee replacement. Crystal insisted I see the doctor when I turned my head to my left to talk to her which caused my knee to pop out of place. That is always the best thing to do is check everything out in person. We thought about making a video like that but not sure there would have been interest. Walking around will give you the feel for the different places.

@@AnaheimParkTourist I have a family member with bad knees. But yet is off to the World in 3 1/2 weeks. When looking at videos a bathtub is high up on my list of amenities. During my afternoon break, sit in a hot bath, soak my legs and body. I think I've watched every video out there on the DVC Disneyland rooms, but won't have my own experience until I open that door. Visiting and vibing with a place is great when you can do it. That's why I'm doing that now, putting together a small list for my trip.

Agreed! If I was only doing a day or two at the parks ... it's still a maybe! If it was a full vacation ... too much of a hike! I enjoyed the stroll though! 😉

We grouped a couple of these walks from this area on our last trip. I think in the morning it’s okay but at night take rideshare back. My dad likes to stay back in this area and he says the walk isn’t too bad . -Jim

Thanks for pointing this out, it looks like it is free again. This is the second time they have eliminated a parking fee. At the first of the year, they implemented a parking fee again and now I am not sure when that went away.

Thank you! You do not have to use the Disneyland/Genie app if you do not want to. We do recommend purchasing Genie+ if you are going to have limited time in the park. We usually get everything we want to get done if we pick up Genie+. Some of the standby lines can be much longer than the stated wait times if a flood of Genie+ people come in. We have mainly experienced longer than stated wait times at Space Mountain, but have experienced it elsewhere in the park. If you head out next year, It looks like Disney might be throwing a big celebration for Disneyland's 70th birthday.

Thank you for being a long time viewer, we really appreciate it. Noise is always a tough one, especially in the Disney area. The noise from the road and freeways can be loud. The two of us would suggest looking at booking one of the hotels in the area over motels. If you need any advice, we are always here to help you with your decision. We are hoping/thinking that hotel prices will start coming down in the coming months. We are starting to see a lot of discounts in the area.

We were on the 5th floor. According to their website all view rooms have balconies. The balcony doesn't have a table and chairs. We used the blue stools on the balcony that were near the dining table. You can see Space Mountain but we had a tree obstructing the view to the left.

Thank you! We do prefer hotels over motels too. HoJo is one of our favorites when it is in our budget. We have always had a good stay.

Crystal has stayed in non-renovated rooms but I have not. She said the rooms are still decent, one day we will stay in one of those rooms. It is a bit harder for us since the beds are doubles and we usually go with our kids.

We normally skip the in-park Starbucks because the line is slow. If we want to get something, we will mobile order from the Downtown Disney Location and take a small break. So for example, we want some caffeine, we will get off Space Mountain, place our order for the Downtown Disney Location, walk there, take a quick break and head back into the park. The last trip we went on, we didn't really drink a whole lot of coffee and mainly went to the Disney restaurants if we needed coffee. It has been a while since we ordered from the Joffrey's in DCA. That cart has been insanely busy the past couple of years. The Joffrey's cart is located near the Little Mermaid attraction.

@@AnaheimParkTourist oh yes, I know that Joffrey's location well from 2022. But I rarely if ever buy a coffee in the parks - only like if it gets later and I start dragging. Yes, as most things, mobile order is the best. One of the things I've been appreciating about how indepth your hotel room videos is seeing what kind of coffee maker each place since I'll just make it for myself and have it on my walk to the park.

You are correct, it used to be the Super 8. I don't know the exact date but it changed over sometime between 2017 and 2018. King's Inn is now owned by a family that owns one other Hotel in San Diego.

For us the best and closest budget hotel is going to be Alpine Inn. They have decent rates and their rooms are nice for the price point in the Disneyland area. We loved the suite and it was a reasonable rate. We stayed there a second time in a 2 queen room and a very good stay, we haven't published the 2 queen room video yet. Our only complaint is the toilet/shower room is small and the towels are thin. However, you will most likely have thin towels at any budget hotel. A lot of people are fans of the Desert Inn and Suites and the Anaheim Hotel. We did not have good stays at either hotel and have no plans to go there in the next year or two. If you don't mind staying further away, the Sheraton usually has good prices and their rooms were remodeled in 2022. The biggest thing we tell people, look at the most recent reviews on Google or Tripadvisor before deciding. See how the reviews are trending over the last six months. For example, a hotel could have cleanliness or noise issues. You will continually see that in the reviews. Then you can make determination if those complaints bother you or not. -Jim
